I had been dealing with a severe kink in my neck for over 2 weeks. I had tried everything, including message, heat, cold, Motrin, Tylenol and couldn't find any relief. I couldn't sleep and it hurt constantly. I called and got an appointment for the same day. Upon entering I was very impressed. The place is like a giant sports therapy room. It is very clean, with state of the art equipment. I bought a reasonable package that allowed me several visits, at any of their Joint facilities. It's clean, fairly priced and Dr. Jamahl Gow, D.C., is AMAZING. Dr. Gow is strong, confident (without being cocky) I felt safe and heard. His adjustment technique is smooth, and thorough. He adjusted my neck last. Again, he's strong, and smooth and it happened so fast, I involuntarily burst into tears, so great was the relief and release of pressure. I'm so grateful to have stumbled upon Dr. Gow. I was leaving for Europe the next day and feared how I would manage traveling with so much pain and no sleep. Showed up today (Thurs) at 245 when they are suppose to return from lunch, door locked and no one inside. Lunch hours 2-245. Waited till 310, still no one there. 4-5 customers showed up in that time waiting to get adjusted. No sign on the front door indicating different hours for today and called the front desk, got the answering machine with no change to operating hours on the message. We all left. What's the point of paying money for a drop-in service if they aren't open when they're suppose to be! It's unprofessional. read more

I used to go to the joint quite often especially when Dr. Cedars was working there. However, it has been quite some time since I have been here. There's a new doctor in the house. Dr. Mueavis (spelled that wrong). I explained to him in detail what I needed in terms of a good adjustment for my body and he went to work. However, he had a weird method that made it seem like he was winding up for a pitch prior to making the adjustment. He was far more "jolt-y" then my body really needed. He was one that instead of doing a slow moderate adjustment he slams into you causing the air to leave your lungs quite quickly. I left feeling as if I didn't even go to the chiropractor. Finding a good chiropractor is like finding a good dentist or barber. It takes trial and air to get there. I will leave it at that read more

I went into this location because my normal chiropractor is closed on Sunday's. I had been having a bad cough and thought I had a rib out. I explained this and they adjusted the one side and my neck and hips. The same night I got up from my couch and fell to the floor in tears. I went to the ER and they think I have fractured some ribs. I have been in extreme pain for a week when I breath, twist, and pick up my children. They staff was friendly and seemed knowledgeable but I will only be returning to my normal chiropractor even if I have to wait in pain. read more

Today I was told Dr. Movaious was promoted and will not be at the office anymore like usual. He has been the only one that can use the strap harness to do traction adjustments for me due to the difficulty of adjust my neck normally. Because he is not there I cant get relief. Today I went in and found this out, and got adjusted by another doctor and she couldn't adjust me so I had to drive to another location and I got adjusted for free and it helped a little but not what I need. Sadly this is going to force me to cancel my membership and look for a someone that can perform the neck traction using the harness for your head and neck. Everyone ive met here has been super nice and helpful but only he has been able to adjust me properly. read more

I love coming to the Joint, been a member for years and visited many different locations. However, many times this location has been closed on a weekend with no update to the automated hours voice message and no sign on the door. They were closed on both 1/15 and 1/16. I drove down the hill into Folsom both days, only to get adjusted. If something comes up and the clinic is closed, at least leave a note on the door. read more

Before going in, I called and spoke to the receptionist to confirm they treat pregnant women for services. Once confirmed, I went in and explained to Dr. Kosak that I was in my third trimester of pregnancy and because of all of the pressure on my pelvic, waist and hip area that I was experiencing low back and waist pain. At first, she explained how chiro during pregnancy is really beneficial and that it was going to help me. She adjusted my neck, my mid back and when she attempted to adjust my waist and lower back, she jerked me super hard and I got really uncomfortable. She didn't help me up after that and told me to sit up - on my own. (I'm 34 weeks pregnant!) She only tried each side ONCE but she couldn't even properly adjust my lower back and left it at that. She continued to offer me to sign up for plan and basically said, "okay have a good day!" An hour and a half later, I'm regretting going there and i hope the pain doesn't progress or have any issues with this pregnancy from her jerking my body extremely hard and extremely fast. I would not recommend going to a walk in chiro clinic while pregnant. Now, I know better and will go to a certified chiropractor who actually specializes with pregnant women. I am familiar with Chiropractic services, used to have a great Chiropractor back in Los Gatos. Well, unfortunately we don't live there anymore. My total number of visits to Joint Chiropractor was 3 times. The first 2 were more or less OK although I have to tell you the benefit of 2-4 minutes adjustment equals pretty much to zero. But my third visit to Joint in Folsom was extremely damaging. I was literally injured and ended up with a long recovery due to a strained muscle. I came to Joint at the beginning of April this year and stated to the Therapist I had a painful knot on my upper back. He said: let's see if we can get it out. He didn't ask me any further questions and started a very painful and rough rub down with his elbows for a few seconds. I almost screamed. After that he popped my neck when I was with face down; that was painful too. Then he had me on my back and tried to pop my neck again and that didn't go very well. He said:' it's OK, I already popped your neck anyway, come back in 2 days'. The pain was horrific and I already knew he screwed me up really bad. I was in a lot more pain then before the adjustment. Well, after that I was in horrible pain, not being able to sleep or move very well. I went to my PCP after 3 days of pain and she said I had severely strained muscle. She ordered me Ibuprofen gel, muscle relaxer pills, rest, gentle massage and "no chiropractor" visits. I don't want to make this one star review too long, but want people to know that they are being fooled by thinking they are getting a deal at that place. In fact, I think they have never been to a real Chiropractor who pays attention to your condition and spends some time with you to understand how to help you better and not make it worse. A good Chiropractor should know what to do and what not to do when a patient has inflammation of their joints or muscles. read more

