I hired Ty do some estate planning/trust setup for me and he was great. I didn't know the first thing about it but he laid the process out clearly and gave me some suggestions based on what I told him about myself and family. Everything was filed and mailed fast, which is all I can ask (although I will say that this is the only time I've ever needed estate planning so I don't really have a frame of reference). Then claimed I hadn't signed the legal letter stating they were no longer to represent me soon enough to avoid the extra $5,000. It was more than disgusting! I too, went to the divorce workshop. That's how they lure you in. Do not expect the magnanimous treatment to continue! Make sure you have atleast $50k to throw away on your divorce if you use their services. read more

I am very unhappy. I got stuck on honey they spread in their advertisement on the website talking about "Flat Fee Divorce Packages" But unfortunately it doesn't work like that. They are trying to make as much $$$ as possible. Thy quote you a price which triples at the end. You pay for every single call (even if it takes 30 seconds) minimum 12 minutes of the lawyers time= $70.I spent over $2,000 mainly for preparing forms and at the end I had to leave because the charges were never-ending. They were so angry that they gave me my forms that I paid them to do back stamped and written all over with a permanent marker so I am enable to use them. They even refused to e-mail me blank forms in order for me to rewrite them myself and wished me good luck. Ty shared with me that the common practice used to be to find out how much $$$ the client has and take it all dividing it between the two attorneys . I was desperate and convinced myself to pay his extremely high hourly rate thinking I was hiring someone with that type of experience. How disappointed was I when I realized that he couldn't or wouldn't apply that experience to my case. I felt that he did a lot of BIG TALK--NO ACTION!!! I felt he tried to piece me out to his high priced associates to get a slice of the pie, seeing as the first thing he asked me to do was to disclose all my assets. I felt like he prolonged my case intentionally. At the end of nearly a very costly year, I was no closer to any resolutions. I did experience what I deemed to be a lack of integrity from this person that had my life in their hands. A 1-star rating is too high for this attorney. I was referred to The Law Collaborative (TLC) by a colleague. I grew even more interested in working with the firm when I learned its mission is to help clients pursue the most peaceful and cost-effective solutions for separation, divorce, and nullity matters. TLC promotes negotiation and mediation over expensive court battles. From the first time I met Ty Supancic I was impressed by his intelligence, honesty, kindness, and good-natured personality. After we discussed and evaluated my options, I chose to pursue a nullity. A divorce would have been an easier and cheaper route for me to take. However, divorces only allow one to state "irreconcilable differences" as the reasons for the death of the marriage. Since this was not an accurate depiction of the facts, I decided to file for a nullity. From the start I was advised that obtaining a nullity would be a challenge. A nullity enables one to outline the chronology of events and list the specific causes (and explain why one party is at fault) for the end of the marriage, and thus allows one to present a more comprehensive case to the court. However, judges still very rarely grant them. It was clear to me that we were facing an uphill battle. However, I felt confident that I was in good hands with Ty as my representative and advocate. I worked closely with him for months gathering and reviewing the evidence for inclusion in my case, and assisting with the development of the legal documents. Ty is an extremely gifted writer, so this actually made the process enjoyable for me. He was able to consistently and accurately reflect my perspectives in his prose. Ty was also highly responsive to me during all of our communications about the case. I would receive replies to my emails within minutes sometimes, and he always made time to take my telephone calls. He answered at length every question I ever posed, and even took the time to explain larger legal concepts to me. In addition, Ty went to extraordinary lengths to accommodate my schedule for the few times we needed to meet in person. He even spent five hours with me finalizing the court documents and organizing the evidence for the nullity the day before the law office needed to be packed and moved to a new location. He never once tried to rush me or act like he had anywhere else to be but there working on my case. I am pleased to say we obtained the nullity shortly after filing our legal documents in court! The partners in the law firm said it was the first time in their collective 60 plus years of practicing law that they had ever seen a nullity granted so swiftly and based on the strength of the legal documents alone. Customarily a "prove-up" hearing is required with witnesses called to provide testimony. Here is an excerpt from a thank you letter I wrote to Ty following our legal victory: "I am so overwhelmed with gratitude that words are not sufficient to show my appreciation for your work at this moment. So, I will simply say again that I have been tremendously blessed to have you represent me and advocate for me in this nullity. Ty, your unsurpassed intelligence, legal skills, work ethic, sense of humor, unwavering kindness, and cheerful personality truly brought out the best in me. I developed great confidence in your abilities, and this allowed me to focus on the sometimes emotionally difficult process. Equally important to me was feeling encouraged and supported by you every step of the way. Your positive outlook kept me from becoming undermined by doubt, or entertaining any fear that I was "wasting" time and money on my pursuit of what I knew were worthy goals. First of all folks don't do mediation. If you're getting divorced get real attorneys not someone who isn't good enough to be a REAL attorney. You need someone looking out for you and someone in the middle is not. Now to Ty, first he is anything but impartial he took sides in our mediation many times and inserted himself into decisions he should not have and talked my ex out of things already decided. Secondly he screwed up our paperwork so that now I have to retain a REAL attorney at my own cost to fix support issues. When I called him to make good on that and fix it for us since we paid him 5000 dollars he refused and stop talking to us. Don't be taken in by this guy. I should have known better by the first thing he told us when we sat down. A story about how in his divorce he refused to stand next to his ex during his daughters graduation so his daughter had to choose to go to one parent or the other when she came off stage. Any MAN that would do that to his child is not someone you want handling your case. I beg you all to retain REAL competent attorneys who will advocate for you. This guy is just a scammer that will charge you and not do what you asked all the while not being impartial. read more

Divorce can be a very painful process. It sure was for me. And despite the fact that I coach men through this kind of process for a living, I still found myself in a surreal world that took me to new depths of emotion. Anger, disbelief, betrayal. I found myself feeling things I had never felt before. I found myself considering actions that were completely out of character. I had desperate times. This attorney defrauded my now ex-wife into thinking he would act as a mediator whereas he actually only represented her during our divorce. Not only that but he asked for a $5,000 retainer upfront (an outrageous fee for a so-called "mediation") while most of the work was done by paralegals. His office was slow to respond, fast to bill.
