This place is a hidden gem! Truly a step back in time when you walk into the museum with really cool artifacts from Ella Fitzgerald and others. So many interesting things to see. After looking around a bit you make your way up two flights of stairs to an unbelievable jazz room with a stage. It was truly a shock to see how big and beautiful it was! The music was fantastic and there was some comedy in there too. I felt like I was in time capsule. It was a surprise date night and it was by far the best date I've ever been on! there is no food, but there are bags of chips and popcorn to purchase along with wine or beer. Amazing date night, HIGHLY recommend especially if you love a classy night out with some jazz music.

Over the years we've seen some incredible performances over the year, from Vic DiBitetto - Tara Cannistraci, Christmas performances to various concerts. Did I mention free parking? I mean, you have free parking at Westbury Music fare but its a nightmare once the concert is over. At The Staller Center, everyone leaves in an orderly fashion, there's no rushing after you leave the performance. Hey, we're polite in Stony Brook! The Staller Center has a very nice seating arrangement. The seats are positioned where you aren't contorting to the side if a giant sits in front of you. The acoustics for the theatre are also of high quality, I heard iLUMINATE rock this theatre with their amazing sound! We're all proud of our town and The Staller Center for the Arts is the crown jewel of the neighborhood.

Our family and friends have not stopped talking about how amazing the quality of their music is. When I asked my planner about live music for our ceremony, she didn't hesitate to name NY Ceremony Music. After experiencing them in person, I could never dream of looking for another duo to make our wedding dreams come true. Their selection of songs is chock full of variety and sensational hits. Their ability to play with one another is truly magical - it was the perfect soundtrack for a fairytale experience. Both of them were beyond kind and hands down, a pleasure to work with. If you're searching for an outrageous live performance during your ceremony and cocktail hour, look no further! We are so blessed to have had such a fantastic musical score there for our big day. Thank you so much Randy and Topu!

My husband and I wanted something unique for the ceremony so we decided to go with live musicians. I did my research through wedding blogs and gigmasters.com and found this duo cello and guitar players. I pretty much knew they would be the ones to play at the wedding ceremony based on the samples they have recorded on their website. My picks were "Flightless Bird", "Fools Rush In" and "I'm Yours." Since I hired them only for the ceremony portion, it was pretty easy to work with them. We never met in person until the day of but we communicated via e-mail and phone conversations, which were very prompt and concise. On the day of the wedding, they both came on time and were absolutely professional. They played the pieces beautifully and I still can't stop listening to their samples on their website.

Most little girls dream of their wedding day and all of the perfect little details that go with it…read more Well, I can tell you - I wasn't one of those girls. However, the one thing that I did always dream of was having a string quartet at my wedding. Maybe it was those two years of viola in middle school...or maybe it is just something about the culmination of the strings coming together that is just so beautiful... We found Luminous Sounds while at a bridal event after having gotten recently engaged in spring of 2015. After listening and meeting with them, we knew we had to have them play for our wedding. Kim was probably the best and easiest vendor we communicated with from the get-go. She made everything so EASY and was always there if we had any questions on anything. The music they play ranges from classical to upbeat, pop and contemporary. How many grooms can say they walked down to Taylor Swift's (hubby's secret guilty pleasure...shhhh) "Love Story"? They even learned a song for me to walk down to by one of my favorite all-time bands, The Decemberists (The Hazards of Love 4). For whatever reason, the excitement of the day, my dad walking me too fast down the aisle..I didn't get to really hear this song, but it's all okay. Even the photographer commented on how great they were and that they played Metallica while people got to their seats. All in all, the perfect background to our ceremony and the music tailored to our tastes and preferences. We couldn't be happier, and highly recommend Luminous Sounds string quartet - a superbly talented group of women.
