We've been part of this childcare center for four years now, and I truly can't say enough wonderful…read morethings about the experience. From the leadership to the teachers, this place has been such a blessing for our family. First, I have to give a huge thank you to Courtney, the director. Since she took over, I have always felt heard, supported, and cared for. She leads with so much heart and compassion. When my mom was going through chemo and I needed extra flexibility with my daughters' schedules, Courtney was there for us without hesitation. She always made it a point to ask how my mom was doing--it meant the world to me. And then there are the teachers, who are truly some of my favorite people. Wendy and Caitlin in the infant room gave my girls the most loving start. Their warmth and care made it so easy to drop off my babies each day knowing they were in the best hands. Ms. Mary and Ms. Jenny always greeted my girls with the biggest smiles and morning hugs--it set such a positive tone for their day. Ms. Kameryn has been a favorite from the very beginning. The way she greets the girls each morning with genuine excitement and joy makes them light up. She's fun, caring, and truly meant to do this work. We've also loved the time we've had with Ms. Carrie and Ms. Rohini--their kindness and care do not go unnoticed. Ms. McKenzie is another favorite! She always makes it a point to say hello to the girls, and it's clear she truly loves what she does. Ms. Saher is so kind and gentle--and my girls adore when she does their hair (she's the best at braids!). Ms. Suzie, who makes the meals, deserves a special mention too. She's often the first one to greet the girls with a warm hug in the morning, and they absolutely adore her. On days when drop-off has been a little rough, she's been right there with a comforting smile and a snack to help turn things around. Mr. Robert is a gem of a human. Watching him interact with kids--especially when they're having tough moments--is nothing short of amazing. He has a gift for connecting with them on their level and helping them feel seen and understood. And finally, our GSRP teachers, Ms. Theresa and Ms. Crystal, have been incredible. My oldest comes home every day excited to share what she's learned and all the fun things they did together. This entire team has made such a lasting impact on our family. The love, patience, and joy they bring to their work every single day shine through in everything they do. We're so grateful to have found a place that truly feels like an extension of our family.

The management of this daycare cares more about the money than the children. We felt helpless that…read moreour concerns cannot go anywhere b/c we're dealing with a big corporate company behind this daycare, and the director never seemed to care about our concerns. 1.Tuition increases every 6 months: Our kid stayed with this place for about 17 months, and they increased tuition 3 times already. 2. This place is following strictly to the sick policy that child must stay home for at least 48 hours! (Note that most of the other daycares and schools only require 24 hour) And they falsely claimed our child was sick many times! We've suggested the director to let the corporate consider changing the policy to 24 hours, and the director told us he wanted to be cautious so he would stay with the rule. And the director refused to bring our suggestion to his leader. We would definitely want our kid to stay home if he is not feeling good or sick, but our kid was forced to be out at least twice a month while he was completely healthy, and this place didn't consider letting us come back based on any of doctor's note or test results. Here comes the worst part - after we gave our two week notice that our kid was leaving the place, the director called us the last Monday of the week and claiming our kid had pink eye, and the rule was to be away from school for at least 24 hour. When I picked up my kid, his eyes were not swollen or not even red. I took my son to the pediatrician immediately, and of course after the examination, the doctor wrote us a note saying our kid had no problem and could return the following day because he was all fine. I'm not sure what game the management was trying to play with us to keep our kid away from school, the director just uses the sick policy at his own advantage so the school can keep the kid count low and have fewer teachers on-site. We didn't feel our kid was welcome to the place since our kid got kicked out so many times while he was completely healthy (and we still paid the full tuition amount every week). 3. Our kid got hurt at this place twice and we didn't get contacted right away: The first incident happened during his first month at this place (when our kid was only 11 month old) we noticed a big bruise on his leg (it looked like someone squeezed his leg too hard while changing diaper) We didn't get any notification about this until we realized the purple bruise when our kid got home. We asked the director about the incident and he had no clue what happened. The 2nd time our kid got a deep scratch between his eyes. This happened because one of the teachers accidentally scratched our kid's face with a broom. This scratch almost went into his eye. We learned about the incident when we picked up our kid the end of the day, not immediately after this happened, and only the teacher apologized to us. When we asked the director about this, his response was "He won't have a scar so don't worry." And he didn't apologize or explain to us what happened. We understand accidents happen, but every time when the director told us to stay away from school for 48 hours because of illness they claimed our kid had, he always called us immediately and was very vocal and firm about following the company's policy, and when our kid got hurt by the teacher, the director did not seem to care. If we didn't reach out to him, he might never speak to us about this. How can the director be so dismissive about the kids' safety but care so much about following sick policy?

