The shop has a surprisingly large stash of nice wines -- we didn't examine them in detail, saving that for our next visit -- and spirits that include products from Litchfield Distillery as well as some uncommon bottles of bourbon and gin that some larger shops in larger cities don't seem to stock. We were impressed. The shop also carries a number of distinctive cheeses, although when we were there it was a few weeks before "cheese season" gets underway. The space is very clean and attractive, and the owner offered welcome good advice about purchases. Bottom line: We liked very much what we saw but will have to return later to be able to offer a more detailed review.

I d passingly asked her for a different size bottle of a Chateau St. Michel and instead of offering guidance she started talking down to me about the cost and which type I would be purchasing. She was just nasty and she knows it. I will never return to this place again nor will I allow anyone to purchase anything from here for me. There are too many places to purchase wine, bring your money elsewhere.

They also have a great selection of hard liquors, with many not found in other stores in the area. I managed to find a few more bottles to add to my purchase as I explored, and the nice lady at the register was friendly and helpful when I asked about a brand I didn't see (she knew exactly where it was - right down to the number of spaces from the end of the shelf!) The best is they open at 9am, which means I can stop by on my way home from the gym if I need something, instead of planning a separate trip out when the other stores open at 10am. Recently, I went in one evening to buy a beer and was met with scoffing upon entering. When I asked why, he indignantly told me he "can't be liable," but gave no clear explanation. He repeated this statement several times while huffing and puffing. During the exchange, he also made a comment about "other drunks coming in here," which was insulting and unfounded -- I am not an alcoholic. Toward the end of the interaction, he implied that I should "not come back in more than once." This was particularly upsetting because I have shopped here regularly without issue. His dismissive attitude and repeated claims of liability felt unjustified and discriminatory.
