If there was a ZERO star this place would earn it. A friend showed me a Craigslist ad for Union BG to work on TURN so I answered it. I received an email after my Sabbath had started on Friday night saying I was SCHEDULED to be in Philly for my interview at 12:45pm Saturday with NO CHANCE of RESCHEDULING! Note that I live in NYC and NO ONE attempted to call me until 12 noon Saturday morning. I didn't retrieve the email nor the message until after Shabbos. I then replied with a detailed explanation of why I 'missed' my scheduled 'audition' (who auditions for BG?). And as of this morning got no response. BUT - and this is rich- I JUST got a phone call from a total 'valley girl' type asking me if I'd "like to act and be in the movies and on TV or be a model!" She had NO idea what I was talking about when I mentioned that I had been contacted. She had NO IDEA who Brooke was (the person that sent the email and called) and assured me that IT PRODUCTIONS wasn't a scam, because she'd been there "a whole week already and would I be here if it was a scam?" She had also never heard of any show called TURN. When I asked if there was a fee to join I was told I'd have to come to their office in Philly to meet with the Director, Elisha, and SHE would tell me all the details. RIGHT. Unfortunately, the 0 star is not an option. I was just out of college looking for something fun to do for a job, and stumbled upon this ad on Craigslist to be a "talent scout". Seemed interesting, so I applied. I got a call to come in and was almost immediately hired on the spot. Long story short, I was told to go out and basically find anyone to come in and I'd get commission. I found lots of people that came through for interviews and found out they literally accepted ANYONE who was willing to pay. Unfortunately for me, I even recruited some friends who got scammed as well. They don't offer you any jobs in the end and just take your money. I also never got paid at any point. She has tried to come at me personally which is mind blowing how EXTREMELY unprofessional it is. I consider myself to be very open minded and I don't take the Internet too seriously so when people post things saying "scam" and such, I take it with a grain of salt. I had been scouted by Wilhemina Philadelphia before which turned out to be a big waste of time so when someone contacted me about the IT Factor, I was wary. I asked Brooke from the IT Factor if this was similar in the sense that I would have to pay $1000+ to get started. Her response word for word was "There are no fees to join our agency if chosen for representation, we cover everything from headshots to submissions and workshops and training." All I can say about that is she 100% lied. I went into the interview which was basically 2.5 hours of one of the managers rambling off about pretty much nothing (telling us how many famous people she's met, personal stories about her bf...). Then they do 1 on 1 interviews and first, she warns you that you better do this and better not do that, then they once again ramble about how great they are talking to us like we are actually 10 year old children. (Mind you, when I walked in I was given a script. I thought this was a mistake bc I was not in there for acting. I asked one of the greeters if that was a mistake and he says "no don't worry about it. It's pretty much just to make sure you can read.") Anyway, there ARE fees to join. Correction, fees to get invited to a party. I stopped paying attention after $795 for the invite, $110 for this, another couple hundred for that. All in all, i wish I could get those 2-3 hours back of my life. They will try to tell you that you need to invest in your business blah blah blah. False, the modeling I've done in the past - THEY PAY YOU. They paid for my composite cards, my time, gas.... Not at the IT Factor. read more

I got stopped on the streets of Doylestown by a girl named Ricki and although I completely fell for the words she said, DON'T. I did my research before actually going into the interview/meeting and decided to cancel my interview. Upon canceling I have gotten numerous harassing phone calls and messages left on my cell phone from this place, even on weekends. Don't fall for it, from what I hear and from what i've read (BBB under VIP talent, and various vipoff sites on both KMM talent, VIP talent and the IT factor), it's really just a waste of time. Definitely not worth the bother. This place is also called KMM talent. A normal manager will get paid AFTER you get paid, they don't get paid BEFORE you do because they can't promise you you'll get a gig/role right afterwards. DO.NOT.TRUST.THEM. They were very rude to me, and only called me to ask for more money. I gave them 100$ and they still wanted more from me. The staff is untrained, with little or no real world work, they want you to work for free so you can prove how dedicated you are - not bad for an owner who keeps everyone on an 'Independant' contractor... Recently, two of my friends were scouts - man, was it rough going for them. They both had bad experiences, had to deal with seriously challenging people who worked there. Waiting for my friends was absolutely painful one evening. There was this chick who hoovered the front desk like Attila the Hun - telling the receptionist what to do and then grabbing papers from future aspiring talent and making comments about who their person was... WTF So we waiting for two hours, listened