They do false advertising. They do not advertise as chiropractic business. They are not upfront on the cost of the visit. When I explained of my condition he was clear what kind of problems I have and then even he insisted on taking the X-rays. Most chiropractic charge $29 for initial visit and X-rays but he charged $58.00. I gave credit card and she charged $2.00 credit card fee. She should have said that if you use credit card there is $2.00 fee. They don't tell clearly what they are going to charge. Every thing they do is told after the fact. They do not disclose the charges upfront even the visit charges were not disclosed upfront. Since I have insurance which pay for chiropractic visits. I asked this question that do you accept insurance before the service was provided and then he wanted me to come for second visit. After I get there he tells me I should go to chiropractic who would expect insurance. He could he told me before he provided any service. In fact they should ask this question on the phone at the time of making initial visit and advise that if your I insurance pays for the service they must go to chiropractic who except insurance. He is all talk and not professional at all. While providing adjustments to patients he is constantly talking and talking. Totally unprofessional. read more

I called Dr. J back in the end of January 2022 after I had constant shooting pain from my scapula down my right arm from a herniated disc in my neck. I was getting numbness on my fingers and hands and I'm only 37. Driving was starting to get difficult! I had seen several chiropractors before over the course of 2 years which is how I knew I had a herniated disc. They put me through a series of adjustments - it would go away for a day but always come right back...none of them put me on a wellness plan that included education and X-ray follow ups. None of them used the magic neck pulling trick that is my total favorite move of Dr.Js (you must see him to truly understand the beauty of this magic) For the first time in years I felt like a pressure be released. So here's what makes Dr. J different from the rest: he is invested in helping you. He's actually in the business of health and wellness- he embodies it and lives it himself. I very highly recommend Thrive Spine Center and Dr. J. I sought chiropractic care as I was looking to reduce my headaches and neck pain. After a few months of care, I see a vast improvement. The X-rays that Dr. J took showed that I have a reverse curve in my neck which was the root of my pain and headaches. Dr. J's adjustments and exercises have actually re-shaped the spinal curve in my neck to a more normal curve. Originally at the first consultation, I thought everything was going to go well..... Totally a BIG mistake after this whole experience. This experience is more on my boyfriend's behalf but also mines as well, since I was at the first initial greeting and consultation, and have been to a couple of my boyfriend's appointments with Dr. Bergerhouse. The first consultation seemed to be legit, the Dr. xrayed my boyfriend's spine, gave us important information about the process and so forth. He said he deals with his clients hands on for 15-20minutes then puts them on a spinal decompression table for a few minutes. Everything still seemed to be going fine, even for the price, he didn't seem pushy, but as time went on however, he was pushy about my boyfriend leaving a review. Now originally I had asked if there was a month to month plan, but "apparently" the Dr. said they didn't do that and were unable to. I was like okay; we get things signed, booked appointments, and start to get things going..... after this however, we will REGRET to have done our business here. After our experience, my boyfriend and I believe that this place is a complete scam. I say this because at the first consultation, before signing the contract and processing the payment plan, the Dr. had mentioned that he dealt with patients hands on for 15-20 minutes. The Dr. has misinformed us and I'm pretty sure he misinforms most or majorly all of his clients. Every time the Dr. readjusted my boyfriend, it lasted less than 5 minutes! Sometimes only 2/3 minutes... yes I know this for a fact because I'm waiting in the sitting area for him to be done. After he's done with the Dr. my boyfriend gets strapped onto the decompression table. It's so funny how much LONGER he stays on the decompression table, than actually with the Dr. Sometimes my boyfriend wouldn't even be able to use the decompression table because other people are still using it so he has to wait, but doesn't have time to wait so he has to do it another day. Now I get sometimes appointments get backed up, but this business I felt as if it is always rushed and backed up. Why is this the case? Because he literally makes his appointments so CLOSE together! Why would you book appointments so close together, if supposedly your supposed to be hands on with your clients for 15-20 minutes! Such a lie. I also understand some people don't need a lot of adjustments as everyone else, but still, I know that for basically majorly all his appointments , my boyfriend should not only be spending 2-5 minutes being readjusted, especially due to his long mixed martial arts background history.... his body definitely needs a lot of readjusting. We have even asked my boyfriends' friends that go to chiropractic, and they even believe this place is a joke. My boyfriend's friend's chiropractors' spend atleast 20 minutes! They even pay cheaper. We brought this up to the Dr. and he informs us that prices vary depending on area. YES that's