We always try to visit locally owned spots when we travel so in we went for a sweet treat. There are quite a few pictures on the walls and information about the history of this spot and the family that presumably still operates this bakery. There was a basket at the front with discounted bread from the previous day. It was very hard to resist because it looked delicious and was less than $2. We were headed out for a hike next so we stuck to our plan for one treat each. We were really hoping for pastries but that section of the case was empty oddly enough. My husband chose the oatmeal raisin cookie. It was way too crunchy and not much flavor unfortunately. I adore meringue and was intrigued by the unique shape of theirs so that was my choice. Perfection! My big issue with meringues are the gumminess inside the big fat ones. This design remedies that and I will be buying a piping bag and making mine this way forevermore. The chocolate dip was a nice, yummy touch as well. Just an idea for the shop-- We have a place in the UK and there is a shop there that adds chunks of candy bars to their meringues and it is heavenly. Seed planted, locals! You're welcome!! read more

A little pricy but those truffles and multi seed glutton free bread were might tasty! This bakery has a little bit of everything like jams, breads, pies, teas and truffles. It is played out very nicely with an area to sit and enjoy your tea and sweets. The displays are beautiful and lure you to buy more calories than your body needs. Since this is the last day of our stay in Canada, I purchased some truffles to give as gifts. They were very nicely wrapped in a small see through box. I also purchased some tea ...mango passionfruit for my daughter-in-law who likes all sorts of unique teas. The lady at the counter was courteous and there was a young man sweeping the floor as we entered who greeted us with a smile! Too bad we waited for the last day of our vacation to visit. read more

We stopped for pastries before going to the farmer's market. There was a line up out the door but it moved very quickly. The spaces for social distancing are very well marked. There is a very good selection of fresh baked goods and the locals seem to stock up as we saw many leave with large bags of goods. I had hot chocolate my husband had coffee and we each had a pastry. I had the special of the day a rhubarb raspberry coffee cake and my husband had a cinnamon bun. We were able to get a seat inside. The pastries were very good and the service was friendly and efficient. I can understand why it is so popular. read more

They offer a decent variety of sweet treats as well including some donuts you don't see usually like apple filled. Be sure to try the ever rotating donut of the month. I would give them a 5 for their fabulous bread but the horrible lack of service brings me to give them no more than a 5. Unfortunately, this place has more $ turning around and walking out the door than coming in! They have 1 cashier for 30-40 people waiting in lines going out the door. If they added to more cash registers and hired two more people to check people out, they would triple their sales and income. I spent the weekend in Invermere and left the long line three days in a row. They were ridiculous. Very poorly run business with a great bake staff. read more

I don't get it. Every time we go to this place they never have anything freshly made. They have their daily breads list and maybe it's just the time of day I get there but they are always out. We bought hamburger buns that had a date of August 18 on them which was about 5 days from best before but they were not good. Stale. And this isn't the first time this has happened to us there. The service is slow and not very friendly there either. For a small Town bakery it could be so much better. It's too bad that I'd rather get Sobey's bread then stand in line and support the local "small business." The cookie I had was good though. read more

When i visit a town, it is really important to support local businesses. Dont just go to the well known chain businesses. Invermere BaKery started in the 80s and they are still going strong. Also The bakery was across from our hotel so we had to stop in. Stepped in here for 2 sandwiches which we brought for the ride to Radium Hot Springs. They had hummus veggie and smoked turkey both had lots of fresh veggies. The next day we bought 3 sandwiches and brought them on our ski trip to Panorama. Which is the best ski mountain EVER. I will review that ski mountain separately. We also bought pretzel croissants which i thought were cool but my husband didnt think so. Special tip: They sell 'specials' which are yesterday's sandwiches. They are $1 off. read more

