My stylist Maddie had never encountered eczema before, and handled it like I was a leper in biblical times. She was hostile with me before she even discovered this, didn't say hello and when she finally acknowledged me and I stood to shake her hand, she offered the tips of her left hand (a binder was in her right hand- such a hassle to switch that to the left and behave). Finding the salon and parking are both easy. When you walk through the door, the space is warm, open, and inviting. All around comfortable. The right side is a quarter of an inch shorter than the left. The blend is horrific. She told me she'd fix it but that meant she would have to keep cutting it shorter. And unless you are getting a bad cut repaired from a previous stylist, you shouldn't have to verbalize the need to "fix it". When I put my glasses on, the right side sticks straight out because it's so short! This was the OWNER! I would have been better off going to Great Clips. Please, if you the owner is reading this, never cut curly hair dry. It's basic science that is taught in Cosmetology School. How can you adjust for the shrinking of curls if you don't care how the hair curls? She told me she always cuts curly hair dry. Stay away especially if your hair is curly. All I can do is wait for it to grow out and go see a professional. By the way, I did graduate from cosmetology many years ago even though I'm not currently licensed, I was licensed at one point and I know how a proper stylist should go about cutting hair. She supposedly has another shop in Oklahoma. I wouldn't dip my foot in there, either. I'm at least thankful my hair grows fast. Again. Beware. At least she didn't charge me. And for those of you that think I should have said something, I did from the time she started until I had enough and jumped out of the chair. She kept trying to justify what she was doing, but she couldn't. I forgot to mention, she cut between the curl because she had no concept of where it curled so now even on the longer side it sticks straight out. I'm sooo angry. And finding him was an elaborate work of art, in and of itself! I complimented a woman with beautiful hair at the grocery store, who was an aesthetician, then we exchanged numbers, and when I needed a new referral, she contacted multiple hair stylist friends of hers, in a giant game of lily pads, hopping across & through multiple professional business contacts, finally leading me to discover Jack. I couldn't be happier, or more grateful, for Jack! Not only are his cuts extremely specific and precise, demonstrating his proper training, he is also a wonderful human being, with whom I enjoy conversation. Highly recommend! I visited Arrow in Englewood for a root touchup, and my experience was very disappointing. While I didn't mind the trainee's help, it quickly became apparent that she was doing most of my hair--she handled half the root touch-up, the toning, washing, and half the blow-dry while Connie juggled another client at the same time next to me. I wasn't sure who was really in charge of my appointment. The biggest issue came at checkout when I was surprised with an additional $71 charge for a blow-dry. I had no prior explanation of this fee, and when I asked about it, I was told I could've left with wet hair if I didn't want the blow-dry. This charge seemed unreasonable, especially after already paying $125 for the root touchup. ($125 for a root touch up with no blow dry?!?!) The lack of transparency was very annoying. The staff tried to upsell me throughout my visit--suggesting brow services and conditioning treatments. While I understand they want to offer additional services, it felt a bit pushy and made the experience feel more like a cheap salon rather than a professional setting. While the color itself was decent, I'd recommend making sure you ask about all fees and services upfront if you decide to go. It seems like communication and transparency could be improved.

She pulled the hair back with one hand and used the scissors in the other and the cut. That was it. I said could I would like the face framing layers done and my bangs trimmed also. She turned me away from the mirror and made a whack on each side I told her my bangs at the eyebrow curving down at the side. She sprayed water and made one cut straight across. She then fluffed them with the blow dryer and that was it. 5 minutes at the most. She went to ring it up and I told her I wanted to pay for my nephew who was still deciding about what haircut he wanted. She rang up 2 haircuts at 52.00 I put on a $10 dollar tip. Then it asked for another tip so I said I wanted to leave 10. Total tip for both cuts. She redid it and I put my card in to pay. The receipt wasn't legible. I found the total charge was $64. actually the minimum tip you can leave if you use a debit card is $6 per haircut. If you want a fast cut Ally is it. It was my worst haircut ever. It looked chopped and I had to recut the bangs because so much of what was cut before was missed. If you don't want to leave more than 20% tip take cash.