painfully to an incredibly rehearsed speal - insert yawn. Finally, this director and Attila could only run around and come up with that - ops the checks weren't there - to come back on Thursday... After waiting in the waiting room for hours and seeing this people in action - Is this place really your gateway into a new career? Lousy rating... I love this review - only wish my friends had seen it! All of the negative reviews on this company and it's owner are very much on the mark. I'll note this review with bullet points, as this review will contain direct thoughts, facts, and advice on why this company should be avoided at all costs. -I recently responded to their scouting job ad on Craigslist. Aside from it being clearly a bogus ad, I still thought it would be worth the entertainment of checking it out. The job ad states a base salary of $41,600, but that is absolutely not true. "Salary" means a fixed compensation, and that is not what they are doing with their scouts. Scouts are paid $50 if the person they scout signs up with any one of their companies, which charges the new talent a huge fee for many false promises. One would have to scout many, many, many people just to maybe get to that $41,600 mark, and even then, you are a 1099 contract employee. The amount of time needed to survive using this approach is beyond excessive (worth it if the company was legitimate, but that is not the case). Scouts are encouraged to go to all of the 'happening' places, but of course they have to pay for anything they do. -their 'director', an attractive but pimp, is the present mouthpiece for this employer; while he is at first pleasant, he fully adheres to the 'just take peoples money' view on life. As one who is setting an example for the company, he will dodge questions in order to just keep the new scouts blinded by incomplete information. -the owner herself will present herself as a bubbly but focused individual, who freely admits that you have to be cutthroat in order to succeed. Presenting one's image in an informal manner with new employees does not set a good formal understanding of what the company is. The manner in which she treats potential customers was beyond rude. She did not individually introduce herself to the new staff. -the amount of name dropping this company does, and their correlating success stories, is very repetitive and misleading. While there are a few low level 'celebrities' in their ranks now, the massive barrage of industry speak does not lead to anything overwhelmingly substantial. If you choose to, try listening to who they know and more importantly, HOW they know them, and you will soon see it is more like a combination of Facebook, Mean Girls, and an OxyClean infomercial all rolled into one big blur of insincerity and disinformation. I just love they placed 15 peeps in the final episode of 'Glee" ...REALLY? -this company will hit anyone they talk to with a "if you're not 100% into being famous, you are crap approach, and the owner herself takes that to a very high level. DONT FALL FOR IT!!!! This company is very good at what they do. SCAMMING PEOPLE!! & to think I almost fell for it. For starters they reel you in by saying how they hate to see innocent and naive people getting scammed all the time by fake agencies, who end up taking people's money with nothing in return. This place is a total waste of time and money! I went in for an interview because a friend recommended me. First of all their open call is in a meeting room, where they talk a bunch of bull about what their company is about, basically trying to get you to buy into their agency. They are strictly a business with no fashion or modeling world knowledge. Ryan Colby has basically no affiliation with this company. You submit your pictures on Colby models website not the "it factors". This is not a normal open call. I have been to prestigious agency's open calls in nyc and all you do is wait for a long time until you are seen one on one with an agent. They could careless if you know nothing about their agency and how it "works". I go for my second interview (which I'm pretty sure they give to everyone). I was scheduled for 6:45 yet I wasn't seen until 8:10. A lady with a horrible fashion sense and a stern, angry look comes out. She does not apologize or barely say much. I had a "private interview" that she was a hour and a half late for. I found this very ironic since the guy preached about professionalism and gave a whole speech about a model being late for a casting...VERY ironic. It was so late that the other workers had gone home and turned off lights an music. I was with my friend and she started to follow me back (she has been with me to other one on one interviews in NYC), the lady in the horrible pink sweater immediately asks if she's my mother in such a sarcastic way that I almost turned around and walked out. Obviously my 18 year old friend, who is obviously my age isn't my mother. When i said no she continued to ask is that your significant other? In a mockery tone, as if she was prejudice against lesbians! I found this all ironic since she had earlier walked out of her office with a teenage boy who had his entire family with him....so much for your mother or significant other... Anyway she was rude the whole time because she knew that I did not have the money to pay for things, she knew this because she read the questionnaire prior. I was told at the first interview by the first