They are a life saver. Did an amazing job and hung my shirts. Traveling by plane and when transferring my luggage, in the rain, put my bag in a puddle. The front section with my long sleeved shirts and Pjs got wet. Draped the garments in the bathroom and on chairs. Next morning realized they would need washing. Found the Laundry Basket on Yelp, great reviews. For out of towners like us the streets in Pittsburgh are a mystery. From Apple Maps we found it. $2 a pound for them to wash and dry them. It could have been ready in an hour but we couldn't wait. Picked it up the next morning and it was perfect. Now I have something nice to wear for the family reunion. Amazing full-service laundry! They were a lifesaver when we were moving and needed to wash a large amount of clothes as we moved out. This was a complete time-saver and well worth the money! Our clothes were washed in Tide (our choice) and smelled they amazing. They let you choose the detergent and ask about any allergies. They sorted ournclothes by type, folded them neatly, and placed all my dresses and specialty garments on hangers and in a plastic covering. Will highly recommend! read more

Busy place. Very friendly owners and staff. Apparently a lot of people drop their laundry off and the staff does the laundry during the day. Plenty of regular size and heavy duty washers and dryers to choose from. Not a lot of chairs to sit in while one waits for their laundry. But most people went outside and just timed their return for when their laundry loads were done. Jumping place with new, we'll maintained machines and, as I said before, friendly staff. I needed the BIG washers to clean my comforters, a quilt, and bath rugs. My washer gets unbalanced no matter how carefully I load it. Expensive? I can't judge since I do this maybe once a year and this is the only place I've used. But I'm using the maxi washer so, yeah, I went through a few quarters! The machine is very spacious and clean. The guy working today is really great- overheard me day I needed the biggest washer (the front ones were busy) and he pointed me to the back ones. He also alerted me to the price differential between the maxi and the trope load. He helped someone unload their washer, and checked in with me to make sure I was doing okay. Nice guy, customer oriented. It's very clean in here, well lit, and overall a nice enough environment. Only a few chairs to sit on- oh well. I had to drive here, but looks like a lot of locals use it so the lack of chairs probably isn't a big deal for them read more

The Laundry Basket is awesome! I just recently discovered his place and I am quick to become a regular. I dropped my huge comforter off on a Monday evening and it was ready for pick up Tuesday afternoon. Now that is quick service! My comforter is was too big to fit in my washer & knowing I can just drop it off for a good cleaning & pick it up the very next day is incredibly convenient & only $18! The laundry basket also washes & folds clothes by the pound as wall as dry cleans your more delicate items. They even offer tailoring. The staff is really friendly and quick and the prices are reasonable. They are also open late for those who work during the day making it incredible easy to swing by at any time. I have been going to The Laundry Basket for almost 10 years. Today will be my last time. I came in with one load of laundry and "Ava" I believe from the start was gruff and dismissive knowing that it was close to last wash I asked if it was too late( I know her personality to be abrasive) "you just made it "then when taking my things to the dryer, trying to be as expedient as possible she hemmed and passive aggressively deemed that the first dryer was not going to work for me.... The former owners would NEVER had made my business feel so unwelcome. I see the business has become more commercial driven... but you are open to the public as well. Poor customer service. read more

I've done my own laundry and also wash and fold. I'm so grateful for the convenience of both services. When I do wash and fold, the turnaround times are quick which is great because I'm very busy at those times. Sometimes if I have a free afternoon I'll do the laundry myself, and I enjoy walking around Potomac Avenue and supporting other local businesses in between loads. Clothes are ready super fast (within hours of our drop off), are organized in logical groupings for easy put away, and are cleaned as we asked (scented vs unscented). I use their wash and fold service. I drop my laundry off Monday morning before work, and pick it up after work in the evening. They only charge $1.20 per pound, and I get everything back washed, dryed and folded. I've been going for awhile and nothing has ever been damaged or lost. It's super convenient, affordable, and I imagine it's what having a housewife would be like. Love this place! read more

Pretty good laundromat, though not without it's...quirks. Since my apartment doesn't have a laundry room, this is the closest laundromat for me to wash my clothes. What I like about this place is that it's bright, pretty clean, and the attendant is very friendly. If you go at a good time (weekday evening or early morning on weekends) it's also pretty empty -- which I like. They also have a little sitting area to hang out in, rather than having to lean against your washing machine. The downside is that it's more expensive than other laundromats I've been to, and the dryers are pretty tricky (some take forever to dry your clothes, some run too hot, sometimes make your clothes smell like gas... not sure about that last one) so that part is a bit of a guessing game. Overall, the positives outweigh the negatives. Any laundromat you go to is going to have some inconveniences, but this is by far one of the nicer ones I've used. read more
