It's not been very long since my original review, but I thought it was worth an update: Mo is also bomb. So, in summary, Mo and Anthony are excellent. How many people work here? Are they all amazing? Likely, based off of my experiences thus far. Honestly I've never had such a consistently simple and smooth experience. Mo motioned for my son to sit down. He put the cape around him. I have been going to this place for a while now and stopped going when I decided to grow my hair out. Today I decided to cut it all off and was very specific with Marco, the guy who cut my hair. I got a great haircut. Very well done. It's not what I asked for at all. Not even close. I told him in the middle of it that it was too short and instead of owning it - he got argumentative. After clarifying that I told him no shorter than an inch on the side, he started apologizing for misunderstanding. Then I told him I pull my hair back and part it very slightly to my left side. I've been struggling to find a good barber that does a good fade for the last year, I had an appointment with Rob and he had me in and out in 20 minutes, and did a great fade. Haircut was a bit short (shorter than my guy wanted) and the neck edge and fade could've been a bit sharper. As in, the fade was okay but not amazing. He was a super cool guy and had great conversation with him as well. Came in for a haircut and sat down in the waiting area. There were no other customers there, and the barbers just let me sit there for 15 minutes. No "hi," no "can I help you," etc. I wasn't rude or antagonistic, tried to communicate with them, etc. - so, not sure why a business would not help a customer just wanting a haircut. Perhaps there was an attitude issue on their end but one never knows. So, I just got up and left and went somewhere else that same day! Easy fix. In conclusion, I would not recommend The Local Barber and Shop due to poor customer service. I don't know about the quality of their barbers since I never got one, however, there are cheaper and more customer service-oriented barbers in the area. read more

Having to come to your boyfriends hair cut and sitting for an hour isn't ideal, but music, conversation and atmosphere is nice. They squeezed my boyfriend in to get a hair cut, offered him a complimentary beer and water, and chatted with me to make me feel included in the experience. Even though this is an all guy joint, they are understanding and respectful to girls being at their place while waiting for their significant other to get a hair cut. Went to another shop on a Sunday and the barber yelled "oops" during my cut. ‍ when I asked what happened he informed me he took a chunk out of the back and totally butchered my cut. Even after trying to fix it, the top was funky and the sides weren't blended well. I waited a week and then popped in here.