guy ( who is a secretary apparently!!) that she will work with me to make sure I can afford things. I am 5'8.5 and have 33-24-26 measurements. I have freelanced modeled in philadelphia since August 2012. I have been published in NYC magazines such as the GOODs and worked with many,many designers. Anyway after i told her that I was looking to go with colby she said well like you just said "you are too short and your hips are too big." With that I told her I was not interested and thanked her for her time. As I was walking out the building she glared me down. She wanted a reaction out of me so badly! It killed her that I was so polite. She was the most unprofessional woman I have ever encountered. Please do not pay this place money. Yes, a model does need to invest in their career but this is not until they are making money!!! They preach how every agency takes money from you. The difference is if an agency wants you they will spot you up front and get the money back once you are actually making the money and being successful. This place is a ripoff. They know nothing about the modeling world, whether it be fashion or commercial. They only want your money, and the "vp" did not do a good job of selling their "product" either! It was stupid . and then when I tried to cancel with them they wouldn't stop billing me . I had to email Goldie and tell her I would be taking legal action if the billing wouldn't stop. They aren't professional there at all and to sign up using $1100 then billed $40 on going every month . Hell no . I wish I never wasted my money in the first place . It's beyond me... First of all, I show up and I thought it was a brothel. No, literally...on South Street in Philly. Locks on the doors. Smoke shops & cheesesteak places across the way. This isn't even a legitimate office. The bathroom is dirty. Oh, and be sure to turn of your cell phones because any pic of this place would surely scare away potential clients. All the employees get paid to create "enrollments." This is how it works..$100/enrollment, $800/week if you get 5. Thus if a talent scout tells you they are going to connect you...be wary. Connect you? That's laughable. They just, want you suckers to pay to attend a networking event so that you THEY get paid. Someone tells your kid is cute and they want $995 from you to get contacts? What contacts? Alycia Kaback also flaunts her list of supposedly-exclusive VIPS who have the drive to connect with her people at "the highest level." The highest level of what? That's a joke... Sorry, but just because someone is going to a seminar or networking event doesn't mean anything will happen. Also, what would behoove an industry "executive" to come to one of her events? In PHILLY? I signed with KMM in September of '14. I found a casting call on Film.org for a Microsoft commercial, so I submitted. They called me, and when I turned up to their offices, they informed me it was an open call. I was not happy about it, but I figured I was there, so I might as well stay. Just like everyone else, there was the long lecture, the belittling, etc. They didn't get as much up-front money from me as a lot of people because I had just put a large downpayment on my first car the day before and didn't want to part with much more money. I went in for a workshop a few weeks later, and after telling me I had an appointment with my manager Goldie beforehand, when I arrived, they told me she was "too busy" to see me. Another women was waiting for Goldie as well and I saw the woman ask Goldie if they would still be meeting that day. Goldie actually LAUGHED and said, "Well, THAT won't be happening." Apparently, their makeup artist for the headshots they were doing that day hadn't shown up, so she was doing makeup. Since Goldie couldn't meet with me, the receptionist told me I could get my (apparently free) headshots taken. I told her I didn't need any- I had three good, professional ones that had been done just a few months ago, and besides, I was dressed for the workshop, not for headshots. She said, "Oh, don't worry- the picture's just from your chin up!" No. No no no no no. The only casting calls I ever had emailed to me were hair shows. I am not a model. I am short and chubby, and what's more, I told Alycia that I was not there to be a model of any kind. Plus, if I got my hair cut in any drastic way, I'd have to get new headshots. The staff has always been rude- in person and over the phone. When I was signing my contract, the receptionist Ashley was so mush-mouthed I couldn't understand a word she said and had to ask her to repeat herself multiple times. Every time, she sighed annoyedly and repeated the same unintelligible thing, just louder. It was this rudeness that eventually drove me out. Just remember that THEY work for YOU, not the other way around. Right now, I'm trying to get them to stop illegally charging my card after I officially, in writing, severed my contract with them. read more