If you've ever been to Invermere, chances are VERY high that you've visited Quality Bakery. Known as *THE* bakery in town, this place has been gracing the main strip since the 1950s. You can't miss it... it's got a giant pretzel protruding from the roof... Quality bakery sells organic breads, cakes, cookies, crackers, pastries, sticky buns, turnovers, apple fritters, dog treats, gluten-free foods, coffees, teas, hot chocolates, sandwiches, chocolate, and the list goes on and on. It's a beautiful sight when you walk in and see tables surrounded by freshly baked loaves of bread on one side, and a display case that stretches out almost as far as the eye can see on the other side. The service is excellent and the pricing is beyond reasonable! I'm talking a homemade lunch, freshly baked for under $4! Whether you're spending a couple of nights in Invermere, or whether you're just driving through, take my word for it and be sure to stop in at Quality Bakery. I was so excited to go here-they have a HUGE pretzel outside of it and I love pretzels! Went in and picked up a pretzel and a daily special. My friend wanted a latte and so it caused some confusion. The one barista was super nice and the other one was mean to her. I think the nicer one was new and the other one was getting frustrated. Either way the pretzel wasn't that good and the apple fritter was good but not great. It is not a place I would go back to if I was visiting again...bummer :( read more

We've been coming here about two times a year, for the past 10 years. We vacation in the area in the summer for one week and the winter for one week. As tourists we always like to support small independent local businesses. This place is consistently slow with horrible service. If you can stand waiting in line for 15 minutes for a loaf of bread, the product is ok, but definitely not worth the wait. They underwent some renovations a number of years ago which helped a little with the order flow, but they still miss it. Disorganized behind the counter, and extremely slow. Was in there again recently, waited patiently in line, all the while looking at the staff member sitting in the back doing paperwork, while two employees are bumping into each other out front. Finally got to the front to pay and to my misfortune the phone rang. Cashier turned to me (with my money in hand) and said, I have to take this phone call, and proceeded to deal with the customer on the phone who was placing an order (which I could hear as she repeated it back). I'm glad to see businesses busy, and don't mind waiting for service, but with the disorganization and lack of service I experienced recently, I can't in good conscience reward this business with my hard earned dollars. I won't be coming back. Pastries I'll be getting at Kicking Horse Coffee, and bread I'll be getting up the hill at Hopkins Harvest, both local businesses. read more

Just about anything you can buy here (but you must pick up a bag of their amazing soft pretzels) is just about as good as you can buy at any traditional bakery, period. This bakery is truly a town institution, easily found (as noted by the prior reviewer) through the giant pretzel on the sign above the front door. When you walk in, you'll see a display case filled with delectable delights, from European-style cakes and pastries, to eclectic cheese- and mousse-cakes. It is probably just about impossible to leave here without a bag full of treats for later (heck, they even sell some dog treats!) Delayed review - came here in 2015 for a custom chocolate fudge cake for a bachelorette, as well as a bunch of smaller gluten free treats. The service was excellent, staff was friendly and proceed great customer service when I was placing my pre-order from afar and unable to come in person (I was visiting from Toronto). 4.5 only because of a spelling error on the cake - which they said they could not fix on site for some reason(??). Very disappointing. The coffee rates a C-. You won't want refills. Everything looks appealing visually, but beware .... At first my husband picked out the rhubarb & raspberry strudel cake. The server took it from behind the glass, and then said she couldn't serve it! It disappeared. The whole pan. So we made other choices .... The apple fritter had not one speck of apple in it. The custard tart had almost no custard in it. We should have had a clue, when at 8:30am only one person was in there! Well, on top of that .... the servers were cold, unfriendly and uninvitiing. (Like they woke up on the wrong side of the bed.) The worst part .... we bought a piece of cheesecake to share later in the evening. It's AWFUL cheesecake. How can you ruin cheesecake that much? One bite, and you don't need more. We found out later that QB doesn't even bake on Wednesdays. So everything was day-old, and they didn't even tell us when we were buying. To top it off, they advertise this as a "European-style" bakery, but there is absolutely nothing on the signage above or inside the shop alluding to anything "European".
