Let's start with a 1-Star rating because my previous visit was fine, otherwise a 0-star visit if that's possible. Today I walked in and was assigned Dr. Clark. His arrogance and machismo vibe was not only offensive, he all but shamed me for not knowing how my 65 year old body functions after 40 years of hip issues and successful treatments. Yet he knew different and it was my fault for not being treated regularly and that was the cause of all my issues. (Of course it is not, and every few years I get out of alignment and typically one treatment works.) When I asked him what he planned on doing to me, he said, "Don't you know what we do here? Have you been here before? Yes, I am going to "crack-crack" that's all. (His exact words)." as if he was scolding his child. When I confirmed that's all he did because I was treated with other techniques at a different Joint, he said,"Then maybe this is not for you." Every bit of this exchange was unnecessary and he could have easily answered my questions and proceeded to help me. I am so glad he did not and I dodged a figurative bullet. read more

I guess the normal front desk guy quit so the guy working the front desk said he couldn't input a new patient in the system. He could've called another office and had them walk him through it or made some attempt but nope maybe don't allow people to schedule new patient appointments if you can't accommodate them but he probably doesn't know how to do that either. read more

Hours state closes at 5pm. My back just went out, I was hurting and badly needed an adjustment, I rushed and got there at 4:30pm, there were two people waiting. I was told they are not taking anymore patients, and was told the doctors said no more patients as they won't get out until 6pm? SO, why not lock the door and close the front office? Every business closes the doors when advertised. You stay over, you serve your patrons in the establishment, that's normal. You still get paid. When I objected, I was told their hours for tommorow. YES, I know your hours....and I know now they are not accurate. Take the last patient and close it early or stay open to 5pm as you say you are. If you're in pain get there at least an hour before closing and maybe you'll get lucky, or told we are open but NOT open for business 30 mins. before closing. read more

I was skeptical but my sister and mom both go so they signed me up. I have literally never had to wait, get seen right away. They address only one or two issues though. My old chiro adjusted full body every time. Her, the don't do that. They ask what bothers and only do that. You don't get to choose your chiro, I have asked and they just send you back. I mean I guess it's good so you can get a variety of different providers. And they are VERY different! Some are soft, some aggressive, some just do pressure point therapy or stretching and no manipulation, some use the activator tool, some offer at home remedies some don't. They have told me that they rotate around Orange County so don't have set schedules at specific offices. They don't require images at all, not exactly sure how that works. No diagnosis are made and with each different chiro they offer their own different theory as to what they think is going on. It's definitely affordable. And they have offices everywhere. It's for sure a new age of chiropractic! As long as I don't feel pinched nerves and can walk and bend over, I'm good! read more

So this response truly speaks to their ethics. There is no need to hint HIPAA laws. I literally went there one single time, signed up for a regular membership at my neighbors recommendation and got hurt by a large female adjuster. I immediately attempted to cancel, which their system show I only went once and wanted to cancel, but any business training tells you to rely on these membership mistakes to steal extra money. It's an ethics test that they clearly failed. They know I went once, they know I immediately attempted to cancel and they know they don't deserve the additional membership fees that weren't used. The offered 2 months out of 7 to be refunded for full transparency, which these corporate hacks lack. read more