Firstly I would like to say my experience with the it factor has been nothing short of phenomenal! The staff and talent assistants are awesome and they really are super selective of their talent. They have some awesome castings and really know who to network you with to propel your career. They have connections and ties with industry experts such as Robert Russell , Santino Fontana, and Brandon Steiner to name a few all of whom who deserve their own praise for the level of professionalism and network they bring to the table. They help you with everything from getting to your first casting to actually coaching you and guiding you to your first SAG-AFTRA job or big modeling job. In addition to the staff there alumni and network of talent are also really helpful I had the pleasure of meeting a few of the other talent at the office and on set and they are all really cool and helpful people I just started out in the industry and they did not look down at me at all instead they helped me out and walked me through how to become SAG accredited and steps to getting my first waivers. I was approached in Philly & told to go to the office on South St, called "The IT Factor". The preliminary meeting was a total bore, watching a glammed over movie about the company is just a selling tactic. Attended about 3 additional meetings till I finally decided to give them a try. Payed several months of dues w/ no word from them, till finally I was told to go to their Trevose office & set up a photo shoot in order to improve on my resume. I finally was called to attend an audition, which I was picked. Though it was a successful experience for me, I was never paid. After several months of unresponsive e-mails, they finally told me I missed a month of dues so I actually owed them. They cancelled my contract that day & severed ties. The It Factor, KMM, Colby Models, VIP Talent Connect = Crooks! Colby, Alicia & Goldie are all clueless, old wanna-be stars who obviously missed their shot so they are exploiting the talents of the young & inexperienced. read more

Here's one way they run their scam -- You're in the mall, minding your own business, and a couple of young women approach, asking, "Are you a model? No? Well, do you want to be? You sure look like one!!" How flattering to any teen or person in his/her 20s. These people prey on young people, their dreams, their egos. They then ask you to come in for an interview, in which they flatter you more, saying how you look "Italian or French or Russian", just what is needed in the modeling industry! The It Factor (or Colby Modeling) is not a booking agent which can get you jobs: it holds "networking sessions" at which it alleges you'll meet players in the industry who can get you work!! And, they'll even show you a video of some guy who used their service and is now a working actor!! (nobody's ever heard of him). Of course, it all turns out to be a scam to get you to pay money ($695 in our case) for those valuable "networking sessions". Don't have $695? Don't worry: you can work full-time for them, trolling for other vulnerable, hopeful kids in the mall. It's a heartbreaking thing to get anyone's hopes up like this -- and shameful that VIP Talent Connect/The It Factor/Colby Modeling can still get away with it. read more

They do that and brainwash you for a while as Alycia Kaback the CEO talks and talks and compares this investment as the same kind of commitment in going to college which is complete BS. After her long speech everyone gets a 2 MINUTE interview where someone looks at you and asks you like one question. then you "may or may not" get a 2nd interview. I got invited to come back... I'm pretty sure EVERYONE got the 2nd interview even though they say only a few lucky ones get it out of the entire room Alycia said out of the 3,000 people they see per month they only keep around 100 people. BS!! SCAM. SCAM. SCAM. I thought the 2nd interview would be them actually INTERVIEWING me where they ask me about my skills.. and demonstrate.. sing or try out a reading from a scene or something. but no to my surprise I am meeting with a Sales Rep in her office who hustles me to make a $695 "investment in myself" so that I can be put in their online portfolio and have my photos professionally taken etc. Even though I was reluctant she kept pressuring me to make the financial commitment. She said I had to make at least $295 deposite that day to proceed... then she kept saying how i had to make that decision right then and there asking me questions like if you can't commit to this, if you have to run this with your family, etc then how can we expect you do follow through with any of the jobs we find you? and what not. Later she says I have to at least put in $100 deposite so that they can keep my application in their system and that a lot of people go through here and don't have time for people who aren't willing to commit.... All of the negative reviews on this company and it's owner are very much on the mark. I'll note this review with bullet points, as this review will contain direct thoughts, facts, and advice on why this company should be avoided at all costs. -I recently responded to their scouting job ad on Craigslist. Aside from it being clearly a bogus ad, I still thought it would be worth the entertainment of checking it out. The job ad states a base salary of $41,600, but that is absolutely not true. "Salary" means a fixed compensation, and that is not what they are doing with their scouts. Scouts are paid $100 if the person they scout signs up with any one of their companies, which charges the new talent a huge fee for many false promises. One would have to scout many, many, many people just to maybe get to that $41,600 mark, and even then, you are a 1099 contract employee. The amount of time needed to survive using this approach is beyond excessive (worth it if the company was legitimate, but that is not the case). Scouts are encouraged