Melissa at the front desk was great at the check in desk. She's friendly, efficient, and clearly handy as she fixed the door from swinging shut harder than usual. I have migraines, tension, and knee issues but what had me looking for a chiropractor was the diminished field of vision twisting my head side to side. So when I saw the $29 intro, I thought I'd check it out. I'm glad I did. I had no idea that I had a pinched nerve or blood vessel and that's what was causing bright lights when I stretched a certain way. I had no idea my pelvis had shifted. I felt a little sore the day after, but overall I feel so much better. I went in for a routine visit a month ago. No issues, just wanted to make sure everything was aligned and feeling good. Dr Andre Charles treated me like I was totally interrupting his day, and blatantly rushed through my appt. Due to him rushing, he didn't even set up the positions correctly. When he cracked my neck, he was very aggressive and it hurt the bottom 2 vertebrae in my neck. Since this appointment a month ago, I've been dealing with severe neck and back pain, and my neck muscles keep pulling over and over. I'm sick and tired of it, and it should have never happened. Dr Charles needs to get his act together or find a different profession. I'm sure other people are also in pain due to his ego and lack of care. I DO Not Recommend The Joint. I thought they were there to alleviate pain. I waited over an hour to be seen and filled out 10 pages of forms----although I have been there many times before! The office person was a bit cold and the doctor said I may not be seen, due to a snafu with the medicare part of the forms. I didn't love this location for a few reasons. The front desk woman is super sweet, there's no issues with her at all. But the one Dr. I had made me feel a little uncomfortable when I first signed up and he was the first person I saw at this location. He asked me what I did for a living which is totally normal but then started asking some weird questions about if my employees are Latina and if I could find him a Latina nanny. It was a little weird. He gave a very good strong adjustment though. The second time I came to this location was on a Sunday and there was only one woman Dr there. I didn't feel like my adjustment was that spectacular. Honestly, the location at Willow Lawn is better and you'd be well off seeing Dr. Taylor if you need a strong adjustment from a warm, kind lady. It's like seeing my aunty I haven't seen in a year every time I visit her. So I guess I should write a review for Willow Lawn because they're 5 stars all the way. In general, the cost is $79 a month for one adjustment a week + any extra adjustment is $10. You do have to sign up for a 2 month commitment. I ended up going 4 times out of the 8 that I had because I'm a busy mom and just can't find the time to fit it in. The membership is pretty affordable, which is great news if you are underinsured like I am. With a membership, you can visit any of the locations in the Richmond area. This location is my favorite. Dr. Adams and Dr. Lotto are great! I have seen an improvement in my back pain and my neck and shoulders are not as tight as they were before my weekly visits. I have had a hip issue for over a year as a result of a foot injury. I have never been to a chiropractor before so this was a last resort before I would have to fork over money for x-rays and all the other charges you get for going to see a GP. Anyway I have always had downright fear on getting my body cracked and twisted in different ways even with everyone that has ever been to one praises how much better they feel afterwards. My fiancé got me a gift card for my birthday so I had no excuse at this point. I arrived at the front desk and was greeted by a friendly and helpful front desk lady. She walked me through my paperwork and any questions I had (I had a quite a few) then introduced me to Dr. Capri could not have been more awesome explaining how the spine works and correlates to my particular issues. He did a full body exam and got right to work. He talked to me about exactly what he was doing through the adjustments. I faced my fears and was already excited for my next one which was 2 days later. This time I met with Dr. Pottenger again friendly and walked me through the adjustments with a little more pressure than my first after checking my charts. I haven't had this much relief after two visits in my hip in over a year. I cant wait for it to completely diminish. You don't need insurance and they take walk ins which is a bonus. I was initially thrilled with the Short Pump location. The ease of electronic payment and convenient location. Even the modified hours during our Covid confinement were appreciated. I recently stopped my monthly "membership" due to travel. I notified the practice in time to stop the transfer/payment. Well, the funds were still extracted. I was understanding that this sometimes happens. I went in...twice, I called...three times, and I emailed..twice. Last Friday, I was told I would receive a refund to my account on Sat, possibly(probably?) Monday. Here I sit, Day 8 of the last conversation; 30plus days from their mistake. No refund. No resolution. My thought is that the manager who "handles" this is overwhelmed, incompetent or just doesn't care. Too bad because I really like Dr. Lewis and would have gladly returned to the practice in late Fall. Any suggestions on good Chiropractors in the West End? EDIT: The manager called me personally to apologize and inform me the refund had been processed. While I am still at a loss as to why it took so long, I do appreciate the fact he called to explain the delay. I would not recommend the Short