understandable and we figured this, but it's still about the quality, especially if I'm paying a certain price! It has got to be worth it, which this business is not! It also seems as though they are disorganized or atleast the receptionist is because there would be mix up of days of when his appointment was and they'd forget reminders as well, and every time he would get on the decompression table , the receptionist would ask what number/the pressure, he was at. Like they don't keep notes down on his chart? He had even asked the receptionist to only have the Dr. strap him in because she wouldn't do it tight enough for him to feel the pull. So most of the time when he did use the decompression table, he wouldn't get the most use out of it because he wasn't strapped in well enough. Of course he was unable to get the Dr. because he'd already be with another client.... Most importantly, why this place is a complete joke and scam, is because of the payment plan. In the beginning, at the first consultation, we had discussed if there was a month to month, the Dr. said no they don't do that and are unable to. Now here we are, at the end of my boyfriend's last appointment and consultation, the Dr. or the receptionist, I forget which one, discusses a payment plan going forth. This TIME however, they mention a month to month! I thought they didn't do month to month?! They are complete liars! We are now stuck with a chiropractic bill and despise this place for wasting our money. In the end, I don't know why there are so many 5 star reviews, because this definitely deserves a 1 star review based on our terrible experience. This whole experience has left a bad taste in my mouth towards chiropractors and before you sign that contract and possibly sign up for the care credit card that they offer, keep in mind what you're signing up for before you waste a lot of your money at this business. I have been dealing with some nerve issues in my hands and no other doctors could help me... the very first time I went to see Dr. Jay he gave me an examination, took x-rays and educated me on what he does and how he does it. Dr. J & Angie are awesome! My boyfriend & I came in around late March, early April because I get really bad, constant neck pain that would result in seriously bad headaches. Within the first week (3 sessions a week) I felt so much relief in my neck and my headaches were practically gone. Going from one headache here and there compared to one typically everyday means so much to me. I know my neck has a long way to go from the very little curve he found from the xrays, but I know I'm on the right path with Dr. J & Angie. The office is super clean & tidy. The waiting area has chairs with these "waddle cushions" that help loosen up your hips & help the adjustment along which is different from other offices I've visited rather than just sitting on a hard chair. So from the very beginning they have the best interest of your body. They're located in Folsom which is about a 20 minute drive for me, but it's really nothing & worth it when I go days without feeling how I did prior to meeting them and the support I get from them to really help fix my pain and discomforts. Thrive has changed my life! I suffered from chronic pain due to multiple illnesses, infections, and surgeries in my past. I'm a mother of a 10month old and was having difficulty picking him up and holding him. I went to bed every night in severe pain and woke up constantly. This is my 3rd attempt at leaving a review on Yelp on here. I was trying to be nice & not detail the experience I had, but since I kept getting reported for not thoroughly explaining my experience, here goes: Dr Bergerhouse came to my work to discuss holistic healing and chiropractic care. I was all for it! I truly believe in holistic healing & understanding how our bodies react to stress from our daily lives, so I made an appointment with his assistant who was with him at the time. I found it extremely odd that she asked for cash up front to make an appointment... but since I didn't have cash on hand, she said she could take my card info down & bill me later. That seemed a bit weird to me also, but I was excited about finally feeling better, & provided my information anyway. At the consultation, everything seemed okay. It started with me telling the dr what's been bothering me & then he did a physical exam on a table reaffirming me that everything I described, as far as my symptoms, were because my spine wasn't aligned. I thought ok, I would go home & think about continuing treatments or if I should get a second opinion... but instead, I get told about the different payment plans and options--cash offering the most discounted price! I was still pretty unsure about it all, since I had just transitioned jobs & I was adjusting my finances. I kept getting told by the dr that I would need this therapy plan & how it would help my ailments. He told me he would correct my spine & do a down payment on the plan. I go out into the busy lobby to wait to be "corrected". I'm sitting there on the wobbly pad and watching the dr adjust clients. My turn! As we start with the adjustment, I notice just how it was drastically different than the other clients' adjustments. I understand everyone has different treatments because our symptoms are not the same, but this was just really strange. After the adjustment, I get told how I'm going to be sore & achy for a few days & got a complimentary ice pack. I went back to Kacy & she made a follow-up appointment w/ me a wk later & she processed the down payment. A few days after my adjustment, I had gotten sick & really lethargic. I couldn't even call to cancel my appointment because my throat was hurting so bad. I texted to let the office know I wouldn't be making my follow-up. I was told I needed to come back in ASAP to get realigned. I found that to be really bizarre... 