They know their Macs and their not frightened to use their knowledge. Mac Alert have recently moved into new premises on South Road at Edwardstown and they're now opposite the Avoca Hotel. Business must be going well for these guys because they have significantly upsized their shop. I have my eye on a 27" iMac in Mac Alert store at the moment. I think they understand that people like me come in a few times before they actually make a purchase. At least I hope they do, if not I apologise for visiting your shop so often.

Okay, I may be a bit dramatic about this but I am just sick and tired of whoever I ask, no-one knows how to fix my cracked mobile screen. This is simply what happened: 1. While running, I dropped my phone and upon impact with the ground, cracked the screen. 2. Luckily, I had a friend that knew you so I took it in for repair. 3. You said it Android mobiles were too complicated and you weren't able to do anything for me. 4. You said you don't know which screen to pick to replace this screen. 5. I was told to try my original phone shop, as they would know how to repair it better than you. Better to be honest, than to promote your own business, right? 6. Vodafone was more than happy to repair my phone screen for AUS $250 upfront. Are you joking?! Gimme my phone back. I'll live with the cracked screen for the next 12 months. Thumbs down.

I was pretty disappointed, annoyed and worried that I'd have to deal with a dodgy phone repairer. The kind who would take weeks to get my phone back to me citing excuses like 'the parts haven't come in yet' when I know the truth is 'I've been watching cat videos on youtube for the past two weeks and haven't got around to fixing your pathetic phone'. Luckily a friend put me on to the folks at this fast and effective repairer, Psytech. They're based out of a second storey suite on Hindley Street, and the place looks a little odd. There's a waiting room with MC Escher paintings on the wall and a bloke who is presumably a massive fan of Doctor Who behind the desk. However, they're kind and patient about explaining what needs to be done to fix your phone. They gave me a free quote, my phone came back within a week, and even though electronic repairs can be notoriously expensive, I didn't feel like they were pulling my fillings to line their pockets. All in all, a great little business better than the big boys.

What makes this one stand apart from all the others? I think the printing service at Trinity Gardens is first class. They are always prompt and will let you know if there's a delay in getting your job done. I also think the staff here are super helpful. There is one older man in particular who has helped me in the past and I often see him helping other customers take oversized items out to their cars. It may sound pretty obvious but not all shops offer this really basic service.

They do still stock some copic markers and staedtler items so not all is lost. They also have a pretty easy to use photo printing service which I really should use more because printed photos are cool. Their ink prices for printers is still exorbitant and I'd rather just go to the library and print or buy ink off the internet, and they sell really crap knock of designer furniture like plastic versions of classic Eames chairs so that sucks. It would be great if Officeworks had a design section with rolls of paper, bleed proof paper and Copic marker refills for pen and paper nerds like me, but like another reviewer said, they are the "bunnings of stationery" and like bunnings, woolworths etc, they only stock what is economical for them, not necessarily the best products for the end user.

What's something good I can say about this place....? It's in a convenient locator ion that's close to work, however this doesn't count for much since you're going to be late for work anyway because the staff like to keep people waiting. Speaking of the staff there is a serious attitude problem, as they love to let you know just how much of an inconvenience you being there is to them. I think that this place looking to get the pocket my name is in a pair of trousers replaced. I was charged $50 and asked to return in a week. Upon collecting my trousers I found for the pocket linings were not replaced, just the holes sewn up. This meant that I had to purchase linings and see them into the trousers myself only a week later. When trying to discuss this with establishment of the attitude went from cold and distant to hot and hostile very quickly! You do not want to pull these guys up on their mistakes! So many reviews from people with very similar stories, why are they still operating?

Not a bad innings or investment or sales transaction. They sell all types of vacuum cleaners, steam mops, accessories and provide service and repairs. Several makes of vacuum cleaners are stocked such as Hoover, Miele, Electrolux and others, plus one in particular was being firmly pushed when I was on my quest to find a good vacuum - as my trusty 25 year old Volta finally died - on Wertheim. You may like it or lump it, some have been lumbered with it but you decide and it's all in the sales pitch my friends. Needless to say I didn't end up purchasing through Godfreys as my personal experience was the sales people were pushing what they wanted to sell and not what I needed to buy.

So they've made a decent bit of cash out of me. You know me though, I wouldn't be going to this business if it cost me the earth, I love it when I can get something not necessarily as a bargain but for less than I expected to pay,. So I daresay if you live locally then it's going to be cheaper to jump on the freeway and head up to Mt Barker for printing, but if it's urgent and your work is due by the end of the day you can be sure these guys will get it done on time for you. I cannot tell you how many times these guys have saved my ass in the school work department, just a tip: If the work is bad, and you know it's bad because you sat up the night before writing it, bind it and suddenly it's good. Of course if you had some pretty pictures you wanted printed up you could come here for that too, although if you have a good printer at home I would say don't be lazy, be cheap and do it yourself, unless you want a massive print of course.
