At 14 & 21, wig shopping was something new to both of them. We were welcomed so warmly and Diana was amazing. She cared so deeply for both girls and helped to find the perfect wigs for each of them. Her prices are incredible and her caring 1:1 attention could not be beat. After visiting a different wig store earlier in the day (and feeling like we were being hawked wigs) this was refreshing. She wasn't about the sale- and that was appreciated. We ended up buying a wig for each girl and the boost in self esteem for young cancer patients was palpable. Thank you, Diana, for your care, generosity and time. We cannot recommend her enough!!

The store owner acknowledged that I was there and asked how she could help me. I responded that I would like some help and information about the products and services. I left the store after that was said and I will not be going back.

She found what we were told was a dyable wig for $795. The color is far too dark for her, so she made the purchase based on their statement that it could be lightened. Jesse, the woman who sold the wig, said the wig could be dyed there or by a stylist. My friend has curly hair, and finding a wig for her has been a challenge. It turns out that the wig could not be dyed by a stylist. So we brought it back requesting a refund (and yes, I understand that they have a sign that says no refunds or exchanges; however, this was a purchase made on a false promise). My friend agreed to let them try to color it there for a very expensive price. The colorist did dye a small portion but then texted to say that while she was able to lighten that section, she would not dye the whole wig because she was afraid of the curl loosening. She glibly wrote that the wig was dried up front, waiting for pick up. We went to the store, but the manager was not there. The woman who sold the wig lied about what she told us. The conversation got heated, and we agreed to come back when the manager was there. We returned to the store last Saturday and met with the manager, Anna. She said she would make an exception and exchange the wig. Unfortunately, there were no other options in the inventory. My friend agreed that she would let them dye the whole wig, risking the curl. That's when they said they would not dye it because she was "too picky." "Too picky" because she chose a wig that she was told was dyable, and now they would not dye it? That makes zero sense. Then, the manager switched it to her being "harsh" in her requests. She was dismissive and clearly did not care about how she treated a customer. She refused to provide a refund. We left with the unwearable wig, $795, and made multiple trips to the store in hopes of finding a workable solution. They rudely refused. The manager and employees are deceitful, saying whatever will get them the sale, lying, switching stories, and giving customers the run-around. I am disgusted by the way they conduct business, especially as they are selling to people who really need an honest option and help. Please save yourself time, money, and energy, and do not purchase from them. In reading other reviews, we are not the only ones who they have taken advantage of. It's a shame this store is still in business. We have been to multiple other shops that are honest about their products, at Kim's Wig Botik - buyer beware. I am sickened at how they treated my friend--as if she was not going through enough. If this review keeps others from shopping there, then taking the time to share will be beneficial.

Fast forward to the next day and we went in to Kim's with a very discouraged 13 year-old who has already been through so much with this disease. Anna and Jessie were there, they put one wig on my daughter, a Daniel Alain Follea Rene, (which we were very familiar with after doing our own research) and my daughters face lit up! SHE SMILED!! We purchased the wig, and then they walked her through how to put on and remove it, went through products we would need to care for it and how to maintain it's beauty. I couldn't have wished for a better experience for a very frustrated teenager. Anna even hugged me before we left! 5 stars, all the way!

Through the tenuous cancer journey I had always said to my self , at least I have my hair. Well ..... after Chemo...I lost my hair. I didn't want to wear one of those department store wigs that cut off your circulation and hurt so badly or show my bald head to my friends and neighbors but I was at a loss. I only found wig stores on the internet which brought fears of fishing through draws looking for the right look. Ugh. When your dealing mentally and physically with cancer, who has time for that bunk? My daughter found Jennifer on the internet and told me she had Rave reviews. I made an appointment and I'm blessed to have found Strands and Jennifer. I walked in with a ball cap on my head and left with a wig that looked like my hair color and hair style. Jennifer made me comfortable with her caring, informative and kind words. I started feeling this was a solutions place..... not just empty promises. She knows how we cancer people feel, she is an expert on matching hair needs with what is available in the Natural hair market. Natural hair...... not flammable material. Fantastic. Jennifer supplied me with the right styling information and the supplies I needed to look and feel great in my new hair. Every issue was discussed and with the price of the wig , I was given all the items ( wig stand, invisible tape so it won't slip and shampoo and conditioner to wash the wig) to be successful on my journey. Jennifer has fantastic people skills, follow up, and she is knowledgeable about wigs and styling. She has become one of the people I thank God for when I go to sleep. Thank you Jennifer for helping me through this road bump on my cancer journey.

They are kind and compassionate and walked me through the process every step of the way, to include contacting my doctor for the prescription and completing the insurance paperwork. Jennifer begins with a private session in a quaint home off the main thoroughfares, yet easily accessible. If you're concerned about privacy you'll have no worries here. To begin the session, she immediately puts you at ease with her gentle and caring manner and shares helpful information that she has learned in her 30+ years of providing medical wig services; all of which proved highly valuable to me. She provides a thorough description of human vs synthetic wigs, shares examples of her work, and truly hears and addresses your concerns and desires. Should you purchase a wig, she provides you with a custom fit, color, and style of your choice. Once your wig has arrived, you'll have another private session for the fitting. For me, this was the most important step of the process; for many cancer patients, losing your hair is the most traumatic part of the treatment process. Jennifer was able to minimize my anxiety and the trauma of losing my hair through her kind and empathetic manner. She also provides everything you need for proper wear and care. My wig was such a perfect match, several people commented that I was lucky I wasn't losing my hair. Jennifer understands that she is not just a stylist, she is an important part of your support system. She walks beside you through your cancer journey and will be there for you every step of the way and beyond. The relationship you develop with her is more than just a stylist/customer relationship, it is truly a friendship.