I love him as a chiropractor I've been going to chiropractors since I was 26 years old and I am now 60 years old. I've been going to a chiropractor for years, and when that office raised their prices to $50 PER VISIT I knew it was time to find somewhere new. And then The Joint opened in Folsom! Perfect timing! In short, I highly recommend Dr. Hartman to anyone looking for a great chiropractic doctor. He had worked with professional athletes before coming to this area. He cares about and educate his patients so that one can improve postures and do stretch and other exercises at home in order to maintain better health on an ongoing basis. "The Joint" is a franchise clinic model that offers affordable treatments (I liked the pre-paid package plan, which is flexible as I can visit him if/when I need treatments). The visits can be to any The Joint clinic, but I myself would only go to this specific clinic as I am going to see Dr. Hartman. For those interested, the following is my specific situation that led me to meet and get help from Dr. Hartman: I never had a chiropractic treatment (was a bit afraid of it) before. About two months ago, something hit the middle of my back hard. Afterwards, my left rib (side and front) had severe pain. I assume that I somehow hurt the rib (maybe a hairline fracture?) and tried to heal over time, knowing that allopathic doctors can't do much about that except for giving you a brace to wear. After three weeks, it got better but a mild chronic pain stayed. One day, I leaned to reach something and the right side had the same sharp pain that was going through the same path as the left side. At this point, I became very fearful that my bones may be so brittle that it fractured without even having hit. I found Dr. Hartman's reviews on Yelp and called the office. He listened and said that it did not sound like rib fractures and I could come in for him to evaluate further. I went in and he was sure it was not fracture issue but spinal misalignment issue. I had one treatment, and the pain improved a lot. In addition, I was relieved of the fear, which was important for my healing process. I visited him four more times over the next month. He emphasized the importance of stretching exercises (recommending a book, "Stretching" by Bob Anderson) and taught me about a core exercise that can help with maintaining the corrected alignment. At this point, I no longer have the rib problem and am grateful to know that I can always visit Dr. Hartman if/when I need chiropractic treatments. read more

I've had chronic back pain for about 18 years and neck pain for 10. It got to the point where I've been to chiropractors and physical therapy and had MRIs done. Nothing was ever found but we all know if you have back pain...well you have back pain. I was surprised at how affordable this place is and my manager had recommended it to me. Dr. Hartman is a sports medicine guy and that really appealed to me since I workout all the time. He loves icing and it can be a pain in the ass but it really works. Unfortunately I don't have an ice machine in my fridge, I went out and bought 6 ice trays and that's 1/4 of my freezer now cuz it actually works if you do it! He's really quick and effective. I can say that after 2 months it's prob the first time in 18 years my lower back pain is almost non existent! I still have neck tightness and pain but it's definitely not close to how bad it was originally. I know that will take more time and work on my part. My only hope is this progress either is maintained or keeps improving. If you have tried everything and want back pain relief I recommend checking this place out AND implementing lifestyle changes (posture, icing, etc) and it will help! read more

