My wife and I were turned off because they did not want to honor what was on their website. This is my first time getting a trust and I was trying to get information on the cost and everything else I had called six other trust attorney's after speaking to the receptionist. they all have a free consultation. I think the initial consultation should be free to decide who should I use for my trust. I also understand that time is money. My analogy is if you can have a general contractor come out and give you a free estimate and ask questions and decide who you were gonna use should be the same in other professions. Now I am in the Appliance business and I am coming to your home and taking apart the appliance to diagnose it, there is a service fee to drive there and diagnose the issues. Start to finish I want to say it was 3-4 weeks including renaming an out-of-state deed in addition to our properties in Tennessee. The first step is a consultation which took us maybe 45-min. We were given a questionnaire via email before that appointment so we were prepared. At our consultation we set a time to meet to sign documents approximately 3-weeks later. Amazing turnaround time! We paid for a portion of the amount due when we decided to proceed and paid the remainder at the second meeting. We received an emailed copy of our documents to review a week or so before signing and I found that helpful. Understand every word and don't be embarrassed to discuss sensitive issues/concerns. Madelyn had to explain to me a few legal terms used that I didn't quite understand and we discussed ways to avoid conflict when this estate is used. After signing documents you'll be given a folder with a checklist of tasks to complete the estate. It's straightforward and Madelyn continued to clarify any issues we stumbled upon. We did start to receive deeds in the mail within a few weeks in addition to scam that looked pretty legit but Madelyn helped us see through that. The office is easy to get to on 96 just East of Carothers and there's plenty of parking. We'll meet with MCL again every few years to keep things updated. It feels great knowing we've done all we can to help make things go smoothly.
