Never had a bad experience renting from Imaging World. It was an absolute amazing send to find them on ShareGrid. I've been able to make last minute rentals and trust that they will have it ready for pickup with a smooth system. They also have a wide range of professional film gear readily available for all your set needs. The only thing I have wanted that they didn't necessarily have was communications devices like Hollyland C1's, etc. But other than that, they have all the gear you need including lights, hazer machines, c-stands, etc. All at tremendous value. Daniel is the of all s. Truly, extremely kind and helpful. And not fussy, like some rental houses. Also, they'll answer any questions you have thoughtfully without making you feel stupid. So many rental places (or individuals) in this city can make renters feel unwelcome or stupid, but this place is genuinely nice and inclusive. Wilson is also extremely nice. I've rented G&E, as well as some lenses for still photography. I also shot in their mini studio in the back. It's not the fanciest of places, but the backdrop was crispy, I felt supported setting up lighting, and my photography subject was at ease. Terrible customer service and terrible business practices. This is definitely a business that does not care about their customers. I had to call 4 times, 3 times too many... to get help on my Polaroid Hi-Print 3x2 device that I purchased online. I made sure to contact Polaroid to troubleshoot before reaching out to them and as a result they said It had some internal issues and needed to get the item replaced and to go through the supplier. UGH! I was seriously hoping I'd never have to contact these people again. Regardless, after a couple months of them not knowing what the hell they were doing the distributor honored the warranty and say they're gonna "investigate" their supplier. all in all, i've learned a valid lesson here. know before you buy. Don't buy from these guys. They do not deserve your hard earned money. read more

Went in and got a nd filter for 70$ to open it and it to be heavy used with some sort of water inside the filter something told me to listen to the low reviews on this place. Pretty sure the owner was sitting right there on the computer with not a care in the world didn't say not one word. The worker said he couldn't process the refund same day. That it would take a day or two to submit the refund, not sure why.. Very unprofessional business definitely my first and last time coming here. read more

You know I never leave bad reviews, But my girlfriend was treated like crap by the same guy every time she's came in for business. She got a film camera last year to experiment and teach herself, she goes in asking for tips and he's extremely condescending. Still it's close to our house so she goes for development. Today she placed an order online to pick up film because we're going upstate. First the order has been canceled without her knowledge. She comes back out to the car twice more after this. once because her cards been declined. Then the next time she was close to tears because he also couldn't break her 100$ from tips. My girlfriend is very tiny and people tend to walk all over her and this is exactly what he was doing. While my girlfriend is the bottom I am the top. And I am 5'9. And I marched in there still being really polite because who tf needs to be a dick during covid! Turns out it was his card machine not working. Nice to have this in the neighborhood but they are always late in the morning. it really is inconvenient when you have to get something last minute and they don't open on time (which is quite late in the morning as is). but i've gone a few times at 10 am and the gate is closed. wish they were more reliable with their store hours. read more

I ordered a camera memory card via Amazon. Transaction was easy. Didn't ship until 2 days after the order. The USPS now states that the package is "Undeliverable as addressed". I reach out to The Imaging World to better understand what my actions of recourse are, as the item will now be, according to the USPS, returned to the sender. When I reached out to them via email, I was greeted back with a message from Esther, that provided me no information on how to proceed. When I called, the individual who answered the phone just said "Hold on" and put me on hold. No hello, please hold, just "HOLD ON". Finally I asked for Esther, who the email was sent from to better understand what I should do. I had ordered the memory card 3 WEEKS ahead of my vacation to make sure I received it in time. It's now less than a week from my vacation and the package is being returned to New York. I explained that her email did not help me whatsoever. She apologized, but did not seem genuine about it at all. They will not receive any of my business in the future in the way that the situation is being handled now. DO NOT ORDER ONLINE FROM IMAGING WORLD: Ordered a roll of large seamless paper online on Tuesday. They processed the order, sent me a message that a label had been created and that I should receive my order on Friday. Friday came and no seamless. Got this email that day: "Your order #1574 was cancelled because we did not have enough stock to fulfill your order. Please reply to this email if you have any questions or concerns. Sincerely, The Imaging World" I needed the paper for a photoshoot and had to scramble. I was given no notice that there would be a delay except on the day it was supposed to deliver. Advice: Stick with B & H. All the stuff I ordered from them came on time. read more

On Sept 28 2018 I purchased an Akai MPK mini keyboard ($104.99) on Ebay (The Imaging World was the seller). It was received Oct 6th. After checking it out I discovered it had issues with latency on some of the keys. I was told I'd be charged a restocking fee if it were returned. Here's the features of the ad; 30 day returns buyer pays return shipping NO MENTION OF RESTOCKING FEE, or how much Okay when I opened a claim with Paypal I was told not to return the item until this dispute was resolved. When Paypal would not even refer to the ad I just returned it to The Imaging world on 11/02/18 and it was received 11/5/18. I sent a couple of emails and no response. Finally I called their store and spoke to an arrogant, rude person who said he was the manager. He said his name was Mark Jones. I don't believe him. Well he basically told me I was out of $104.99 and merchandise that I'd paid for. Although I didn't want a defective piece of merchandise. He also tried to say the 30 day period had expired.... which is not true since I received it on 10/6/18. I would recommend anyone to avoid this company like the plague. read more

I purchased an Alesis Recital Pro from them on eBay. They created a shipping label a day after the sale. I just got off of the phone with them because today was the delivery date. The sales associate said the keyboard was on backorder and won't be available for weeks. Now I have to go through eBay and wait an additional week to get my money back. I wish they were honest from the get go and refunded me immediately instead of creating a shipping label on FedEx to buy time. AVOID The Imaging World on eBay! I purchased the Canon Rebel T6 bundle from The Imaging World via Jet.com. Big, Big, Big mistake. I received a box full of CRAP. The camera was used and wasn't even packaged as a brand new camera from Canon would be presented. A huge false advertising shceme: the only thing that came in the Canon bundle with the Canon Brand name was the camera and one lens. Everything else ranged from Vivitar, Digital Concepts, Brower, Xit, and so on. All of these items were obviously used (scratched or filled with dust and debris). When I called their "customer service" , the agent failed to believe that his company sent out used or damaged products ( although I'm not the first person to complain of this). I should have known this bundle deal was a scam when the camera alone sells for 600+ at Best Buy. read more

I ordered an effects pedal through Imaging World and about the time I expected it to be delivered, I got an email telling me that my order had been cancelled at my request. I made no such request. I called the company and was told that the pedal was out of stock and he didn't know when they'd get more. No apology or further explanation. Problem is, the ad is still up on the net. It should really be removed. I think this is a one man operation. Not sure why he runs his business this way, but I won't be returning to his website. read more