I haven't been to this office but I know Dr. Hartman. He use to adjust my back in San Jose for 7 years and I have yet to find another good Chiropractor. I'm glad he's still doing what he loves to do. The people are nice, and I felt slightly better after my first treatment. But it would have been much better without the used car salesman touch. During my adjustment, the doctor was talking about the price comparison of their facility versus other chiropractor offices and how they overcharge. Definitely uncomfortable and leaves a certain taste in your mouth after you leave. If you are going to go, make sure you are ready for the sales pitch. I am THRILLED that Dr. Charles Russell joined the Folsom office of The Joint Chiropractic. I have always had a strong aversion to the "joint popping" version of chiropractic. About 18 years ago I was in a car accident that necessitated chiropractic care, and (thank goodness) someone recommended Dr. Russell to me! He uses a specific type of diagnostic and treatment method called The Activator Method that does not involve any spinal manipulation. He completely handled by back issues, and those of my entire family. The missing link in my healthcare had finally been handled. Unfortunately, Dr. Russell and his family moved out-of-state and I was unable to find anyone of comparable expertise. My back condition started up again and a pattern set in whereby nearly every weekend I woke up with a really bad headache. Several months ago I learned that he had moved back to the Folsom area and I contacted him. With a simple set of adjustments, I am now headache-free and receiving regular adjustments from him! I highly recommend Dr. Russell as one of the most helpful medical practitioners I have ever gone to. He is also really easy to talk to and totally understands you when you describe your symptoms to him. read more

Yet again, no one to service their customers on Saturday. This is the 2nd or 3rd visit where there was nobody to do an adjustment. First it was they stop working on Sundays, now no chiropractor on Sat. This place needs new management or offer a refund when they can't meet the obligations of their contract. And each time I arrive when there is not a chiropractor to service their accounts they very plainly direct you to the Rancho Cordova office as if it's right next door. I heard great things about this place and was so excited to go in & see what it was all about. Unfortunately, the young-ish/curly haired girl at the front desk was very rude. I asked her for some information and she wouldn't even look up at me. I felt like I was in her way... she was like "you know about this. You've been here before?" I'm like nope. That's why I'm trying to ask you about services. I've managed places and worked many front desk jobs and she was not helpful nor nice at all. I was looking to pre-pay for a service and she told me "we don't do that" and that was pretty much it. It's too bad they don't offer gift cards. I was willing to pay for a ton of adjustments to give to my boyfriend. Anyways... If you work customer service jobs, there are just so many other ways to then end the sentence. Like "so sorry. Here's our card. Have him come in when he's ready. We'd love to service him." I mean, anything other than "Nope sorry. I mean I guess he could take home paperwork to fill out?" Waited by the front door for 25 minutes while they are supposed to be open. The front desk girl hid inside the dark office and didn't even open the door to let us in from the cold to start check-in. It's one thing if the doctor is running late for the day, but to hide from 3 patients outside is another. We got back in van and she came out, locked the door and was walking away. The last chiropractor I went to was great, but visits were always such a process. I had to make an appointment, wait 15 minutes past that appointment, use a roller bed for ten minutes, sit in the room for ten minutes, and chat with the doc for ten minutes before any cracking actually began. That's over 45 minutes for 2 minutes of adjustments! The joint is quick and easy. No appointment, minimal chit-chat. Get in and get out in under ten minutes. Now that's what I'm talkin' about! They have a pretty good deal if you sign up with automatic renewals, which I'm always a little suspicious of, but after several months it's been great. 4 visits a month for $50, when the last place was $25 each, and that was with an insurance discount. Was a member at the Joint for several months with my husband and even my high school aged son. Dr. Hartman was good at basic care, but he definitely had a "Standard" procedure he went through with all of us. Nothing individualized, which is what we really needed. They did offer a really affordable add-on program for our son, who was playing high school football, and he did benefit from it, but as my husband and I used the service, it became clear it wasn't fully addressing our needs. I went to quit, but got put on a "Hold" status and basically forgot about it - got a call a week ago that the "hold was coming off" and we would be reinstated, but by that time, we had found a terrific chiropractor we were seeing, with a more individualized, full-service practice. I asked to cancel the memberships for both of us, and was told that I should have let them know 30 days in advance (the renewal date was 4 days away, according to the office manager). Ended up paying $108 for another month's membership. If you're looking for a basic adjustment on a regular basis, then this place is fine. But be sure to quit the membership when you decide to leave - don't let them talk you in to a "hold", unless you mark your calendar 30 days in advance to remind yourself to cancel, or you'll be stuck, like us. read more

Dr. Hartman and Dr. Russel are excellent! They both are intuitive, thoughtful and extremely experienced. My husband, I and our 3 children see both doctors regularly. With our daughter and son in Classical Ballet 6 Days a week, I have found with consistent appointments with Dr. Hartman and Dr. Russel, they remain injury free! The minute they feel sore they say, " Please take me to the chiropractor" and they have immediate relief. We have paid much more for less thoughtfulness and skill, when it comes to chiropractic treatments. We are so thankful to have found these two outstanding doctors! read more
