I want to be able to connect to the priest that will help guide me as well as the rest of the Catholic Community into living a better life. I want a priest that would guide rather than reprimand or make you feel like a horrible person therefore leading to feeling uncomfortable and being pushed away. I've come to different mass times and have always felt welcome and at ease. All their priests have been very helpful and explain the lecture well enough for me to understand. Being a newbie a few years ago to Azusa, I wasn't sure how the community at this church would be but they all have been very welcoming and Wilson and I have even made a few new friends here. You tend to see the same people at the same spot at the same time on the same day but its nice to get to know them and even call them by name. The youth group as well as other groups in the church are active and has different activities through out the year. In all the masses' we've attended, even on the holly days, we've never had any trouble finding a place to sit. Parking is a bit difficult and crowded on the church grounds so we recommend parking at APU. The mass times are: Saturday 5:00PM English 6:30PM Spanish Sunday 7:00 am Spanish 9:00 am English 11:00 am English 1:00 pm Spanish 5:00 pm English Weekdays 8:30 am English 5:15 pm Spanish (Mo,Tu,Th, Fr) English (Wed) (1st Friday of the month) 7:30 pm Spanish

My cousin was getting married in October 2019 here and her fiancé is not catholic but Christian based as well as well as caucasian and does not understand or speak Spanish. So they made my cousin ( Latina) jump through all these hoops and had all these demands as well as demanding they know what kind of music they orchestra would play and if they had ever performed during a catholic ceremony etc. Which I contentedly understand, it's the house of God, it's should be respected. So we had the band rehearse songs that the church specifically asked ( Responsorial Psalm). No problem, done! She asked and met with the priest and they decided on a bilingual ceremony since her fiancé didn't speak Spanish. Fast forward to the day of the wedding. 1. The priest was a no show... no excuse, no explanation from anyone, nothing 2. Not one microphone was on 3. A visiting priest from mexico showed up in sandals super late and had absolutely no idea what was happening or maybe he had never performed a wedding before. It was a disaster 4. The priest didn't speak a lick of English and kept asking the groom questions ‍ The whole family was horrified. The band was completely caught off guard and didn't know when to play since the priest seemed to be wining it in his own way 5. So pretty much the priest made him repeat sounds and words during the vows. So something that was supposed to be beautiful and traditional, the reason she chose for a catholic ceremony was completely a joke at this point. My poor aunts who attend the that church left crying and so upset, while the non Catholics asked us if that's how all Catholics ceremonies are. This is one of the biggest reasons the younger generations are leaving the church, if the priests don't even care, why should anyone else. Ive never been so embarrassed in my life

Beyond crushed my spirit when my ex husband sent me a picture of our 6 year old being baptized by…read morethe 2 pastors who knew that my ex and I are not on good terms. They either don't see or don't care that he continues to manipulate and abuse (like this). To be clear, I pay to send my kids to a Baptist school and I would have never kept my ex from being there to see our kids get baptized. He would & enjoyed telling me about it after the fact! He literally gets off on the argument & getting one over on me. It is hard to put into words when you are being gaslit and attacked for years. There is nothing I could ever do right & he used scripture to tell me to "submit my body" to him whenever he wanted or needed. I believe the leaders of this church have "machismo" issues and it is handed down to the men in their congregation. Pastor Tony married us, did not give marriage counseling when asked and now continues to support the abuser by allowing him to do whatever he wants, when he wants. Baptizing our son without me there!

I've met some great people here, gone on a retreat and just some quiet time in front of the Blessed Sacrament. My former Regional Vocations Director is the Pastor of the parish. I'm grateful and blessed to have had him preside in our marriage Mass to my beautiful wife as well as baptize our babies at the parish. There is a lot of groups at the parish if you want to get involved. After Mass there's usually one of the groups selling food. They added benches so you can sit and enjoy the Sunday sun after Mass. also they recently added a fountain with St John the Baptist and our Lady with little benches.

If you're coming here for the first time, you may miss the entrance, so pay close attention when visiting. The Good Friday service was good for the most part. The Deacon was mostly doing the service, with Fr. also there as well. The overall service was good, but it was a little performative for me. I get because it was Holy Week, they know there would be more visitors, and it helps with the gift basket, so maybe that's what it was. But overall good service. The interior of the church is probably the most interesting piece about OLOGC. With very tall ceilings, elegant lamps, and beautiful wooden pews - it really makes this church a nice place to visit.

That is the last time I will offer help in this church. They are also racist. I cannot forget the time I donated $6,000.00 and I never got a ticket to an event while their friends who did not donate as much were prioritized. And they have cliques. Before the mass starts, they are talking about their vacations and everything making it hard to pray. That is why we sometimes go to mass at St. Jude. And their PA system is so bad I couldn't understand the homilies, While every church has a projector, they have decided to buy books which cost a lot of money for the church.
