The only reason I was in town was to visit friends that lived in the neighborhood. On the way to my…read morefriends address we passed this strip mall that seem new. I noticed the Wine Market and decided to stop and check out the store. To my surprise, this sizable store had everything you can imagine in wine, and alcohol bottles. They even had a brand bourbon that I have not seen NY liquor store shelfs. I quite impressed. The staff was also quite knowledgeable about their inventory. I have been a wine collector for many years and their knowledge of their business was notable.

Literally a museum of overpriced wine and spirits along with expired beer. From awful customer…read moreservice (the owner David finds it funny to belittle customers and employees in the middle of the store), the employees sit obliviously typing away on their phones and computers while customers search the cavernous subpar and sparse inventory of terrible industrial complex produced wine. Prices- literally 30% higher than the four stores you can choose up and down Oxford Rd. Selection- went in to buy a local beer from less than 2 miles away, owner told me their beer is crap and doesn't sell, go find it somewhere else because he won't carry it. (The brewery is literally one of the 20 best breweries in America)... unfortunate. Atmosphere- dirty, dusty and poorly stocked. I feel bad for anyone giving their hard earned money to this buisness. Support better humans, you deserve better than Wine Market.

Really good liquor store - the people who work there are super helpful. I'm by no means a beer snob…read more- far from it, actually...but I'm finally learning that there is more to the world of beer than the god awful cheap fizzy piss type brews my ex's friends would guzzle at their vomit rager parties, and that *gasp* I'm learning to like it. They have a really good selection of beer (and cider, which is more of my thing). Every time I go in there I find something new to try. I wish they'd carry Brooklyn Brewery 6 packs (I saw 12's, and they do sell bottles individually in the create your own 6 packs) BUT if I get a hankering craving for Brooklyn Summer, Stop and Shop next door has it. (Also of note, their beer selection is probably the best I've seen for Stop and Shop - perhaps they've stepped it up because of this place? Who knows) The wine selection is also pretty decent - although as long as you carry Naked Grape moscato, I'm a happy camper (Which they do, obviously.) Overall, they don't seem to be any cheaper or more expensive than the other places around here either. They're close to my apartment (and I seem to be at the grocery store an awful lot) so they're my liquor store of choice.

I found some hard to find Italian liqueurs on a shelf, with a price a few dollars less than the 'discount' liquor store in my neighborhood. I don't know much about beer, but they seemed to have a lot of different brands. Overall, the prices are average - a dollar or two more or less than other liquor outlets. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The store is clean, without a lot of stock piled on the floor or in aisles. While not really worth it for me to drive here when I need a bottle of something, it's great if I'm in the area and need to restock my cabinet. I will be back!
