A local recommended Lake Hound for brunch. It is clean and has a terrific small town vibe. Service is excellent and attentive. I ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito. It is large! Tasty too. My only complaint: The ingredients in the burrito were not evenly distributed. Lots of plain white rice at one end and all the chorizo and eggs at the other. And what is with the unspiced, plain white rice? Chorizo suggests Hispanic seasoning ... The potatoes are expertly prepared, but unseasoned. The portions of guacamole and sour cream are sufficient. Came here with friends for some brunch. We were unsuccessful at finding parking in their small lot, so we had to go to no frills and walk over because it was just super busy at the restaurant. It was moderately loud inside but we can still talk and hear one another. The server was super nice and came to check on us a lot. The food came out and we all loved it! read more

This is a great place to stop by for breakfast if you are around the Grand Bend area. We came on a Wednesday morning and it was packed! I've been to Grand Bend a couple of times and always passed by this place, but boy do I regret it now! My boyfriend and I went one morning sometime last weekend for breakfast and we got seated within a few minutes, lucky for us because right after that the place got a lot busier. I got waffles with fruit on the side, my boyfriend got the Classic breakfast. When the food came out it was hot and fresh, the fruits were sweet & fresh as well, my waffles were super filling but with the help of my boyfriend they were finished! We had great service, super friendly ladies there. Oh! and they have muffins and smoothie bowls that are different everyday. We went around 1030 am on a Friday, and place was way understaffed for how busy they were. Waited an hour from sitting down to getting food. Staff is pleasant, there are just not enough of them, and/or the kitchen isn't big enough or staffed enough for the amount of tables they have. What an excellent dining experience! The servers were attentive and very friendly and my husband and I really enjoyed the live music on the patio! They have a great regular, gluten free, vegan and vegetarian menu and were able to accommodate all my dietary issues. Phew!!! I really appreciated this as many restaurants do not. I had a burger with vegan cheese with yummy root vegetables fries and a delicious slice of homemade vegan cheesecake! Wow, wow, wow!!! This is a busy place so it may be a good idea to make a reservation.! We will be back next time we are in town! A perfect way to end our holiday and celebrate our anniversary! read more

There are some abandoned books in a bookcase that are fascinating, including a racist 1953 book called Inside Africa that reveals much about colonialism.
