Great Medical Facility…read more My nephew went in for a visit and I was beyond pleased with our experience at IMS. The entire staff at IMS Primary Care are professional, caring, and go beyond what was expected. My nephew was cared for prior, during, and after his procedure. The admin staff and nursing staff exceeds all standards. Thank you for everything.

Unfortunately, that's when my experience went downhill. They rarely answer the phone, and that same issue seems to carry over to the specialists they refer patients to. I was referred for a sleep study, but no one ever answered the phone to schedule it. I left multiple voicemails and never received a call back. Later, I noticed an insurance claim for a sleep study diagnostic that I never had. I called the sleep office with no answer, so I contacted my primary care office. They told me they would look into it and get back to me, but I never heard anything. My blood work also showed some abnormalities, so I was referred to an endocrinologist. I was told to wait for them to call me to schedule an appointment. Weeks went by with no call, so I followed up. I was told it was strange and that they would send the office a message and have someone contact me. It's now been over a month, and I still haven't heard from anyone. I'm done with this office. I made the decision to take my health more seriously, and instead of feeling supported, I felt ignored and dismissed. It shouldn't be this difficult to get the care you need.

From the moment he walked into the room, it was like we had a contagious disease. He filled out the physical forms standing by the door and was ready to leave. I had to tell him there was more we needed to discuss. He was absolutely absent from what we were saying and from us in general. He said he would be right back and a little later the nurse comes in. I asked "Where's the doctor" and she said she thought he was finished with us. I told her we were still talking to him and that my son wanted to talk to him alone. I left to the waiting room. I went back in and Dr Curvin still wasn't there. He enters the room so I left back to the waiting room. My son comes out 5 minutes later. I asked what happened and he said he told the doctor something and the Dr stated, "Is that it? " So he left. My son told me that he thought the Dr just didn't like him. That ticked me off!!! NEVER will I take my son to this doctor again! He's horrible and should not be working with children. If he was like this with us, I'm positive he's been like this with many!!!

They made diagnostic errors in my husband's record that took 3 months to correct. No one knows why my phone number is wrong in the portal. They keep saying it's corrected but it isn't. They keep calling the wrong phone #. What a disorganized mess! I don't know what it was like before it changed from CTCA to City of Hope but it is terrible now. I was in the medical field for 25 years. I know a mismanaged disaster when I see one...steer clear!

I visited this location on Thursday, June 4, for my annual checkup. The office is very spacious,…read moreclean, and well-maintained. The staff was friendly and professional throughout my visit. One area that could be improved is communication regarding appointment delays. I waited over 30 minutes before being called back for my appointment, and once I was in the exam room, I waited an additional 15 minutes before seeing my doctor. While my overall experience was positive, I was disappointed that the visit took significantly longer than expected. It would be helpful if the front desk staff informed patients when appointments are running behind schedule. I had to approach the desk myself to ask about the delay. Additionally, while I understand that staff members may need to communicate with one another, there were several personal conversations taking place at the front desk that could easily be heard in the waiting area. Another suggestion would be to better communicate laboratory and bloodwork hours. Patients should be informed in advance that bloodwork and lab services must be completed before approximately 3:15-3:40 p.m. Depending on appointment times, some patients may have to return on another day to complete their lab work. It would be more convenient if lab hours matched the office's operating hours, or if patients were notified ahead of time so they can schedule accordingly. Overall, my visit was good, and I appreciate the cleanliness of the facility and the friendliness of the staff. With a few improvements in communication and scheduling, the patient experience could be even better.
