Here we are a week out and I was called and told that starting next week, the day before my appointment, they would no longer allow unvaccinated people in their office. I had Covid, still have the antibodies, and was told by my gp to not get vaccinated due to having antibodies and blood clots running in my family... the non FDA approved vaccine was previously deemed "not safe" for pregnant women or women trying to conceive but this fertility clinic is now requiring it for patients. Very responsive to emails and calls (which I did pretty much every day). I did travel to the Sandy Springs office a few times and had a great experience. The last call was my last straw. I had to reschedule due to a last-minute change in childcare. This was the 4th time I had to reschedule. First time, my provider was overbooked. The called to reschedule. 2nd time, I was running late but of course no one answered when I called to reschedule or update them. The 3rd time,I received a text from them that the office was closed due to inclement weather. When I called this last time, the scheduler said they were going to charge me a $25 fee because this was my 4th same-day cancellation. So I told her that it was actually my 3rd--no 2nd-- because 2 of the 4 times, were on them. She said they have a new protocol, and I asked her what it was and she seemed unclear but defensive, stating: I'll just note your file. Then she rushed through the rescheduling process as if she was annoyed. I only came to this practice for Dr. Dark to deliver my baby but I'm done with this office. The overall vibe for the nonmedical staff is unprofessional and nonchalant. For them to also be women in a doctor's office for women who are specifically coming because of new or emerging changes to their bodies the lack of empathy or care is puzzling.

Instead of being met with professionalism or compassion, the nurse practitioner responded dismissively and sarcastically, asking, "Why, because you're pregnant?" and then proceeded to state that being pregnant "doesn't change anything." From the start, it was clear the NP had an issue with patients requesting accommodations. My sister was not given the opportunity to fully explain her concerns or how she was feeling physically. There was no discussion, no assessment, and no bedside manner. The tone was condescending and invalidating, leaving not only my sister but our entire family shocked and deeply uncomfortable. Pregnancy is not one size fits all, and patients should never be made to feel embarrassed or unreasonable for advocating for their health and safety. We chose not to confront the provider in the moment, but it is important that others are aware: if you come to this office seeking understanding or support (especially regarding work accommodations) be prepared to feel dismissed and uncomfortable for simply asking. This experience was unacceptable, and I would not recommend this practice to anyone who expects respectful, patient centered care. I strongly hope upper management reviews this concern carefully and takes the necessary steps to coach and improve staff behavior.

What's pushed me over the edge is that I'm going through fertility treatments right now and am supposed to go in during my cycle. If I can't go in at the ONE appt they have on this day, I miss an entire month of treatment. THIS IS NOT OK - they said they would help me get pregnant and now they don't have time? I was a patient of Dr. Arona for a short time but after moving to NC and being treated by my new Physician and 2 weeks later endocrinologist because of abnormal TSH levels, I realized one of the disorders I have could have been diagnosed with Arona. I last came in in Dec. I'm mid 20s and up until a year and a half ago was in perfect health. Within a year I gained 50 lbs, diagnosed with depression and developed pain, fatigue and irregular cycles. When I went in with Arona after having already moved to NC and being emotionally overwhelmed, I was giving a transvaginal ultrasound, blood pressure taken and a prick on the finger to test for iron levels. When she came in to see me she did make it clear I had clots on one ovvary, put the depression and stress on my move despite the irregular cycles starting 6 months prior and made me feel like once I finished taking the 10 day medicinal regimen and lost some weight I'd be fine. It was lazy work for a busy day because she refused to diagnosed me with PCOS solely because of my history of regular cycles and never even asked me about other PCOS symptoms that I had and had she drawn blood to confirm both of our gut feelings, she would have discovered my androgen and TSH levels were sky high and that I do in fact have PCOS as well as Hypothyroidism Which I discoverd this week, 2 months after seeing Arona. I think what disturbs me most despite all of that, is that instead of taking constructive criticism for your practice and making adjustments, honest reviews from Google, health grades and zocdoc mysteriously disappear or somehow is not factored into the average rating which I know because I've monitored them, and this gives an appearance of being a 4.5/5 star gyno when in reality yelp is the only one that's accurate because their policy doesn't permit rating adjustments. LISTEN TO YOUR PATIENTS. No matter how young or old even if an illness doesn't fit the cookie cutter symptoms because humans don't have cookie cutter bodies. Just because I had clots and no abnormal cyst was not a reason not to diagnose me or at least run a blood test because I do have PCOS and fortunatley becuase I do love myself enough to be my own advocate, have since been given the proper diagnoses.