to go to all of the 'happening' places, but of course they have to pay for anything they do. -their 'director', an attractive but clueless blonde, is the present mouthpiece for this employer; while she is at first pleasant, she fully adheres to the 'just take peoples money' view on life. As one who is setting an example for the company, she will dodge questions in order to just keep the new scouts blinded by incomplete information. -the owner herself will present herself as a bubbly but focused individual, who freely admits that you have to be cutthroat in order to succeed. Presenting one's image in an informal manner with new employees does not set a good formal understanding of what the company is. The manner in which she treats potential customers was beyond rude. She did not individually introduce herself to the new staff. -the amount of name dropping this company does, and their correlating success stories, is very repetitive and misleading. While there are a few low level 'celebrities' in their ranks now, the massive barrage of industry speak does not lead to anything overwhelmingly substantial. If you choose to, try listening to who they know and more importantly, HOW they know them, and you will soon see it is more like a combination of Facebook, Mean Girls, and an OxyClean infomercial all rolled into one big blur of insincerity and disinformation. -this company will hit anyone they talk to with a "if you're not 100% into being famous, you are shit" approach, and the owner herself takes that to a very high level. The tactic of appearing so 'exclusive' and 'busy' can only go so far, and when you demean the people you are directly talking to, it creates an overwhelmingly negative vibe in all aspects. Everything I saw in the short time there I predicted would happen, and I saw several people ejected from their open call in such a callous manner that it only affirmed the many red flags already present. While I know that sometimes you have to appear 'over focused', it was how the owner treated strangers that helped me to affirm that this was really just a bunch of crooks and to not spend any more time there. If a potential customer is treated horribly, does an employee expect to be treated fairly, let alone be paid on time, if paid at all? Uh, no. I don't need such a trash culture in my life. -further research into this company will bring up things like this company being featured in a Dateline news story about how corrupt the business is, along with many bad reviews. The amount of negative reviews in various forums is the summary of this operation. Rather scary, as the game will never end, and it just keeps reinventing itself. -the moral of the story is, use the word of mouth of the ones you really trust if you are pursuing your dreams of being in show business. Acting like a foul mouth individual (yes, they do curse in front of new and potential customers, which does not set a good initial professional vibe) does not make you cool, professional, and most importantly, credible. Believe it or not, having customers you reject walk away with a positive experience will only GROW your business; demeaning others in the manner this company operates in is absurd, comical, and absolutely not needed. Having D/C/B list celebrities in your ranks, pseudo name dropping, and an overall ambiguous record of performance, doesn't make this company any more credible. -if you are looking for an agent, or any manager or business entity that can help you with entering the show business industry, do your due diligence. Take some time to review who the key players. Study the industry a bit. Get your resources lined up. It will save you a little bit of headache, and hopefully avoid operations like this company. read more

Well, well, well.... I did pay the $595 to join KMM, with no promises made, was sent on four casting calls since. Was on the It Factor radio show once and was asked to be on a radio show in NYC. Had to turn it down because it conflicted with work my daughter was doing. I had photos done and my dauhgter has gotten work. Its amazing how you think people work for nothing. Its amazing how people think that they get something for nothing. They operate under different names because they are a few different companies that do different things. DUH!! the It Factor is a radio show. VIP Talent is the talent management company for actors and musicans and they run the summits, which we have been to and they are fabulous!! Colby Models is the high fashion end run my Ryan Colby and KMM is the kaback Model Management co. run By Alycia Kaback. Alycia Kaback also runs a womens empowerment Summit which is quite fabulous. With a dozen women in different fields talking and presenting themselves to other woman who are interested in making it in business. Not just modeling or show business. All Business. If you applied yourself and invested in your child or yourself, you would succeed. But apparently you or your child wasnt worth the effort. Mine is and she is thriving. She went from a bullied middle schooler to a wonderful, excited, confident, outgoing teen. Who holds down a job, models on the side, does volunteer work and has over come many obsticles. So I put a few dollars out for that. I would put out nmuch more to make my child reach her potential. You should invest in your child. They are worth it. You have to invest money to make money. Everyone at The It Factor Productions has been so