2 days after my missed appointment, I decided to go in to get the realignment done. I told them I decided I wouldn't be able to continue w/ the treatment plan & I planned on looking for someone under my insurance. This lady, I don't remember her name, then intervened & I was asked how much I could afford each month. After letting her know what my budget was, she said she would go discuss it with the dr. That's when a special "hardship" price was offered to me. The first thing Dr Bergerhouse asked me after consulting w/ the woman was "you live in Folsom?" I found the question unnecessary as I clearly wrote my address on the form I had already filled out. It felt like a slap in the face. What does that have to do with my treatment??? I was pitched a price of $215 a month for 6 months--which is very reasonable. I kept being told over & over how I shouldn't tell anyone the special price I was receiving & that I was being offered this price because they cared. Unfortunately, I didn't feel like anyone there was being very empathetic. After telling dr Bergerhouse how my coworkers were waiting to hear how my experience was at his practice before they go to him, his attitude changed--weird! I'm still thinking of giving him a shot & the benefit of the doubt. I go back to the front with Kacy & notice the other woman had been talking to her about my special pricing plan. Kacy tells me "$250, right?" in a very low, barely audible voice. I almost misheard her, but I told her "no, I thought it was $215?" She laughed awkwardly & said "oh, I must have misunderstood" when the paper she was given clearly said $215 on it that was given to her by the woman. By this time, I just had this gut-wrenching feeling that something was not right. She processed my card information & payment plan for the next 6 months & I went home. After being home for 2 hours, I was overwhelmed by the disgust & lack of professionalism from this business. I've never felt so judged & disgusted in all my life. I live in Folsom; am supposed to easily give away $3000 to a complete stranger in cash upfront? That doesn't sit right in my I book. I decided to write an email to Dr Bergerhouse explaining the experience I had there. I was not rude or angry or upset, it truly saddens my heart to know that there are people out there that will take advantage of people who truly need help. While on work travel I had a flare up of the chronic back pain I have had for years. I had decided I had "enough" and the things I had been doing were not working. Based on the recommendation of a friend I called Thrive Spine Center to see if there was a chance of me getting an appointment. I was able to be seen the next day. Dr. J was incredibly thorough including not adjusting me on my first visit until he had time to review my X-rays, etc. Since I was only in town for the week and I have no care where I currently live Dr. J gave recommendations for how I can follow up and take the right steps to get myself out of chronic pain. There were no illusions or false promises; however, his adjustments and other methodology did provide an immediate reduction in pain with an increase of range of motion. The biggest factor for me was the fact that my trip had to be cut short by a day. Dr. J invited me to come in on his day off in order to adjust me one last time before I left town. Dr. Jay is fantastic! When I came in I was miserable everyday and taking 800-1600 mg of ibuprofen everyday for headaches and neck pain paired with mid back pain from previous domestic abuse. My pain never went away with norcos or Ibuprofen and my gabapentin that helps with nerve damage. The pain was so bad I was sick everyday and the headaches never went away. I had no energy and was so lethargic and just plain depressed. I also wasn't sleeping more than 2 hours a day because the pain kept me awake. Dr. Jay worked with me on the price because I'm a single mom and was never going to be able to afford to come in an make this happen, but he helped me make it happen and with in 1 month (12 adjustments) I feel 98% better then where I was the day I walked into his office. My first visit was on a Friday and that weekend I got the best sleep and noticed each day I did not have the pain I was waking with everyday. As my adjustments went along my mood has improved and very rarely I wake in pain and it's usually from sleeping on my side and not my back. The customer service has been fantastic. Dr. Jay and Cassie are so friendly and they give so much positive vibes! A couple months ago I had thrown my back out and could barely walk. I have consistent back pain due to a bulging disc in my lower back. I was afraid to see a chiropractor because I was scared that it would cause more pain. When I first started seeing Jason my pain level was between an eight and a 10. I was terrified to let anyone touch me. I couldn't even get out of bed without help from my husband. After a week of not being able to get out of bed, my husband was able to talk me into going to see Jason. Since day one Jason has been extremely gentle with me. I've been seeing him three days a week for the last couple of months. I've seen a ridiculous amount of improvement. My pain is now between a 0-4. I'm able to work out, and do things that I haven't been able to do in a long time. Also, even though I've been seeing him for my back, he has been adjusting my neck too.