Dr. Stewart caused the death of my first born child (son). As a newlywed and first time mother, I trusted entrusted the care of my heart's most precious possession to this doctor. This turned out to be a horrific mistake. In the beginning of my pregnancy, I suffered from spotting and bleeding. After calling multiple times and finally getting an office visit with Dr. Stewart, she told me very coldly that I would probably lose my baby in a few days. No soul to her at all. I asked if we could do an exam and if she could explain why and she simply said NO and told me to enjoy my day! After that meeting, I found a new office who requested medical records MULTIPLE times in order for me to be seen to no avail. I even went to the office to request as I needed my records in order to be seen by a high risk specialist. They REFUSED to give me my own medical records! Later that week, at 16 weeks pregnant, I went to the bathroom and to my horror I saw my bag of waters bulging through my vagina. My husband rushed me to the ER where they performed multiple scans. They found that my cervix had funneled and had been dilated for what appeared to be WEEKS which is what was causing the bleeding that I told doctor Stewart about. They also rushed to give me antibiotics as this could have left me and my baby open to INFECTION. The ER physician called Dr. Stewart and asked why my cervix was never checked at my ultrasound appointments. He also stated that she was very cold hearted and he also apologized for the lack of care I had received up until that point. I was admitted to the hospital and 2 days later, my water broke causing me to deliver my son prematurely. The medical team I saw informed me that I have an incompetent cervix and a SIMPLE STITCH WOULD HAVE SAVED MY BABIES LIFE . The extreme anger and sadness that I felt was not replaced until 4 years later when I became pregnant with my 2nd child. This time, I advocated for myself and found a wonderful OB who actually cared about his patients and whom was also knowledgeable. I was given a simple stitch (cerclage) to keep my cervix closed and delivered a beautiful baby girl 4 years ago thanks to another medical team. To all of the expectant mama's out there, PLEASE RUN AND FIND SOMEONE WHO CARES ABOUT YOUR LIFE AND THE LIFE OF YOUR UNBORN CHILD. This woman (and I use the term lightly) is nothing more than a cold, heartless fraud.

The front desk staff was professional and prompt from uploading documents to getting him seen within 15 min of arrival Octavia, the nurse, was very sweet. She introduced herself and gave a bit of background about herself and the purpose of her role during his visit. She asked thorough questions and repeated his responses back to him for clarification. Dr. Shapiro came in 10 min after she entered the notes. He was very nice and polite. He asked follow-up questions that Octavia had previously asked for clarification on. He explained thoroughly why my dad was on specific medications and their role. He ordered bloodwork in which it was done in-house. He also ordered imaging (PET scan) and prescription refills. The Phlobotomist was sweet and funny! She and my dad hit it off well. She suggested he drink more water considering it was difficult to find a vein. My dad says well may I should have had a glass of wine! . She laughed and stated that it would not be a good idea As previously stated check out was good. On the way home I received a call from the office scheduling the PET scan. We were able to get the day/time we wanted. All in all, it was a very good visit! I'm very pleased with the staff and Dr. Shapiro. If you or a family member needs a Urologist, give them a call. From my understanding, there are other locations.

BEWARE!!! I was…read morecharged $723 for a visit that lasted less than 5 minutes. I barely sat down before the appointment was over. All that happened was a quick conversation and I was asked to pee in a cup. That's it. Before the appointment, I specifically asked the front desk for an upfront estimate with my insurance (United Healthcare) because I didn't want any surprise bills. They told me the estimated cost would be around $243, which I paid upfront at the office. Later I checked my itemized bill and saw the total charge was $723. My insurance paid $0, and now I'm being billed another $141.57 on top of the $243 I already paid. So somehow a 5-minute visit and urine sample equals $723. What's even more ridiculous is I was told self-pay would have been around $275, meaning using insurance actually made the visit hundreds of dollars more expensive. This kind of pricing feels extremely misleading. If the office would like to publicly explain how a 5-minute visit and urine sample justifies a $723 charge, I'd genuinely love to hear it.

After a lengthy and frustrating discussion, the office admitted that I did not need a referral and finally gave me an appointment. Today I called to reschedule, was on hold for 15 minutes, and when the call was finally answered, the agent pretended she couldn't hear me and disconnected the call. I immediately called back, only to get the answering machine saying the office was closed. This was at 4:40 but the posted office hours are until 4:45. The providers may be outstanding but not worth continuously having to run the gauntlet just to talk to someone. Another fun fact: the initial message when you call says you can go online to schedule; when you go online, there is just a form to submit with a request.
