I also enjoyed the beer called Fucking Hell, which was advertised as a special, also excellent value and very tasty. The place is not cheap but after you go there you just don't want to have cocktails any where else. Happy hour is a very good excuse if you are not sure!!!! The crowd is a little elite but cool. The place is clean, service is very good and friendly even they are not really fluent in English. The best dring is the Mathai. I have tried many others but this is my favorite and every time they make it just right!!!! always the same flavour. They also have food but i have never taste it. I looked in the window and motioned for someone to come to the door. The older male bartender with the military style hat opened the door. I asked if they were open and explained that the door was locked. He scolded me explaining that the door is always locked; chewed me out stating I should've rang the bell. The doorbell is on the wall opposite of the door and not clearly marked as the doorbell of the establishment. I apologized and said it was my first time there. I went inside and sat at the bar. This bartender was utterly disgusted by my existence the entire time I was there. Is it because I'm a Black Man? American? The younger slim bartender with a mustache was very nice & helpful. He made me an excellent old fashioned. I told him this was my second time in Berlin and I'm running the Berlin Marathon. We had a nice brief conversation about the marathon and runners, and he invited back to the bar after the marathon. After I finished my drink I sat there with an empty glass for at least 10 minutes with no staff acknowledging me. So finally I waved to the older bartender wearing the hat. He rolled his eyes & head at me and then walked over to me. I told him I was ready to pay, and I paid him. Before I left I shook the hand of the nice bartender and he said see you Sunday. This is my second time in Berlin and third time in Germany, and this is the worst I have ever been treated.
