We debated pre-k but could not leave because walnut country offer the space for your child to learn while being a kid instead of sitting at a desk at 4 years old. Arts, crafts, sandbox, games songs, nonnies, parent participation, love oh so much love. If your looking for the best Concord/ clayton/ walnut creek preschool this is the best! Kids should be kids, they should be loved, they should learn with their hearts and hands especially in the first 5 years. Walnut country offers this!

He enjoyed the play based learning environment, the large indoor and outdoor spaces and the amazing, caring teachers. Our family truly cannot say enough good things about this school. Not only did my son have fun, but he was really prepared for kindergarten. He is in kindergarten now and performing at a higher level than some of his peers and I know that it is due to his preschool education. There are four teachers and I really feel that the low student to teacher ratio is important in this stage of learning. Being in a great school like this for two years helped my shy son blossom into a confident kiddo who enjoys school. It's evident that the teachers really enjoy their jobs and do great work with the kids. Currently my youngest son is attending preschool here and enjoys is as well! This preschool is also wonderful for the great community that it fosters. There are a number of family and parent only nights where you get to know the other families. Parents are allowed to volunteer in the classroom and get involved in so many ways. I highly recommend this preschool!

While I'm excited that she's growing up and moving on to new things, I'm sad to have to leave First Lutheran (only because she's old enough to move on to elementary school). I could not have asked for a better preschool experience for my child. We became quite attached to the whole staff, as each and every one of them truly cared about the well-being of our daughter. Many a time i actually had to chase her down because she didn't want to leave! The rates are quite reasonable (let's just say I was saving close to $400/month compared to where she was going in SF), and it's nice that they take kids starting at age 2 and still in diapers. They help potty train, also, and once they are potty trained the price goes down a bit. My daughter learned so many things at FLPS, and I especially loved when she came home singing a new song. The children attend chapel once a week, and it was always cute when she would relate the stories she learned to me, such as the story of 'Adam and E' (that's what she called it haha). I loved the "Parents' Night Out" that they offered every so often...it gave me and my husband a chance to get out, and the children have a great time in a familiar environment. I feel so lucky to have found FLPS, and I would definitely recommend it to any parents looking for a preschool in the area.

Flps welcomed us and created an enjoyable, safe, and inclusive environment. Our child thrived here, learned to speak and communicate more, learned to play with other kids (he refused to be next to other kids before here). He learned so much and gained so many skills here. Ms. Anna was amazing and always made him feel loved and welcome as well as the other staff. It's so hard to trust others with your child especially when your child can't communicate but this was best possible place for him. We wish we didn't have to leave for elementary. I would recommend this place a thousand times over. We loved it here and our child loved it here.

Our child began attending Concordia in kindergarten and four years later, they are thriving!…read moreConcordia is everything we could hope for in a school and a community. The teachers are caring and invested. The Montessori curriculum gives the child ownership and responsibility for their own learning with guidance from the teachers, while allowing room for playful curiosity. The school also places a focus on social responsibility, so my child isn't just getting an academic education but a social education as well: learning personal responsibility, learning to interact with mixed age groups, to problem-solve through conflict resolution, and to contribute through acts of kindness at school and at home. The school is delightfully "dumb" in that devices and online learning are not a part of the lower grade levels. The kids are taught cursive and write out most of their works. Homework is not introduced until the third grade level. And I love that kids have the option to work in the way that suits them best, whether that's on the floor, sitting at a desk, or standing at a table. They can work with a friend, or work alone in the quiet room to aid focus. The school understands that every kid's learning process is a little different and helps set the kids up for success. We feel so fortunate to have found this school that is so caring and inclusive of families of all races, ethnicities, gender identity, family structure, and/or socioeconomic status. In addition to feeling like the right learning environment for our child, we are so grateful to have found this community and be welcomed into it. We will be so sorry to leave after 6th grade!

We looked at many preschools before deciding to enroll at Concordia and we haven't looked back. From preschool all the way to sixth grade, this is a special place where the teachers and staff care about each and every child's academic and social development. It really feels like being part of a big family. The school just celebrated their 50th anniversary - they have been around so long that my husband went to the school when he was a kid! Its great to be a part of a long-standing community. Who knows, maybe my grandkids will go here some day!

I decided to take my son out of the previous day care he was at and put him in Happy Little Faces and the great difference of care shows. Additionally, all kids participate in all holidays and festivities. It is just so cute and adorable seeing our children recite in Spanish and dance to Latin music too. Both my girls have attended what I thought was a daycare and quickly realized was a wonderful little school. They have both learned so much Spanish and have been thoroughly prepared to start school. Pilar and Marlene have taken such good care of my kids. They have so many great activities there including a Christmas party, a Santa visit/annual picture, a graduation ceremony (with caps and gowns!), field trips, a beautiful little book of photos when your little one finally leaves to go to Kindergarten, and more. Recently they even added an app so you can see videos and photos of what your kiddo is doing there during the day. I am sad to go, but a new travel adventure awaits us, so we must say "Adios!" All three of our babies grew up in their care, and from the very first day, they felt loved, safe, and genuinely happy to be there. Even on weekends, my kids would ask if they could go because they enjoyed it so much. The environment is warm, nurturing, and filled with opportunities to grow. My kids thrived socially, learned so much, and were completely prepared for school (I could see it too since I also teach in elementary.) They were also potty trained and taught the kind of kindness and respect that carries over into every part of their lives. Helen and Natasha always took the time to give me updates, and I could see the love and dedication they put into every single day. Now our two oldest are thriving in elementary school, and our youngest just had her last day here as she transitions to preschool. While we are so proud of her, our hearts are heavy knowing that finding care even close to what Helen and Natasha provide will be impossible. One of my favorite things has always been the way my kids walk in and go straight for a big hug. That moment says everything about the trust, comfort, and bond they share here. The hours are wonderful, the care is exceptional, and the love is unmatched. Helen and Natasha have truly become family to us, and we will forever be grateful for the way they cared for and shaped our children's early years.