Pump, Virginia location. I signed up in November 2018 because I was having problems with my ribs/back. I moved to Arizona in December because my husband is in the military and the military moved us. This past week I went to cancel my account. I was told I had to cancel it in person at the clinic I originally signed up at because that was my "home location." I called the Short Pump, Virginia location to see if they could email or mail me the cancellation document because I'm on the other side of the country and can't just come into the store. They told me they would have their managers call me and that they should be in contact with me in 24 to 48 hours. I never received a phone call. This morning (1/25/19) I called to see about cancelling again. The receptionist took my name and phone number and put me on hold. She came back on the line and said that the doctor had told her to email all three managers and have them call me. I asked her when a manager would be in next and I would call and speak to them personally. She seemed to check a schedule and said that the managers wouldn't be in any time soon and that all she could do was email them for me. I said "So just to clarify, if I was in the state of Virginia and I came into the clinic today and asked to cancel, all I would have to do is fill out a form and the cancellation would be processed without my having to speak with a manger." The receptionist replied "Yes." I then asked "Okay. So why can't you verify my identify and email the forms or mail them?" She said "all I can do is email my managers." I said "Okay, can you freeze my account so that I'm not charged in February since this is getting ridiculous and I don't really expect a phone call back because a manager never called me back the first time." She then checked my account (instead of just pulling it up from the beginning) and claimed she couldn't click on anything in my account to freeze it or cancel it. I'm not so sure I believe this because I ended up having a Joint Chiropractic in Arizona help me with relatively no problems at all. I'll get to that in a minute. At one point the receptionist claimed the managers are never there because they are busy setting up other locations. That doesn't make any sense to me but whatever. The receptionist at one point said this was her fourth day on the job. If that is true, what kind of manager leaves a receptionist totally alone on her fourth day without being on the location? I'm not sure I believe this either because she then said she's normally at the Willow Lawn location. I eventually got off the phone with the receptionist in Virginia. I called her back almost immediately to see if my "home location" could be transferred to Arizona. She said "I am not sure. I'll ask that in the email I'm doing now." I hung up frustrated and irritated and tried calling corporate. I had to leave a message there also. That's just ridiculous. At this point I decided to go to a location in Arizona and see if they could delivery better customer service and help. I went to the location in Goodyear, Arizona and the receptionist there was extremely helpful and friendly. Her name is Lexi and I cannot say enough about how glad I am that she works in this location. I went into this location and told her I wanted to cancel my membership. She pulled up my membership immediately, asked where Short Pump was and had me fill out a form. She told me she would upload that to my account and would contact the Short Pump location and have them approve it. I explained to her that she might have trouble because of the issues I was having with the Short Pump location. She said that I shouldn't have needed to have a manager contact me about cancelling and that they should have just emailed me or mailed me the forms. I explained I even called corporate and she said that corporate isn't very helpful anyway. She said if the Short Pump location didn't call her back, she would contact IT and have them push the cancellation through. Lexi called me back about an hour later and said that she had tried calling the Short Pump location twice and left two voicemails. She said they did not call her back. At this point she emailed them. A bit later she said she checked my account and said that they had processed the cancellation and that I would not be charged on February 19th. She also said she did not think they would have ever called her back. I thanked her and she was super friendly and apologetic over the situation with the Short Pump clinic. I plan to contact Lexi's manager and let them know how great she is and how willing she was to help me. If I need to rejoin The Joint in the future it will be with the Goodyear location. But DO NOT ever sign up with the location in Short Pump. They do not care about customer service and apparently do not train their receptionists adequately. read more

Way better than billing insurance (which they do not take), but when you have a $60 insurance copay like me and the packages here average about $24/session, well it's a no brainer. I do wish they were open before 10am though so I could stop in before work some days, especially if pain is worse in the mornings. Get a package (3 to choose from I believe), get a keycard to swipe in for your visits (walk-ins, no appointments, usually no wait), and they don't expire for a year. Can't beat it. read more

I don't know if The Joint just finds the roughest chiropractors they can but I've been to two different locations and the chiropractors have both been very heavy-handed. I went to the short pump location today and the guy did not even look at or feel my back before he started adjusting. He cranked on my neck so hard that I actually said something out of pain.
