Cute little ice cream shop in the historic town of Harmony, PA. Grew up in Pittsburgh and had no idea about this historic area. This ice cream shop looks like it's part of the history but actually opened up in 2020. We ordered a chocolate peanut butter milkshake, cannoli clouds, and strawberry pretzel cloud. The ice cream is seriously good, but I would skip the popular cloud topping next time. It was extremely sweet and decadent. Past the ice cream shop is a popcorn shop with made to order toppings.
Incredible ice cream that I'll be dreaming about for weeks! Specifically made the drive north to visit because I heard so much about it here and it was completely worth it. They're known for their "Clouds", which they have multiple flavors of to choose. I ordered the cookies & cream cloud and loved it! The cloud is 3 mousse scoops on top of twisted soft serve. I was surprised by the best way at the light, airy, and flavorful taste of the mousse. It had oreo chunks throughout it, along with a full sized oreo on top. The soft serve by itself was creamy and wonderful, mixed with the cloud it was even better. They even have pup cups so our dog enjoyed a treat too! Service was fast and friendly to keep the line moving. Can't wait to come back!
After living in the vicinity for the last 5 years it was high time we made it over to Neff House. Tonight my wife and I tried a signature melty and cloud. Service was very quick and the portions were generous and flavorful. The outdoor patio was clean and a nice place to sit and visit with friends. I can definitely understand why this place is so popular and how it doesn't take us another 5 years to come back!
From its setting in beautiful Harmony PA to its fantastic desserts, Neff Haus is unique in every way. I've never had an ice cream dessert quite like their Cloud concoction. It is absolutely fantastic!! I am not even sure how they make the cloud topping or what it is, but yikes, it is sooooo good. I can't recommend this place more! Just go! It is worth the trip!
Delicious ice cream it is always busy but line moves fast. I had the vanilla soft serve in a waffle cone my husband had the apple pie with vanilla. It is definitely a must try
The French toast cloud is just...magical!!! My one-year-old daughter kept fighting me for bites. We are just so happy to keep making return trips to our favorite place!
4.5 stars. Neff Haus Ice Cream Shop is located in a restored house that was built for the Harmonist Neff family in 1807. Its menu lists many flavors of clouds (which contain pieces of cake and soft serve), cookie doughs, ice-cream cones, sorbets, milkshakes, floats, sundaes, boba ice creams, refresher drinks, and more. I visited Neff Haus one time. I asked the employee to recommend a menu item, and surprisingly he recommended the seasonal Apple-pie Melty rather than a cloud. The Apple-pie Melty cost several dollars, and payment could be made with credit cards, cash, and Apple and Google Pay. A cup contained warm apple pie topped with vanilla soft-serve ice cream, and it tasted very good. In the future, I will have to try a cloud. Some small tables and chairs were available on a cobblestone patio that had colorful lights lit up in the evening, and a bridge had fairies in trees. Neff Haus's website says that it offers ghost and lantern tours.
First time coming, so I had to get the most popular thing: the Strawberry Pretzel Cheesecake Cloud! It is pretty unique, with the scoops on top being kind of a fluffy pudding, wish it had more cheesecake flavor but pretty unique! Strawberry sauce could be a bit more, but loved it with the layer of pretzels and ice cream at the bottom. I think the clouds are fun, very very sweet, and a good thing to try at least once! Will definitely come back to try their seasonal things and famous cookie dough melty, but it's definitely a sweetness overload and a once in a while treat.
After discovering Neff Haus two years ago, it has become one of my favorite spots for ice cream in the greater Pittsburgh area. For most, it will probably be a slight drive, but it is 100% worth the trip. Personally, if I did not live close to an hour from here, I would probably be visiting multiple times a week. The shop is located in historic Harmony, PA, in a building with a lot of charm. It is right as you pull into the downtown area. There is a parking lot across the street, which is only a few steps from the business. Neff Haus has tables and benches in the rear for patrons to enjoy their ice cream. Additionally, there are nice lights and other garden decorations near the seating area to take in and enjoy. The shop, along with the entire area of Harmony, are quaint and inviting. The concept is simple, an ice cream shop. But, with unique and rotating specialty items that involve ice cream. They are known for their "clouds," which I would believe are some sort of cream cheese-type concoction that is a topper for their ice creams. Sort of like a sundae, but very unique. The Clouds have some permanent flavors that are always on the menu, but there are different kinds that rotate in and out on what seems like a daily basis. They have a variety of other offerings, but this is their "signature item," if you will. Over time, I have tried a lot of their menu, and have not really had anything I did not love. Some of my personal favorites have been The Maria, Nighttime Brownie Batter Cookie Dough, Pumpkin Pie Cloud, S'mores Cloud, Gigantic Buckeye, and the Pie Dough with Apple Pie Filling. Though, usually when I go I am trying one of their limited-time offerings in the Cloud. Additionally, they offer pup cups and are dog-friendly. We love bringing our dog to enjoy some ice cream and hang out! For the product they offer, the prices are very reasonable. All of the ice cream offerings are huge, and are extremely filling. Two people could easily share a Cloud, or any of the specialty offerings. The value is unbeatable, in my opinion. Truly, any excuse we can find to make a trip to Neff Haus, we do. I never really have had to wait in a long line, and the staff is ALWAYS friendly, kind, and fast. As I said, this is one of my favorite shops in the entire area, and I wish it was closer to me!
Easy parking across the street. Long line but moved very quickly. Very nice sitting area behind. I had the Cloud Almond Tort which was absolutely amazing. So very light with great flavor. Wife has the Strawberry Pretzel Cloud. It was good but we both liked the Almond Tort. She said we wouldn't drive out of our way for hers but we definitely would for mine.

