Service we great I had fish sandwich on sourdough roll the fish was crunchy and roll soft. For the items they have on the menu in general, they are pretty hard to mess up, so I would say that everything that I have ordered was done properly, just not spectacular. I was satisfied with everything I have gotten, for a relatively reasonable price. I will say, though, that the mozzarella sandwich is slightly underwhelming because the vegetables around it seemed to just be placed there to be minimally edible. But the sandwich itself was pretty good, with mozzarella and balsamic vinegar constituting the taste. I enjoyed the full English breakfast, although it was slightly more expensive than the equivalent I have had elsewhere, maybe because the establishment was right next to the Tower of London, but that's okay. The food was solid and allowed me to have a good experience. For those around the area ready for a quick bite, and visiting the Tower of London, I would recommend this place. read more

I wanted to go local with fish & chips after an awesome visit to the London Castle. These people made a great job fixing a delicious fish & chips. Well breaded, great color and excellent fries (chips). They have a set of tables and chairs out side as well that makes it a place with a great environment to hangout. This was our first meal of the day. The scrambled eggs were fresh and tasty. The eggs in the UK just taste better than in the states. The gamon was served cold, so of course I asked them to heat it up. It was fresh and a quality piece of meat. The other entree was a traditional English breakfast minus the blood pudding. Stopped in for breakfast before my flight out of London. It was a few minutes walk from our hotel near the river. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside. Our family of four was visiting London from the US and stopped in here for lunch after a trip to the Tower of London. Byward Kitchen and Bar is actually a quiet, laid back café attached to a very old and beautiful little church! I have to say that it kind of amuses me that a well stocked bar is attached to a church! Anyways, we came here one morning because it was open quite early and about a 5 minute walk from our hotel. It took us a moment to find, but once you go inside there is a cozy little dining area within. We both ordered a Full English (breakfast, 9 gbp). The food was very tasty and satisfying. The ham and mushrooms were done very well, and of course the banger (sausage) and baked beans were also very delicious. The plate also comes with hash browns, tomato, toast, eggs, blood sausage, and bacon. A lot more food than it may at first appear! The young lady working there was quiet and polite. We were the only people in the place 20 minutes after it opened, so service was good. :) Byward Kitchen and Bar is a nice, quiet laid back place to enjoy a satisfying breakfast at a fair price. Amazing place, the food was absolutely what you would want to try when visiting London. My dad got the full English breakfast and I got the blueberry pancake which were both excellent. The ambiance here was just perfect, it's kind of tucked away but I imagine when it's busy you'll see a line out the door. The wait staff was also a 10/10 very friendly and efficient with getting our food to the table! It was fish tenders on a ciabatta roll with very little tartar sauce and what they called a salad was field greens with a drizzle of some sort of unnamed salad dressing (not listed on menu ) it was pretty hot outside so I drank my water and pineapple juice, and ready for a refill.... and five minutes 10 minutes, 20 minutes passed, and Oh wait - I'm done eating... and even more thirsty after the thick bread and skimpy fish sticks. Finally got my full English breakfast! The cafe and service were lovely. I've been so excited to try it and overall it was a hearty and heavy experience. Why I was here // located right next to the Tower if London, and as tourists we wanted to eat somewhere nearby so we can hit up the attraction Atmosphere // we ate there around 10am on a Tuesday. Stayed around Tower Hill during my visit to London, wanted a traditional English breakfast, and was lucky to find this cute spot within walking distance to my hotel! The entrance is slightly tucked away and hard to find. When you get close you'll see this beautiful space with large floor to ceiling windows, but the entrance is actually around on the side. Lighting is amazing inside thanks to all the big windows, the space inside is super nice & open. Service was very friendly albeit slightly slow, we were a bit worried about getting to our next destination on time, so plan accordingly. I got the Full English Breakfast while my friend got the regular English Breakfast with a side of avocados. Wasn't amazing but everything was solid. Was my first time trying black pudding and it was yummy, flavor wasn't as intense as I expected. The portion isn't super big compared to in America. We finished everything no problem. We wanted a 'traditional London breakfast' and found this spot close to our hotel. We were heading to the airport and brought our bags and were seated immediately. There was a spot for us to tuck away our luggage as we ate which was nice. We both ordered the traditional breakfast. The wait for our food was much longer than expected, about 35 minutes and we were in a rush so we had to scarf it down pretty quickly. The waiter mentioned the kitchen cooks by table in order which could explain the slower kitchen. I also wish it had a little more salt/flavor but they had salt on the table so I could season to taste. It did taste fresh and just made though which was nice. i also asked for hot sauce and the waiter brought one of his personal recipe sauces over and gave a nice, detailed explanation of the flavoring/ingredients. It was really nice! We had to wrap up quickly since we were heading for the airport. Yelp 100 Challenge 2017 80/100 This cute little restaurant was right across from our apartment so we went on the last day, with all of our luggage. The outside seating area is nice and is nearly the same size as inside. I thought the food was fine- nothing amazing but the prices were reasonable. I tried the big breakfast. I cannot get use to the "bacon", which is more like ham, but too gamey for me. The orange juice tastes really artificial. One thing that stood out for me here was that the waiter was really friendly. Really great back patio, fantastic service and really credible food made it exactly what we were looking for for a quick lunch before our Tower of London tour. Really enjoyed the very traditional fish and chips - fish was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Bangers and mash was also a hit from across the table as were a number of the other - some not as traditional - menu items that we sampled. From it's location, to its architecture all the way to its tasteful yet limited menu. Service is exceptional, staff is so welcoming, willing and helpful. As well, their beer selection is just right, perfect to pair with a sample plate of olives, warm bread and olive oil. This little place is tucked away from the street sides and it makes it surprisingly quaint and chill. It is nice and has lots of seating options to be like a bar, a cafe, or formal dining. Trendy and dainty venue for brunch right in the heart of the city. My friend and I were looking for a sit down restaurant to eat at on a Sunday, which seems to be quite difficult in London, and finally happened upon this place. It's a bit hidden and easy to walk by, but I'm glad we found it! The food was pretty good but nothing special. I got the full English breakfast, which is filling and flavorful but lots of meat! My friend went for the vegetarian breakfast, which seemed to have smaller portions, especially because she dropped her egg on the floor :((( Our server was really nice but had a hard time understanding us. We had to ask for the check after waiting about 20 minutes, then my friend asked if she could pay with an American Express card, clearly showing her the card. The server came back with two Americanos and a check that included the extra costs. Thankfully, they took back the coffees and removed that cost after we clarified even further what we were asking, but it was a bit of an ordeal. I feel bad that the server didn't understand us, but left kind of annoyed because we were quite clear with our nonverbal communication, something that she should've picked up on. Overall, Byward is a nice and quiet escape from the city, but the experience was a bit lacking. Had there not been so much confusion and wasted time, I would've given them 4 stars because the food was pretty decent and the location is great. read more
