we just had our wedding here and it was beautiful, the venue itself doesn't need a lot to make it look extraordinary. The staff we worked with throughout the booking process leading up to the wedding day were always friendly and helpful. I hadn't been to a wedding since I was a child and didn't really know how to plan my wedding or what I was doing. Savannah was super helpful throughout the process in helping me figure out what I needed and didn't need. However after the wedding we got an email letting us know that we were going to be charged for damages to the wooden floor due to moving a table. We honestly didn't see the sign on the table that said to not move it until after the fact. however my concerns are these, 1. we didn't put the table back before we left for the ceremony so someone was in our room where we had all of our personal belongings while we were gone and then proceeded to move the table back. 2. the damage is so minor you can barely see it in the pictures sent to us. 3. we practically carried the table to avoid any scratching so the damage could of been done by whatever staff moved it back. at this point it just feels like we are being punished for moving the furniture. lets not leave out the fact that the floor was previously scratched and dented from all the weddings they have (which is probably all wear and tear) but that doesn't get replaced until just now? this wedding venue is already so expensive this all just seems outrageous.

This venue is absolutely beautiful, we did photography and Videography so I was so happy to be here because it's very nice, big open spaces for photos, great decoration, the stuff very friendly and profesional. I feel like I just want to stay here all day and relax and of course keep taking photos. My clients received almost 900 digital photos, why?... because every area is wonderful to take all photos you want. Thank you so much for this wonderful wedding venue.

Such a neat space! With white walls and neutral styling, this venue truly is a blank canvas that can be transformed into so many spectacular visions! Plus, the fireplace is a great touch, the perfect backdrop for a wedding ceremony! Great space for weddings and events. Highly recommend checking out!

What a fantastic community space and outdoor recreation center! Totally makes winter in Minnesota…read moreeven better. I'm new to discovering The Trailhead at Theodore Wirth Regional Park, but believe me when I say I'll be back many more time. In the winter, they offer cross-country skiing and lessons. (You can rent a full set of gear for about $30- no need to have your own to experience skiing! They also have à la carte options for cheaper if you only need poles or boots, etc.) Besides skiing, outdoor winter activities also include snow tubing, snowboarding, snowshoeing.... You name it. (I haven't been in fall or summer yet, but I also hear great things about their mountain biking and trail running options.) Inside The Trailhead, there's food and drink concessions, ample seating, lockers, bathrooms, and even rooms for rent. The last time I was there, a family was hosting a young child's birthday party in the multi-purpose room. Altogether, there is an amazing assortment of services here to come and check out. Can't wait for next ski season!

The building is a perfect space for bringing a large group together for games, chatting, eating, and sledding on the snowy hills just outside the doors. They used to serve hot food, but they no longer have that option. The food was not consistent or anything all that special, but it was a nice option. This time we brought Thanksgiving leftovers and some breakfast bagel sandwiches. The space is well maintained and clean. It is spacious and has lots of room for young kids to run around and not be a disturbance. Always look forward to coming here.

This has become my go-to spot for my quarterly stays in the Twin Cities for work. I've now stayed…read moretwice and loved both experiences. The hotel is very clean and the staff is universally friendly. You get the benefits of both the courtyard and connected Marriott, including workout facilities and a pool. My rooms were spacious and comfortable. I am addicted to the breakfast burrito at the cafe. Great place - nothing negative to say about it!

Bedbugs. My biggest travel fear…read more And that fear was realized during my stay at this hotel. I was originally placed in a (very nice) 5th floor room, but due to the excessive noise going on above me (a common problem that I experience at every Courtyard by Marriott property I visit), I asked to have my room changed to a top floor room. Huge mistake. I woke up in the middle of the night to use the restroom. I returned to my bed, turned off the light, and not long afterwards I saw something run just inches past my face. I turned on the light, hopped out of the bed, and right away I knew what it was. I took some photos of it as I dialed the front desk so that someone from the hotel could come to my room and see it for themselves. I must have tried them for 15-20 minutes, but no one at the front desk answered. Finally, I killed the bug (preserving the sample for Pest Control) and went down to the front desk. Of all of the hotels I've ever stayed at in my life, I have never been greeted by an empty front desk. Ever. I waited around for a few minutes, then walked to the back offices to see if anyone was there, but it was a ghost town. Not a soul to be found. This hotel is connected by a breezeway to another Marriott property so I walked over to that property and found the guy who's supposed to be at the front desk of my hotel chit-chatting with the front desk staff of the adjoining Marriott property. I asked the three of them if there was a manager available. The guy, Kent, tells me that he's sort of like a manager. I tell him my issue and all of a sudden he's not feeling so managerial. Amanda, the night manager of the adjoining Marriott property, offered to help me. I proceeded to explain to her my issue as we walked to my room and she jumped right into action. She procured a robe, some garbage bags, some antibacterial wipes, and some coins for the washing machine and we spent the next few hours washing every article of my clothing, and using the antibacterial wipes to sanitize every single item that I brought with me on this trip. No task was too small or too neurotic, and she never once complained. I wondered aloud what I would do about clothes in the meantime. She informed me that she was authorized to drive the Hotel shuttle, and she took me to a nearby Target as soon as it opened. Not long after I returned, I asked to speak with the hotel's management about the issue. I met with Andrea and was hit with the "we can neither confirm nor deny" bullshit. Fine. They brought Pest Control in later that morning (including a canine trained to sniff out bedbugs) to inspect not only my room, but also all of my belongings. Pest Control confirmed that not only was the insect that I killed a bed bug, but they also found the presence of bed bugs among the clothes that Amanda and I had cleaned just a few hours earlier. At that point, I decided that I was not bringing any of those items home with me. Despite the hotel's offer to heat treat my belongings, even the most infinitesimal risk of bringing this pestilence back with me was unacceptable. Moreover, some of my items would be warped and otherwise ruined after being exposed to such high heat for a prolonged period. Fortunately, I always travel with a Sleep Sack (Google it. It's a worthwhile investment for any traveler) so I was not bitten or otherwise physically injured, and the hotel's insurance company ultimately reimbursed me for my losses. However, I hope other travelers never have to go through such a traumatic and otherwise frustrating experience.

If you are going for a breathtaking WOW factor this is it! I do believe weddings are their main…read morebusiness and they have the decoration and space set up organized and down to a science. Your event will probably go off without a hitch. If you are a bride that likes glamour and things done in a big way---this will probably be a venue you will want to check out. I am more about quality and substance vs. quantity and showiness therefore I can only give it a three stars based on my likes and dislikes. I recently attended an event there and for the money that was spent a few things I would have been disappointed in was the sound quality indoors and outdoors. --How close the chairs were outside--they are small seated chairs and unless you have the ass of a child they did not need to be touching because most adults need the room on the side of the chair for some overflow. The food---I had steak and others had the chicken and fish and one vegetarian had pasta...the feedback on all of it was not that good! These plates are all right around 32-38 per plate so at that price you would expect delicious food. I think the quality of the food was there and it had more to do with the preparation vs. the product itself. The staff was a little snippy with the wedding party in the afternoon when one asked if there was anyway possible they could get coffee or water--apparently this is a money making business and that was not part of the deal so they were shut down with a curt response of No-but nice try!!!! The open bar selection was boring and standard--and the glassware was not upscale. I would have expected a martini glass to be available and perhaps a few more exotic liquors and mixers just for fun. These are all areas that you can address beforehand if you choose to use this as your venue --I feel like if you are aware of some of this it can easily be enhanced for a five star experience.