~ I had heard lots of good things about this place, and have been wanting to try it out. Yesterday, we were traveling on I-79, and we had already had our dinner, so I asked my wife if she wanted to stop, and she said yes, so we got off the highway, and a few minutes later we made it to Historic Harmony Pennsylvania, home of THE Legendary Neff House (Built in 1807 (Remodeled recently after being purchased in 2019 (and turned into an ice cream shop))). My wife is Gluten-free, and she enjoyed a Chocolate and Vanilla twist in a bowl. I had one of the famous "Cloud" creations in the flavor of Key Lime Pie .... Mmmmmmm . . . Sooooo Gooooood !!!! To quote the sign, "Feels like a vacation," and it did actually taste like I was on vacation!! YUM!!! WE WILL BE BACK . . . Cheers!
All I can say - OMG! We have been talking about going here since u first heard about Neff Haus ... and today we decided to drive from the south hills of PGH to finally try for ourselves! It did not disappoint! I had the Bestie and my nice had the strawberry pretzel salad- both were delicious! We even went to the popcorn place affiliated with them -- u have to look for the Popkins review next! There is a small parking lot across the street - which I am sure gets busy at night ( we went when they first opened). Next time... pineapple Sophia!!! read more
If you have a sweet tooth this is the spot to try! The menu has multiple different flavors for different options including their famous cloud, cookie dough ice creams, Melty cookie doughs, and other cold treats! We only got to try the melty this time but definitely want to come back to try more flavors and the cloud. It's a cute brick shop with limited space for potential lines. We went early in the day so there wasn't too much of a wait but I hear it gets very busy- and I can see why! Their treats are so unique and I've never had anything like it! The cookie dough ice cream is essentially ice cream with your choice of cookie dough scooped right on top. The Melty, which is what we tried, is your flavor choice but warmed and melty at the bottom of the cup with the ice cream on top. There is some seating in the back as well but not a ton so grab a spot if you see one! The Apple pie melty my husband got was delicious. Warm Apple pie filling with yummy vanilla ice cream on top and a nice layer of pie crust at the bottom that helped off set the sweetness of everything else. I got the two in one version of a melty that they offer which is their nighttime brownie batter and peanut butter cookie dough all warm and gooey at the bottom with vanilla ice cream piled on top. Although both were very delicious they are also both very decadent. Splitting one if you don't have the biggest sweet tooth is a good idea for how rich and plentiful it is. We will be back! read more

Neff Haus has been on the list for quite some time. I've seen so many reels and had so many recommendations. Glad I finally made it. We went with some friends on a Tuesday night so it wasn't too busy. Neff Haus has no indoor seating but has a nice back patio with seating. The menu is extensive and it was so hard to choose what to order. We went with an apple pie melty and I got a burnt almond tort cloud. Both were good and unique, especially the cloud, but the ice cream itself wasn't the best I've had. I'm not entirely sure what the "cloud" is made of but it was like a fluffy cake batter and it was really good paired with the ice cream! The melty was also delicious, though the pie crust was a little hard and therefore a little difficult to eat. Overall a great experience and will likely be back again :) read more