My once a week visit starts off with a welcomed smile and greet from the moment I walk in the door. Check in is a breeze and the past few times I have visited have been a quick "table one is ready for you." With no or minimal wait time in the lobby. (I am lucky enough to go during non-peak hours. The staff are so patient with my toddlers who usually have to join me. My special needs son has a hard time seeing me be adjusted and sometimes freaks out when the masters of pop start working on my back and they are always kind and explain that I am safe and reassure it's okay. Amanda set up consult with Dr McDonald who proceeded to give me an attitude the moment I walked in wanting to make me feel as if I should apologize for not treating my back sooner. I explained to this angry man that I set up an appointment to get the initial consult, exam and adjustment for the $30 initial fee that they advertised. The moment this very unprofessional man I found out that I came to pay 30 bucks to get the adjustment immediately put things into place to prevent me from getting the adjustment he explaining to me that he needed to get x-rays first. He wasted my time and I told him that he wasted my time and then he decided to angrily kick me out of their office!!! They want your money and that's it. He did not genuinely want to help.. for representation of a firm that doesn't even offer to accept your insurance which I have an amazing GOLD PPO Blue Shield. I had recently started to run more as part of my quest to get fit, unfortunately I ended up overworking myself and my hips shifted. I tried to self medicate at home with stretching and ice but it kept getting worse. I was extremely hesitant to go to the chiropractor as I have always heard negative things. I did the 29 dollar new patient offer, I sat with dr.g during my first visit and he made me feel so comfortable and explained in detail what was happening with my body and what an adjustment really does and why it's important. After my first adjustment it was like night and day. I ended up getting the monthly membership (dr.g was also very up front about pricing and how long I would need to be treated and the cancellation process ) I truly see the value in coming here. I love The Joint! So far I've only been to the Aliso location and I have yet to be disappointed. I love being able to walk in for an adjustment and walk out feeling like a whole new person. The chiropractors are thorough and make you feel so comfortable, and the front desk staff does such a great job at checking you in and answering questions with such patience. Be cautious of a deceitful business practice. I signed up for a package deal and used it for a few months. After my last session in my plan I stopped going there. To my surprise- After my last session in my plan- they continued to charge my card for eight more months. When I called to explain the misunderstanding ( and I take responsibility for not reading my statement line by line), I was told that it auto-renews and they would not refund me. I pointed out that as a responsible business, they should have noticed my absence over the last eight months and at least give me a quick call to see why I was absent for 8 months. Their response was shocking, saying they have many members and that they do not care who comes in as long as they can charge the credit card. This unethical business practice is disappointing because I had no issues with the service. Unfortunately, they prioritize chasing pennies over earning a bad reputation. This might be a small gain on their part, but someone reading this post -will make the right choice- to take their business elsewhere UPDATE on 10/03/2024 As they mentioned in their response, I wanted to talk to someone and tried to call their Corporate office. Let me warn you, Do not bother calling, as nobody answers!!! I wanted to call the office ( local ) to see what they mean by further discussion in their response. Oh boy, The receptionist was disruptive and unprofessional she would not even let me speak. It was so pitiful! I had to calm her down multiple times to ask if her manager could call me today in between her VERY busy schedule. I had the feeling that they try to overwhelm you, so you would give up. When I asked to speak with the manager, I was told she was in meetings in San Diego. I asked her direct line; the answer was, "They can not share the number." I asked her to call me back; let's see what happens. I am still trying to understand how dismissive this business is! Do they know California's automatic renewal law? As a business person myself I have my mobile number on my business card. I guess you need to be confident about what you do to share your number. So, I am waiting for someone to call me. read more

I showed up at 2 o'clock to get a simple neck and shoulder adjustment. They said the weight would be 30 minutes so considering I have a dog to give pills to at 3 o'clock and I live 15 minutes away I decided to wait. That wait turned into an hour wait, making me late to give my dog her pills but I decided to stay anyway because my neck and shoulder we're very uncomfortable. And however, when the doctor finally called me back at 3 o'clock, he said that I needed updated paperwork which I could've done for the entire hour that I was sitting there doing nothing. He passed me back to the receptionist to have me fill out some things on a tablet, and he took another client . She had me sign some liability waivers that I didn't even read and put me back in queue to be next, but the doctor said that he needed me to do all of the paperwork not just updated liability. Instead of walking me through the process, she just hands me the tablet and continues checking in people when there's an hour, waiting room of nearly 10 people and clearly it was more of a priority to make sure that the person who just got skipped finishes whatever they need from me and gets back ASAP. There were a couple times that the thing glitched, and I had to wait for her to check in someone new before I could even ask her a question causing the doctor to take yet another person before me . By 3:18 PM I had to leave because I was already going to be 30 minutes late giving my dog her pills and I had an appointment somewhere else at 3:45 PM and I wasn't about to let them ruin the entire rest of my day when I had already sat there for over 75 minutes . I feel the doctor could have just had me sign the updated liability forms and asked me where my pain was. The additional paperwork I filled out on the tablet was asking nothing more than where is your pain anyway. I also feel that the receptionist should have remained attentive to me, making sure that whatever the doctor & current patient required was done quickly. I ended up leaving because I literally could not wait one more minute and that's not even being dramatic. I thought there for 75 minutes for nothing . I'll still need to go see a different chiropractor tomorrow . read more

