We started at LF April 2022. My son's current therapist is Eric, sometimes Cina when Eric's out. They both beyond awesome! We started with parenting training for 1st 3 sections to learn reflux massage, and move to 1:1. I can see my kid's focus has improved significantly after 5 weeks in. On top of that, they also do regular OT but goes much deeper in terms of working with some behaviors as well. We also go to two other OT offices besides LF. What makes the big difference is they really care! Eric is very good at communicating what he and my son is working, how he did it, and what progress he has made at every section. Eric's good at setting up realistic goals and measures it closely. His communication,patience, on top of his OT skills made a big difference for us to learn about our son's sensory needs and how to handle them. LF is outa network for us. It's not cheap, but you won't need to waste time to go anywhere. They really know what they are doing with our kid. Highly recommended. read more

We have been going for over a year and couldn't be happier with their services. Kim at the front desk is just simply amazing. She is accommodating with schedules, she helps with ANY questions you have and is there to help you along the way. Joan, billing and insurance extraordinaire! We had a unique situation and she was so knowledgeable and helped us work it out. Ms Cina did our intake and evaluation and some of our initial therapy sessions. Her expertise and experience is admirable. The way she connects with the kids too is just something else. Ms Shruti was our therapist for our treatment and we have such great love for her. The learning fountain has been a game changer for my son. He has sensory processing disorder. A condition I had never heard of but I saw something was different with him early on. He has low frustration tolerance, sensitivity to certain sounds and touch. With the help and support of The Learning Fountain he is learning techniques to use at home and in school. It has changed the dynamic and given me tools needed to have more constructive happy days! He loves going to OT and you can't ask for more than that. Thank you to the team!! read more

I had a very negative experience with The Learning Fountain, especially with the receptionist Kim.  She is very arrogant and talks to you in a condescending way. She always arranged a newer therapist for us.  When other parents told me to request a more senior therapist, Kim told me that the particular therapist had no available spots, even though I talked to the therapist myself, and she told me directly that she had one spot open.  It got so bad, I had to take the issue to the owner to get it resolved. The practice also claims they use Masgutova method and the owner trains their therapists to use the method. However, when I took my son to attend the annual Masgutova method conference, I was told the owner is not licensed at all and there's only one therapist there who is actually licensed. And that's not all. The company sent me a bill of $200ish dollars one year after we left their service.  At the time of service, we had already met all our deductibles and our insurance should have paid 100%.  I have no idea why they don't deal with their billing with the insurance in a timely fashion.  And to make matters worse, Kim sent the bill to collection, so now we have to pay additional penalties. All in all, a very shady company to deal with. read more

I could not be happier with The Learning Fountain. We've been coming here since 2015. Kim at the front desk has always been extremely friendly, helpful and easy to deal with. She has worked with my son's schedule to get him appointments that work with his schooling, and has all around been very communicative (both e-mail and over the phone) about everything to do with his appointments. Shruthi and Cina, my son's OTs, are fantastic and passionate about helping special needs children! We first saw Cina for the first couple of months for parent training on Musgatova Method, and then we transitioned to Shruthi for weekly OT appointments. Shruthi takes the time after each session to let me know how my son has improved and what I can do at home to help. She is great with kids which makes going to these sessions easier. My son is always looking forward to his sessions with her because she makes the session fun and exciting, and has tons of cool stuff in her office - zipline, trapeze-type swinging contraptions and more. Perhaps equally important, she has helped me as I have continued to advocate for my son, providing reports for evaluations, counseling me on strategies for school, listening when I needed support, and sharing her opinion when I needed a second set of eyes.  My son has made enormous strides in his abilities and is now on level with his peers in his grade level; we owe so much to Shruthi and Cina for helping make this happen! read more

This place is a complete blessing to my son and me! A few years ago, my little guy was diagnosed with a sensory processing disorder (he loves anything to do with water!) and also a developmental delay as he didn't do a few things expected of him to at his age, like play pretend or speak to the degree a 3 year old should. It was recommended that he go to Occupational Therapy for his sensory issues and let me tell you, it was soooo hard to find a pediatric OT. We first went through John Muir, but it was a good hour and a half to get there (Hayward to Pleasant Hill) and the only engaged therapist was constantly booked and we could never get any appointments. I came across this place by scouring the internet and called. There was a little wait for assessment (about two weeks), and during that time, the wonderful lady in charge of billing (I forgot her name) helped me understand insurance and helped me get a gap assessment since I was driving so far to my current therapist and also couldn't get appointments that he needed at John Muir. So I was covered, insurance- wise and there was a sense of relief about that! My son has been seeing a regular therapist (Shruthi) for about 4-5 months now, twice a week, and he has made significant strides. He's more focused than he ever was and he even has become super independent. He is even writing letters and drawing stick figures, shapes, and connecting dots, something that he never liked to do! She uses the "handwriting without tears method" and it is working very well with my son. I also noticed his sensory processing is toned down quite a bit --- he used to LOVE to watch the water come out of faucets, flushing toilets, etc. and talk about it all the time. He does not obsess about these things as much and can go about his day without turning the sink on! Even his preschool teachers are impressed with how he is growing and how his focus has improved. Shruthi really works with him so that he can focus on tasks and listening and I have noticed that he listens so well and does the tasks being asked of him, which is such an achievement! He rarely has meltdowns anymore and has become a happy, easy going child! In conjunction with speech therapy, Shruthi has really helped him flourish to his potential. I am so thrilled that I found this place! It's a very warm, caring environment. Recently my insurance had been sending me checks instead of paying the Learning Fountain directly, which they had been doing for most of the months. I've worked with Kim and she's helped me organize the checks so that I can track what insurance pays me and what I owe the Learning Fountain. She's made sense of all the insurance confusion! I'd be lost if she didn't basically hold my hand and explain in detail what's going on with insurance! All in all, a very happy mommy and a growing, happy child. He loves coming to Learning Fountain and always looks forward to learning with Miss Shruthi. Thank you Learning Fountain! read more

