While it doesn't appear to be open it does look like they are restoring it and you can wander around the grounds or outside. There is a cool statue out front of the longest serving Sheriff in Texas: Sheriff Riddle. He was Burnet's Sheriff from 1939 to 1978. Wow! That's impressive. The old jail closed in 1982 so I guess he may have wore it out! I look forward to visiting again when the inside opens up.

They were funny , efficient , kind and more importantly then anything they treated me like a human being . Two suites down the hall I could hear someone complaining about their experience to either a host or another person staying rather loudly, but I must have wonderful hearing because I seemed to be the only person to notice it? Oddest thing about my stay, by far. Anywho, the total bill for my stay came up to around $3000 which is reasonable considering how most things cost an arm and a leg these days. I would recommend this if you missed out on your hotel reservation for a convention or something similar, otherwise not the best experience. I would have rated it higher but they made me give back the cool orange sweater they gave me that I thought was a souvenir.