helpful since day one. I always loved being in my school plays and when I got older I started modeling. I never thought I could actually make a career out of the two. When I found out REACH represented not only models and actors but singers and dancers as well, I knew this was the place for me. So many other companies just wanted me to sign up to be a model. They are helping me get in front of the right casting directors so I can work towards becoming SAG eligible. I have been to a few of the workshops they have had which are fun because I get to meet new people and always run into friends I made on set and it also means I get to go in and see everyone in the office! She is 5-10, has done some modeling on both coasts but not on a large scale. I challenged her to pursue a plan and find a firm you can trust to help teach, coach, and help pursue her dream. She is an attractive native So Cal kid. She locate this firm on line and reached out to them.Here it comes. Ali, the represented owner, who is not the owner ( big lie #1, pre meditation)told her that for $2400.00, plus $800 on a portfolio shot. Remember, I live in California and their in Phili. Ali herself, because their firm has been looking for that so. Cal look and rarely find it in Philadelphia, told me she would take her under their wing and coach her thru the process. (Yes, she had seen photos of my daughter at this time).Also emphasizing how critical entry level is in this business and their vast reach and experience is the perfect fit to her plan which she absolutely bring to her Dad. She drank the cool aid bad. I mean, " daddy this firm is what I have been looking for". Bad. Soooooo..I called to qualify.... I wanted to speak to the owner. My main concern was that the experience for my daughter was as represented so her dreams would not be affected by her first relationship in this field. I didn't have a problem on the fee, I only wanted the best for my daughter. I spoke to Ali. I got the, "how she built this company from scratch, how her dad is a big lawyer and she understood the daddy, daughter relationship thing." Poured it on for two days. Maybe a combined talk time of 5 hours. I'm a tough sell. I WANTED THE BEST FOR MY DAUGHTER. This Ali sales liar convinced me they would provide that and my hat off to her, she lied well!!! She was a good phone sells woman. I explained over and over how it was the experience and the coaching and the entry level was huge in self esteem, decision process, expenses(travel), etc... She convinced my her firm needed to build her portfolio. Ok, sounded ok at some high number so I sent her. Ok experience. Then the New York bullshit event. ( second huge lie#2 this is where they zinged my daughter bad). If you reach out to them and they go down that road, read this review again. After lie #2, and a very humiliated daughter, Ali, the fake owner/ commission phone liar, disappeared. Shocking!! As a business owner I know the games. I complained, they did the different voice gig, then they try and turn it and make it your fault, we all know this road who do reviews. I tell you, this company is worse then bad because not only do they steal your money, ( around the $5000), they are messing with dreams of young people who are fragile and confused in finding direction at this age. Companies like this affect their industry, affects the client on over selling and delivering zero. (Going off the grid/ avoid the lie).They affect dreams, and the way at least my daughter sees people. Yes a lesson she would eventually learn, but not now. Not at the beginning. This company is a HUGE scam. Do not fall for it. I was approached by a so-called talent scout a couple of months back and went to the interview. After they tried to sell their sales pitch, they invited certain individuals back for a second interview. I was one of them. First of all, they made us wait 3 hours in the waiting room to talk to this girl for 5 minutes, where she proceeded to try and coax us into joining their "agency", which it is anything but. They basically give you a contract with them if you first pay them a thousand some dollars. No modeling agency should have you pay them upfront like that. After I talked with the first girl, I was sent to their employee who handled the finances. Because she was talking in circles and confusing me with all of the information, I asked if I could take the paperwork home to think about it. She outright told me "No, you can't". They made me sign on the spot. I should have been allowed to look over the paperwork in order to make a decision on what I wanted to do. Instead, they made me sign under pressure. They are taking advantage of innocent people hoping to make a start in the entertainment business by making false promises. All they are interested in is your money, and if you won't give it to them, they don't want you. So please, don't waste your time and effort on even giving them a second thought. They are a scam, their business is a lie. read more

If I could give it less stars, I would. Applied for a job posting through Indeed, and it was scheduled like a cattle call. Not only that, but I applied for an office admin. job, and was told they were only hiring "talent scouts" and at a drastically different salary than advertised through the job listing. That alone says enough about them and their so called "success stories". Go to a SAG/AFTRA accredited agency and save yourself the time. read more