My daughter had feeding and sensory issues. We started the therapy in Jan 2018 and completed in May 2019. She finished her therapy much earlier, but I was hesitant to stop seeing the therapist. My daughter initially worked with a different therapist and was later switched to Ms. Alice due to schedule conflicts. Switching to Ms. Alice worked like a charm. They both gelled well together and my daughter knew exactly what Ms. Alice rules were. She always looked forward to her therapy days. Its been 4months that we stopped the therapy, she still remembers Ms. Alice and wants to go see her. She now eats all foods without any fuss and readily accepts to try new foods. Thank you Ms.Alice for everything you did. You are a rockstar. Kim has done an amazing job with my daughter's schedule. She is very friendly and helpful. We've been going to The Learning Fountain for almost two years and we cannot say enough great things about it. We've been going for both speech and OT services. Serene and Damara have both been our speech therapists and have made extraordinary progress in my sons social/pragmatic language skills. They think out of the box to achieve the results and really partner with me in identifying and helping him in his needs. We've seen almost every OT there due to our own schedule changes and we couldn't be more pleased. The gross motor room is the best I've seen in an OT office and I've been to several. The therapists notice what my son is lacking sensory-wise and provide the input he needs to where I can see an immediate difference. They are also great at parent education. Kim at the front desk is just amazing. She is a dream scheduler amongst the other things she does. I love working with her. read more

This review is long overdue. My son came to the Learning Fountain almost 14 years ago. He was referred through Kaiser originally for oral motor feeding. Eufrocina helped him with OT & PT as well as the Oral motor. It was amazing to see him improve each week and month. He is still a picky eater (but getting better as he gets older) and doesn't like some textures in his mouth but such an improvement from when he came to The Learning Fountain. Early intervention was the key to our success. I'm thankful to them for all they do to help our kids. He is about to move into High School. The Learning Fountain has made such a big difference for my family. My youngest daughter was evaluated because we had concerns with her development/milestones. The process was so thorough and I felt comfortable every step of the way. Ms Rachel is my daughters therapist and every time I think about her it bring tears to my eyes. She truly has a magical talent. Her approach is loving but firm. She is has worked so hard with Quinn and gives practical tools that we use at home. The progress my daughter has made while with the learning fountain is something I am so proud of! She will graduate out of the program this month and I'm going to miss seeing Rachel. We are all excited but sad at the same time especially Quinn. She loves coming here because she knows it's making her feel better. Shortly after my youngest daughter started with the learning fountain it became clear that my oldest daughter needed to be evaluated as well. She had seen a speech therapist at school but we weren't seeing much progress. After going through the evaluation we learned that Thea needed help with motor planning and other areas of development. She is spending her time with OT and speech. The 1:1 support helped SO SO much. She is now comfortable talking and people can now understand her. Ms. Lynn is my oldest daughters therapist and she is also amazing! She is one of her biggest fan and teaches her to overcome many fears, that I thought would never go away. She also finds books and tools that are meeting her needs. When Lynn talks with me about her progress she lights up and I truly know she cares a lot. She celebrates every milestone. All the staff and all the therapist here have been like family and when I'm having a hard day they always ask me how I'm doing and for that moment I can breath again knowing I'm in the best hands. read more

My daughter has been seeing Kris or OT at The Learning Fountain for about a year. It's covered by our insurance, we get regular reports about progress and goals, and I love the email reminders about upcoming appointments. Communication is great and Kris has found ways to keep our daughter interested and motivated to keep progressing towards her OT goals. read more

They have a great setting with very interesting climbing slings, obstacle course etc. Everything is geared towards developing kids to their full potential. My daughter was a little over 4 years old and we didn't know where to turn. Her eating habits were not improving after seeing a nutritionist for a year. She ate about 6 things total on any given day and rotated through them, crying and running away when asked to even touch a new food. Besides that, she had major potty training issues. The problem was larger than we originally thought. We made an appointment with the Learning Fountain Feeding Specialist and OT. The therapists educated my husband, myself and my daughter about her Sensory Processing Disorder and gave us the tools to help resolve the issues that had prevented her from enjoying life fully. She is now much happier and enjoying many different types of foods and willing to try new things the majority of the time. She hasn't had a potty accident in about a month now! We love these wonderful people and truly appreciate the help they have given us. read more

I've had the most horrible experience and has spend hours upon hours trying to get my billing resolved. The learning fountain is not in network with my insurance and they explained they can apply to be temporarily "in-network" and insurance will cover the charges other than my standard co-pay. After a few sessions, I put the brakes on and heard nothing and 6 months later received a bill threatening collections. They only received a partial payment from my insurance company and billed me for the balance. I spoke to Blue Cross and they even suggested I contact BBB because it's illegal to balance bill. The receptionist is a total bully and will railroad anyone that questions their business practice. Ironically, I spoke to a coworker and the EXACT thing happened to her at this place too! We have been happy with the services that we received from The Learning Fountain. The billing, however, has been a NIGHTMARE. Incompetent would be an understatement. I wish I could bill them for all the hours and days that I've spent trying to sort out their billing problems. We are very pleased with the progress our daughter is making since we started at the Leaning Fountain. All their therapist are very knowledgeable and very easy work with. They implement latest OT programs such us music therapy, reflexes, and Masgutova methods. We never even dreamed the progress she has already made in just an year.
