A gem of a store. Lots of local in season fruits, veggies, cheeses, and meats. The prices are reasonable and the staff is well informed and friendly. The store also carries a number of international condiments, sauces, and candies as well as cookbooks, tablecloths, napkins, dishes, bakeware, and kitchen gadgets. read more

Selection is very curated but extremely pricey. I witnessed who I think was the owner at the register being very rude and judgmental to a customer. Shocked at the behavior that was completely unnecessary. read more

Small but well selected collection of local and gourmet foods including vegetables, cheeses, ice cream and packaged meats as well as kitchen supplies. Kind of like a high end convenience store though I'm sure the owners would take exception to that. Shop at the big grocery store around the corner for staples and come to Home Goods for specialty and one of a kind items. read more

Home Goods has been a great store for all kitchen supplies and sundry other items not usually found in a small town. But now this store also carries some great fresh local produce, meats and cheeses. Thursday there is a fresh bread delivery that I was only able to get once but the baguette was great. Will have to try and get there on Thursdays. There is a large selection of local cheeses and fresh milk ,eggs and some desserts. I haven't sampled the desserts but they look great. My dinner tonight has organic bok choy and fresh red leaf lettuce.I have gotten a great ricotta in the past. There is a large selection of all kinds of condiments, almost anything you could wish for.Many spices, too numerous to mention. I'm delighted with the new additions. This Home and especially Kitchen store is terrific. The people who took over the business from the lady who retired have done a fantastic job and created a centerpiece for the Margaretville Village. The business was previously around back of the Village Hall and the new owners relocated it to the intersection of the main streets. Jessica has done everything right and has a fantastic array of items for the home at very reasonable prices. It is obvious from the foot traffic, especially on weekends, that she is doing something (a lot of things, actually) right. The store is neat, clean, organized and has very tasteful displays. It is also very interesting because it has a giant vault in the middle which is a remnant of bygone days when the building was the People's National Bank of Margaretville which merged with NBT Bank in 1963. We have purchased many items at this store and will continue to in the future because it has high quality and very innovative merchandise for the home. read more

I was in town for the day while accompanying my husband on a work trip. I saw this cute little shop on the corner of Main & Bridge streets and had to check it out. There are a variety of home goods, all appropriately sectioned. They hold many items for the bath, kitchen (for baking, for cooking) and even beverage accessories such as wine/whiskey decanters, wine bottle sleeves and mason jars to name a few. The owner was such a sweetheart as well. She was helpful in helping me select the perfect wine bottle cap/stopper, which is a rather essential item being the avid wine drinker that I am! It would be nice to see more small-business home goods shops like this one around my neck of the woods in Queens, NY. read more
