We enrolled our almost nonverbal 18-month-old son here in 2023, and we will forever be grateful to all the teachers and staff for their continuous support, compassion, and incredible patience. All of his classroom teachers--Ms. Holly, Ms. Orianna, Ms. Leehe, Ms. Kala, Ms. Savannah, Ms. Summer, and all the other wonderful teachers--along with Ms. Anne and Ms. Ginny, have been incredibly supportive and caring. They took care of our son with the utmost sincerity, kindness, and understanding. They always made him feel safe, included, and encouraged him to participate and connect with others at his own pace. When our son first started here, he had significant social anxiety and was almost nonverbal. Over the past 2.5 years, we have witnessed an incredible transformation. He started TK this year as a happy, confident, highly social, and very chatty little boy! He has not only made tremendous progress in his communication and social skills, but he has also grown into such a kind, caring, and thoughtful child. What impressed us most was that the teachers never gave up on him. They celebrated his small achievements, encouraged him through his challenges, and created a warm and nurturing environment where he could grow and thrive. Their dedication and genuine care made such a meaningful difference in his development and confidence. We truly believe that the love, patience, encouragement, and support he received from everyone at this daycare played a huge role in helping him become the child he is today. We could not have asked for a better place or a more caring group of teachers to be part of his early years. We will always be grateful to Children's Courtyard at Newbury Park and to every teacher and staff member who has been part of our son's journey. We wish this school and its wonderful team nothing but the very best and wholeheartedly recommend it to other families!

Miss Ginny always brightens the day with her smile, full of energy and joy, and she makes Nicole's day just the same with her energetic spirit. Nicole has two wonderful teachers, Miss Leehe and Miss Sevanah, who made my daughter enjoy going to daycare and love it--even asking for them on holidays. They help Nicole so much in terms of growth and education, and I'm sure they do the same for all the children. I am so happy that my daughter goes to this school with all these excellent teachers.

Our attempts at speaking to the administration and to the teachers were met with distain and indifference. I actually ordered a book from Amazon called "Teeth Are Not For Biting" and sent them to the classroom. I was never thanked for any of these contributions and for my kind demeanor toward the administration, despite their brusque manner. I asked for reports about my child's progress I was given none. All one teacher would constantly tell me it was that my toddler needed speech therapy! At 25 months old she became very loquacious and at 28 months I knew it was time to switch schools. I decided to visit Mrs. Clark at Monte Vista. Mrs. Clark actually apologize for the treatment that my daughter received the other school and within the first couple of months of enrollment, I have seen a drastic improvement in my child's personality. She is more outgoing, more attentive, happier, and more secure. Her teacher Ms. Foojan provides constantly updates without prompting and she understands my child. The classrooms are personalized, small, and the student-teacher ratio is low. Other staff and teachers from different classes approach me and my husband on a weekly basis and give us positive reports about our daughter. The school has so many wonderful programs and additions to classroom activities such as gymnastics cooking and other extracurricular activities. Specialized care and attention is bar none and every time I pick up my daughter I do not have to go through a barrage of security questions and I have direct access to my child. I cannot stress enough how wonderful the school is and how much it has enriched my child's education and the development of her character.

A hidden gem! NDLC does a wonderful job of creating a play-based, child-led learning environment…read morethat balances structure with play and fosters curiosity, social-emotional learning, and care for God's creation. Our family especially loves the focus on nature/outdoor time (nature walks, gardening, mud kitchen, huge fenced in play yard, animals in the classroom, bringing nature items indoors, etc.) and the school's approach to teaching about God through nature and the spirit rather than dogma. Children learn to thank God through prays at mealtime, learn about God through creation, and celebrate Christian holidays. The school follows a play-based curriculum and classrooms offer various stations, including dramatic play, drawing/writing, painting, circle time, books, blocks, etc. Teachers put a lot of intentionality into the classroom space and curriculum for a wholistic play-filled learning experience. However, if you are looking for a more academic-based curriculum (worksheets, formal structure similar to elementary schools), this will not fit your needs. All skills are taught but are approached through play. The school is small, with only two classrooms (2-3s & 4-5s) and appx. 15 children (give or take) per class with a teacher and assistant teacher, plus other floating staff who are always engaged. This allows for a lot of one-on-one time. The school is a little less techy than other schools, which may be a plus or minus depending on family needs. The school does not use a comprehensive preschool app for sign in, notifications, payments, etc. like many other schools do. Instead, photos are shared through an photo app and all other things like sign in, payments, and events are shared on paper. Lastly, pricing is on the lower end for the area compared to other preschools and extended hours are available for parents trying to balance full-time work and parenting.

My daughter started in the Butterflies class at age 2, and moved through the classes until the Owls, the oldest class. Her teacher in the Butterflies was the perfect transition from being at home with me, to going into a classroom for the first time. Her warmth, understanding, and patience were (and still are) unmatched. The Director of the school is very communicative, she thrives on parent feedback, and I truly believe does everything in her power to ensure a safe and welcoming environment In the preschool. Like all daycare, childcare, and preschool facilities, of course there will be some issues that may come up. I've heard of only 1 such occurrence in the last 4 years, and it was dealt with and is now a non-issue. The only reason I'm mentioning such a thing is because of a recent review that I couldn't disagree with more. All the staff there is happy to be working with children, so smiley and kind and patient with them. I've been to (and worked at) preschools where the teachers are miserable, don't like children, and only working for the paycheck. This is not that kind of place at all. The school uses Brightwheel, an app that I found valuable in those years she was at preschool. You can see what they're crafting, eating, playing that day. You get an instant report and photo if your little one scrapes her knee. Even a quick mention of how they've cheered up afterward. Truly a great tool, and well implemented by all staff members. I've seen negative reviews about the school and I can't wrap my head around what would cause someone to write such powerful and negative words about a lovely, kind, inclusive place of learning. If I were ever in the position to need to choose a preschool again, there would be no question. Christ the King would be the choice.

I chose to place my youngest in the care of Christ the King Preschool and I'm happy to say that it was a great decision! It is an amazing environment and the teaching staff will have your child's best interests and positive development in mind. It is family centric and they teach positive values that might get less focus from more mainstream child care services.
