Due to new technology the car must be connected to a special computer to create a new key. The dealership wanted an absurd amount of money to program a spare key for me. While he was working on my key we had a pleasant conversation and I found him to be just a normal nice guy. He even explained the intricacies of my car's security system and gave me tips to save money in the future is I ever get a third key. His equipment was impressive. He used a mini CNC machine to create my new key and then used a specialized computer to connect to my car's OBDII system. The car didn't cooperate at first but he had an even more advanced computer that got the job done. As a technician myself I was impressed that he had modern suite of tools right there in his van to complete this rather unique job. He was done in about 15 minutes so overall it took about 45 minutes from the time I dialed his number until I had my new spare key in my hand. His fee was very fair, especially considering I never had to leave my house. It was definitely better than the hundreds of dollars that the local dealership wanted and I didn't have to use any gas or fight the daytime traffic to get to their awful location. The most unprofessional person I've ever meet. My father had is license taken because medically he was having issues. we explained this to The Lock Doctor and showed paperwork probing it but he refused to not make a key for this man to get in the road and endanger the lives if every person he meet. When we asked to speak to a supervisor etc, he just said I'm my own boss and I do what I want. He continued to laugh in our faces and was only worried about the money he was going to make stating wasn't his problem if he gets on the road but he was going to make a key for him. He was gracious enough to come to my house on a Saturday and laser cut a key for 2015 Chevrolet Equinox without the original that was lost. He used only the vin number. Damn miracle worker!!