This is more than an ice cream shop; this is a destination. I live in the South Hills so this is a solid 45-minute drive for me, but well worth it. I was here last year for the first time and haven't stopped raving about it. Made a recent trip to Zelienople for another restaurant and was super disappointed this hadn't opened for the season yet at the time. So happy to finally have some time free to go back! First let's talk about the historic village of Harmony, a settlement established in 1804. Neff Haus is right in the middle of the historic district and it's fun to walk around the area and read the plaques about the history. You can scan a code and learn more about the connection to George Washington and the French and Indian War. The Harmony Museum is right on this street as well and great architecture including a beautiful church and restored log cabin. After you're done exploring, it's time to get down to business and get in line at the ice cream window. If it's a nice day and peak time, you will have a little wait, but the staff here really keeps it moving! They are famous for their creamy soft serve, and it would be delicious on its own, but you are here for something unique. That's why you should absolutely go for one of their cloud toppings, which are like fluffy balls of cake and come in many standard and rotating varieties atop your soft serve, or the heavenly cookie dough, which there are also many varieties. The cookie dough is a whole ball of cookie dough on top of your ice cream. Amazing, and I've never had anything like either of these anywhere else. Absolutely take your ice cream to eat in their outdoor garden which is beautiful. At night it comes alive with lights and there is a plaque talking about the legend of the fairies here, whom you can spot in the trees overhead, where there is a little walking trail over a bridge. I also noticed there is a new-looking popcorn shop behind the ice cream shop. I had my dogs along so did not feel like it would be OK to go in, since they didn't appear to have an outside window like the ice cream. I love to see small businesses thrive, so hope people will give that one a try, too! read more

First time here and we will be returning. There were so many ice cream flavors I wanted to try them all. I got the bestie and my husband got the nutter butter (not the name of it). Parking was questionable but not their fault for where the location is. Very cute siting area towards the back of the ice cream shop. The person who took our order was very sweet and personable and helped with selecting our ice cream. read more

I don't know what their cloud is that they serve over their vanilla soft served but it's amazing. The vanilla soft serve isn't anything special in itself, just a good soft serve but that cloud... Essentially it's a homemade whipped cream and whatever flavor option you want it's flavored to that. I got the almond torte and it had chunks of almond torte cake in it, flavored like it throughout and almonds on top. Spectacular. They have plenty of other options, head over to their IG to check them out. They also have another speciality which is a big scoop of their cookie dough on top of the ice cream. Unfortunately didn't get to try that but will defo be getting next time The area itself was very sedating. It's an old brick building (like most of them there) with a welcoming back area, with scenic trees, rock pathways, that tables and another shop in the back that s speciality popcorn The girl helping us complimented my girlfriend and I's "matching bags." A very unique spot that I appreciate for the location. The cookies and cream cloud is unlike anything I have tasted before. I recommend sharing with someone as it's pretty heavy. The ice cream itself is not my favorite soft serve but you come here for the cookie dough or cloud toppings! The cookie dough was also good but I preferred the cloud. read more
Two words: HOLY. COW. I'll start off by saying that their menu is a little hard to understand, but all you need to know is that they have soft serve in the basic plus other seasonal flavors, and they are known for their "cloud" soft serve creations. A cloud is essentially an [insert flavor] cake that is crumbled, put into scoops, and served on their signature vanilla soft serve. I was so overwhelmed by the menu that I opted for a plain-and-simple vanilla soft serve on a Joy cone. My partner had the tiramisu cloud and WOW. The tiramisu scoops were to die for, and they went perfectly with the soft serve. The cloud portions are massive, so I would seek to go halfsies with someone. Overall, good quality stuff, friendly staff, and great outdoor space. There's no indoor seating (or restroom), so all you have is a patio out back with various 2-4 chair tables. Oh, and they also have a sister shop that sells popcorn behind the ice cream shop. read more
We decided to try Nee Haus on a hit and humid summer day. We seemed to time it perfectly as only one person was in line before us when we arrived. I've been seeing their Facebook posts and thought we need to try this place. It's located in Harmony and has a parking lot across the street. They had several specials the day we went. I opted for the peanut butter cookie dough ice cream. It was soft serve with a big scoop of cookie dough planted on top. It was good, but I felt that it needed broken up and stirred to mix. My daughter also tried a cookie dough. My wife on the other hand opted for cookie down and brownie batter heated with soft serve on top. That was a better way to have it. The shop has a nice seating area in the rear that provided shade from the blazing sun. There seemed to be a popcorn shop in the back of the property too. After several additional visits here over the last year, I can't justify anything under 5 stars. They've grown their menu substantially and while I still don't prefer the basic soft serve ice cream with the flavor "streaks," everything else hits home. In particular, they have these "cloud" cups which consist of a mousse like topping with cake mixed in, sitting on top of ice cream. In particular, the banana with strawberry drizzle was one of the most delicious dessert items I've had at an ice cream shop in a lonnnnggg time. The staff is always very pleasant and their prices are downright cheap for the serving sizes. If you go around back they have a shaded patio area to sit as well. read more

This is a little gem nestled in Harmony. Here you will find the most unique soft serve flavors and combinations. If you need a scoop of COOKIE DOUGH on top of your soft serve, this is your place. If you'd rather have a gigantic chocolate peanut butter buckeye on top, that's an option too. I visited during the week, so service was quick and there was no line. The outdoor patio was cute and filled with flowers...it's located next to a bike trail too! I love it here and I can't wait to come back. read more
