We had the worst experience at this hotel. We booked the family room for a weekend for a friends…read morewedding. When we got there it wasn't bad! It smelled fresh and the presentation was decent for an old hotel (I love historic places). However, THE ROOM WAS NOT AS ADVERTISED. We're hanging in our room and all of a sudden we here a big thump come from the ceiling of the bathroom (there are ceiling tiles). My husband listened and could hear mice. We immediately went down to the front desk to asked to have this taken care of. We had a dinner to attend too so we left hoping it would get fixed when we were gone as they said. It wasn't even looked at. They had NOTHING and NOBODY to fix this issue. My kids wouldn't use the washroom so we had to switch hotels entirely that same night. We didn't spend one single night at this hotel. It was a HUGE inconvenience for us. It was more money forked out. It was stressful. AND to top this all off, the owner won't give me back the other half of my money even though we didn't stay. THIS IS THE WORST HOTEL AND MANAGEMENT. DO NOT STAY HERE.

They ALL went above and beyond. The venue was decorated so beautifully, the food was second to none and our room could not have been more surprising. The champagne, chocolates and flowers were amazing. If anyone is looking for an amazing venue, look no further than Causeway Bay. You definitely will not be disappointed. Then I was even more concerned as I tried to check in and was told that their system was down and that I had to wait. No manager onsite and staff was waiting to hear from management about what to do. I was really tired and just wanted to check in as it was almost 5pm. After and hour of waiting they still couldn't check me in so I left for dinner and returned and they still couldn't process my check in but were able to manually open the door to a room. With no key to the door I had to prop it open so that I could get back in with my luggage. Finally the manager arrived and apologized on the phone and sent someone to deliver the key. No compensation for the inconvenience was offered. The room was remodeled so it was comfortable although a bit small leaving little room between the desk and bed. Breakfast looked unappealing so I went out for donuts.

All of this falls short of the excellent meal we had for dinner tonight at the Kilmorey Restaurant. Riley, our server, was so friendly and fun, and our service was great. Our meal started with the Elk meatballs as an appetizer, and they were excellent! I ordered the Salmon, which was again, excellent. I also got to sample Wife's Tomahawk Pork Chop, and all I can say is that I never knew it was possible to make a pork chop taste that good! It was incredible! Finally, we finished the meal with the Carrot Cake, and it was delicious. So yes, the Kilmorey Lodge checked all the boxes for us on a great place to stay while traveling.

Note that there is thin walls so we were offered earplugs from the hotel. Hotel amenities also include e-bikes, hiking gear, bear spray to borrow, etc which was really a nice bonus. There is a very old cool elevator operated by staff for luggage and those who can't walk stairs.

It sits on a mountain top overlooking Upper Waterton Lake. The lobby and outdoor seating, that overlook the lake are open to the public. There was a boy about 12 years old who was playing the piano in the upstairs lobby which was a treat, he was very talented. There was parking at the top of hill with a short stroll down to the lodge. Of course there was a gift shop and bathrooms avaliable to the public. Lovely space worth seeing.
