This pub used to be so rough that I only once came in and immediately turned round and left! Therefore, I was very pleased when the place closed down and reopened as a really chilled local pub. All the original features have been retained. The staff are all really friendly and quickly get to know the regulars. The beer is heavily based around the craft end of the market rather than cask ales (of which they normally have a couple). Nevertheless, the beer selection is good and they sometimes feature the local Hanwell brewery, Weird Beird. Try the Sunday night quiz. It's very well done and the prizes are free beer.
They also serve great pizzas, which are the equal of pizza express vet Al. The fennel sausage pizza is to die for. My only slight niggle is that beer prices are quite high. All told, a fantastic addition to the less than fantastic Hanwell Broadway. read more