We said our tearful goodbyes to 'A Growing Place' few months ago. The staff here are just wonderful. The Director & the teachers are so full of affection and warmth. Thank you for all the love and support you showered on my baby with while he was with you. When my son got enrolled to this preschool he began to learn so effortlessly. He's reading, writing, counting, telling stories and has an amazing knowledge of cultures, holidays, etc (due to the many theme weeks they have). Other touches and memories are the shows that the children put on every year (the teachers teach them songs, dance and even make them costumes). They take such trouble with fun art projects, Mothers/Father's Day cards/gifts/surprises and also on various occasions like Thanksgiving, Xmas, etc which are all hand made by the teachers and the children. And the 'Preschool Graduation' was something I'll never forget. I feel so blessed to have had my son here! He has learnt and grown so much in the last two years. A big Thank You to Ms. Korene ( the director) and the teachers & staffs..We love you! I highly recommend this Preschool... it is truly an amazing place.

This makes it so much easier on the parents! They are always working on something fun and active with the children and you can feel how much they care about their students from the second you drop them off, throughout the day receiving fun photos, to their little smiling, proud faces when you pick them up. Miss Lori, the director couldn't be a better person for this role and has made our experience so much more enjoyable than we could have imagined. They also picked up on our daughter being a bit advanced and bored in her classroom and moved her up to make sure she was receiving what she needed. Our daughter has very much thrived from this experience. We couldn't thank Franklin more!

When we were looking for a safe, engaging place for our oldest to go a few years ago, reading…read morereviews from other parents currently enrolled helped so much. Hoping this review will help someone in the same position feel confident in their choice to have their child (children) attend Montessori Academy of Farmington Hills. Our oldest has been attending Montessori Academy of Farmington Hills for three years and counting. Ms. Suman and the entire staff work tirelessly each and every day to make sure the students and their families have a good experience. They are helpful, supportive, caring and sensitive to the needs of each child. As a parent, I've watched my child grow (emotionally and physically) in his abilities and been able to witness his confidence soar. The transition (as any significant routine change can be) was tough at first (probably more on me than him :) ) as it was the first daycare/school he attended outside our home and Ms. Suman and his teachers worked closely with him (and helped me as a parent, which I'll always be grateful for) to build trust, understanding and make sure he felt secure. Now, he looks forward to drop off each morning and can't wait to see his teachers and play and learn with all of his friends, classmates and peers. The Montessori Academy of Farmington Hills has a wonderful playground for outdoor time (one of the first things you'll notice as you drive up and enter the parking lot), Ms. Suman and her staff keep it well maintained, along with the interior/exterior of the building and are always updating with the latest equipment and enhancements. They offer fieldtrips for students and lots of fun activities for holidays and special occasions, including an end of the school year program for each class. One note that's worth mentioning is that they follow the Montessori method of learning with the freedom to make choices and progress at the child's own comfort level. It's a true school environment starting at 3 years, not a daycare or childcare center (Ms. Suman and the teachers are happy to give updates and send pictures, you'll just need to ask if there's something specific you'd like to see or know more about during the day to day routine). You'll be more than pleasantly surprised with how much your child (children) will learn. If you have a child under three, they will still learn at an exceptional rate (Montessori Academy take babies 3 months and up) as well, just in a separate building with separate infant/baby/young toddler staff. My youngest is in the infant/baby room and we feel at ease knowing he is surrounded by such a wonderful, patient support system and receiving nurturing, dependable care. The teachers and staff truly are wonderful, many have been with the school for years and years. Their experience shines through (and helped accelerate our potty training journey, among many, many other milestones) and so many of them feel like an extension of our family. The tuition costs are more than fair for everything they offer, I can't imagine you can find anywhere else with such an expansive offering. Choose Montessori Academy of Farmington Hills and you'll choose really, really well!
