This is a fabulous shop and worth a visit to Boscastle just to see it! The products are beautiful, quirky and totally original. When we went in last year, we found the guy who owns the shop and designs and makes all the products (and has done so for over 20yrs) a really friendly, open and interesting person. He was passionate about his work and even explained some of the processes used to get the unique effects of colour fades and raised designs on the leather. He invented these processes himself which is why his products have such a characteristic style that you just don't see anywhere else -because no-one else is using those processes. We live in London and just occasionally see someone with one of his bags or other pieces and always know immediately that its one of his because they are just so unique and unmistakeable in style.
I notice that another Yelp user had a bad experience in this shop several years ago and can only assume that either someone else was looking after the shop for some reason at that time, or perhaps she misunderstood whatever was said to her due to a cultural or language gap! read more