I saw Dr. Sean Clark Friday afternoon, August 4. I had arm pain. Dr. Clark performed some tests with my arm and shoulder. After this he recommended that I see my medical doctor for an x-ray as he felt adjusting me at that point could possibly cause my injury to be worse. He also recommended I use an ice pack for pain. I am in process of getting that appointment now. I really appreciate his advice in this situation. He was professional and gentle. read more

Here's what I will tell you. Dr G was fantastic and absolutely helped me feel better. However, neither me nor any of my family members will return here or to any other locations in this company. The way to plans play out, you either need to buy a package or get a subscription. I opted for the subscription. Once I realized that I was building up too many visits and not enough usage, I attempted to freeze my account. What they don't say is that you cannot use your visits when you freeze your account. I then attempted to cancel my account. Once you cancel your account, all of the visits that you had saved up in hopes to use at a later date, get scrubbed. Void. This is some predatory business practice. I fell for it, please don't. Lessons learned and $180 down the damn drain. read more

It was my first time in their, I played as if I've never been to a chiropractor before to see how they work. First off the other doctor in the building had to come show mine where to take notes on the paper and my doctor still did not take any. The doctor tried to sell me the package for 3/4 of the time I was their, I had wrote on my slip I have a headache, neck ache, and a lower back ache- he did not adjust any of those areas what so ever and then had the nerve to get the activator out for 3 shots and then told me my visit was over and wants to see me twice a week for the next two months? Details.. .. So I've been having some minor back issues (primarily in my left shoulder blade) for a few years now. I think I tweaked it during a move & I just didn't take proper care of myself afterwards. It probably doesn't help that I also sit at a desk for 7-9 hours a day. Previously, I had gotten massages on a semi-regular basis, but it didn't really resolve the issue. I started coming here at the beginning of 2020 because I must have done something to my neck/shoulders while sleeping & was in more discomfort than usual. That all being said.. prOs.. .. Dr. G is AMAZING. During my initial visit, we did a consult & he walked me through everything that he was doing. As I was in more discomfort than usual, he recommended that I come back every other day or two for the first week to get my spine back to a more "normal" place. Then, he recommended once a week for maintenance. I was skeptical at first, but after he worked his magic, I was hooked. I signed up for a monthly membership & haven't looked back since. I now see Dr. G about once a week. I can't say that all the discomfort I felt has completely gone away, but I definitely feel a difference. He switches it up with every visit & makes little tweaks to what he adjusts based on what he sees & my feedback on how I'm feeling that particular day/week. .. The Joint is a super convenient way to maintain your spinal health. I'm usually in & out within 15 minutes or less on days that they're not busy. cOns.. .. The parking lot is always packed in this corner of the shopping center. .. The space is basically open with the exception of a partition that separates the lobby from the back where the adjustment tables are. The review is long overdue! Doctor Otoupalik has been such an amazing chiropractor at the Joint for the past few years! I always like to come and see him. He is very good at what he does. I have a herniated disc and get sciatica from it at times and he has always been able to help. I also have TMD and he is usually able to work on my jaw to help alleviate the pain. He is a huge asset to this location! Highly recommend anyone looking for a chiro to come and see him. read more

HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. my husband has been trying to cancel his membership for weeks. Tanya the girl who SOMETIMES answers the phone is a completely rude person who HUNG UP on me, also said a doctor would call me back by the end of the night and they never did. I've called several locations asking to speak to the manager and get bullshit excuses as to why she hasn't called me back (one of which is "we'll we don't know what location shes at since she manages 11"- if you can't return a call then maybe you need to consider hiring more help for management). It's been over a week and she was supposed to call within 48 hours. My mom has been a customer at the joint for 7 years and will likely be cancelling her membership if management doesn't make this right, sooner rather than later. I've been looking for a new chiro for a while, and had heard of The Joint, but I never really considered it since I was so used to private practices. Desperation due to bad acute neck pain (along with an offer of free consultation) changed my tune. There were a few Joint locations close by but I chose this one based on Yelp reviews. One of my best decisions! The office is quite open and clean. The receptionist, Sandra, is the sweetest lady. She seems to be good at interacting with patients and is very attentive. When I signed up for the monthly subscription she included a few free adjustment coupons so that I could come in more frequently the first month to take care of my neck pain. We usually have a nice chat while waiting for my turn. Dr. G is a soft spoken and warm person. I've been through my fair share of chiropractors so I know a good one when I feel it - Dr. G is awesome. His movements are quick and efficient, and rarely does he miss an adjustment. I also don't feel "man handled," which is reflective of the consideration Dr. G has for his patients. He addressed my neck pain well and now I go back for maintenance adjustments for other things going on. Even though these appointments are supposed to be quick I've never felt rushed and I come out feeling pretty satisfied. Dr. G is definitely a solid/popular choice. The one caveat to this practice is that the wait can be lengthy (30-40 mins) at times since there is usually only one person working in the back. It's just indicative of how long people are willing to wait for a good chiropractor. Highly recommend!! read more

I was waiting for my mom who needs me to translate but I overheard the doctor talking to a patient about how the previous patient was so annoying and how she wouldn't shut up and he was trying to go as fast as possible so she would leave. But all the lady was doing was making small talk telling him about her day and stuff and i genuinely believe that she thought he would care. Oh and the patient wasn't even gone yet when they said those things she was at the front desk. But it just made me think what would he say about us when we left? And it made me feel so icky. When you go to a doctor your supposed to feel safe and like you are cared for. Not like people are judging you or making fun of you. And if you want to talk crap don't do it in front of other patients. So rude & unprofessional. read more

This company "the joint" asks their Chiropractic doctors to meet a quota of patients on a daily basis, so it's like a factory adjusting patients all day long. I've been going there for over 2 years and now I decided to visit a chiropractic doctor who is not forced to adjust 60 patients a day so they can meet their quota. I have to say though that the doctors at this location are incredibly nice and professional but they are clearly over worked, sometimes one has to wait an hour to get adjusted and the doctors are not in a very good mood especially at the end of the day since they've been working so hard all day. I will not give my money anymore to the "joint" because this company truly sucks, it's all about money and quotas... I will regret Dr. G. and Dr. Molly! read more

I have been dealing with chronic neck pain (arthritis, disc degeneration, etc) for a 2+ years now. I had seen a different chiropractor based on the recommendation of a friend, and I hate to say the experience was a complete and utter disaster. I also worked with an acupuncturist for a while but just wasn't making progress as quickly as I wanted to. So I finally decided to give chiropractic care another try. Initially, I was hesitant about The Joint because they're a chain, and I honestly wasn't sure what the quality of care would be like. But, my experience with this location has been nothing short of excellent! My first visit, I saw Dr. G and he was fabulous, but he suggested that I might like working with Dr. Molly because we share a background in competitive gymnastics. She has been truly INCREDIBLE! After a few months of working with her, I now have full rotation back in my neck. It's so nice to be able to look over my shoulder while I'm driving...! I particularly love how Dr. Molly has been willing to modify adjustments to make the treatments more comfortable for me: when my neck or low back didn't like one approach, then she would use a different one. I am a licensed massage therapist and anytime my clients express hesitation over seeing a Chiropractor because the adjustments are uncomfortable, I recommend Dr. Molly because she will work with you and your body to make your visit a positive experience! read more
