I've had a bunch of tree work done over the years, and what I have come to learn is there are a lot of different ways to tackle the problem of removing trees and branches. My experience has ranged from a single guy with ropes and a chainsaw, to a dozen men with heavy equipment deployed by a general-like figure barking orders and managing the job. The one redeeming part of my experience with The Lumberjacks was that they were able to get my large dead tree removed relatively quickly in the midst of a global pandemic. Originally it was going to take several weeks for them to arrive. But when I asked if there was any way to expedite the process, I was told "yes" if I was willing to pay a rush charge of $50. On a job that was going to cost over a grand, that was the bargain of the decade. The Lumberjacks brought a three person crew along with a lift that looked a little bit like a tank. We walked around the property to talk about other work I wanted done beyond the tree removal, and was quoted a price on the spot. I agreed, and the crew spent the rest of the day cutting wood. After they were done, I asked to be walked around to inspect the work. What I didn't see at the time was the damage that was caused to my property. I spoke to someone at my insurance company. They told me to call the tree trimmers. After calling The Lumberjacks to discuss the matter, I was unceremoniously directed to some fine print on the bottom of the estimate that said the company was not responsible for damages, or some such. Well, that just sucks. Now, by solving the problem of the dead tree, I have another problem to solve. And we're still in the midst of a global pandemic, which just makes everything harder. This was not the kind of experience that would encourage me to call The Lumberjacks again if I need additional tree work, nor would it give me the confidence to recommend them to others. I'm sure they work on lots of houses without doing damage. I'm sure mine was a rare fluke. And ultimately, it's less about the damage itself than it was about how this unfortunate situation was handled. read more

I called every day for 5 days and never received a return call. I spent my money with a company that wanted to work and returned my call.

The Lumberjacks delivered two truckloads of mulch for me this week. I ordered the first load online Saturday night - they delivered it on Monday morning at 9:30 a.m.! It was a beautiful, dark brown colored mulch. The neighbors next store liked it so much that they ordered a load of the same mulch for Friday delivery. I finished the first 12 yards of mulch - way underestimated the amount of mulch I'd need. I went back online last night at 8:00 p.m. and ordered another 10 yards. It arrived by 9:00 a.m. today - delivered by the co-owner himself. Nice guy - couldn't have asked for better service. Will definitely call them the next time I need mulch. read more

The Lumberjacks removed three trees for me recently (including the stumps), one of which must have been a real piece of work due to its gigantic sharp thorns. I don't even want to think about all the work that must have gone into that one. Anyway, they did a great job at what I thought was a good price. They were also very patient with me in getting the job scheduled, as there were multiple delays on my end in preparing the site for them to work. I had a good experience with The Lumberjacks. I left a message that I needed a dead tree removed ASAP as I was about to list my house. John promptly gave me a quote after I sent them a picture via email. Initially the appointment was two weeks out, which is understandable as it's the busy summer months, but once I explained I was needing it done ASAP because of listing my house they said they could see what they could do for me. The next day I got a call from John who said there was a crew in my area, and they would be able to come by today. The crew arrived on time, completed the work promptly, and were very professional. There was a bad storm in early march 2018 and I left messages for SEVEN services on Friday night regarding a big fallen branch on our residential power line. Nobody called on the weekend, but Lumberjacks called first thing on Monday morning. None of the others ever called at all that week! (However, a fanatical and daring neighbor took down the branch over the weekend so I never got to see Lumberjack in action, but I am their fan forever.) read more

WOW! What an incredible transformation! We had trees cut down and cut back on three sides of our home. We thought it would take a full week to cut everything up, rip up old roots, shred the wood and perform dozens of 3+ story trims - but The Lumberjacks completed everything AND cleaned up in 3.5 hours! I was planning on going outside afterward with a leaf blower to clean up, but they took care of EVERYTHING! Also, I was not able to find better prices anywhere. I appreciate your apology, but what about my review is not accurate? You didn't tell me the after season discount would be 6 months away and I had to email you several times to find this out. Your 'substantial' discount was $100 off a $1800 bill. Your own email said you were rude after we called you. If you have to beg a company to take your money, use another company. read more

Lumberjacks came out to do an estimate on some tree work in December, 2017. We accepted their estimate immediately. Work was to be done within 5 weeks, or sooner if they were in the area per Lumberjacks. That was three months ago. They came this week to try to do the job and the ground was too soft. I decided to cancel them, but then tried to negotiate some way for them to do the job. They then said the estimate might be different if they had to bring plywood to bring the heavy equipment on, would let me know. I got an email this am from them declining to do the job at all. Quite a predicament they have left us in. This was a job that needed too be done in the winter when the ground was frozen as it is on the back of our property. They have left me with no way to get the work done until next winter. I am fuming. read more

Just asked for a referral, an employee showed up without warning came to backdoor, banged loudly and yelled into the house. I had a sleeping baby and was on the phone. I let him know to wait until I was off the phone. He left and began wandering around mine and my neighbor's yard without permission. When I brought up the issue of not letting us know he was coming and yelling in the house, he non chalantly said, "sorry," without looking at me, then continued to wander around. Lumberjacks was the 5th tree service company to come out and give me an estimate on removal of our 60 ft Maple. They were the most professional(emailed quote 24hrs after requested quote) and confident tree service. The price was comparable to other tree service companies but I was impressed with how quick they answered my questions as well as scheduling the removal to when I was available. The day of removal the guys were over by 8:45am and by 11:30am tree was gone and my front & back yard were cleared with no tire marks or debris in sight. Had a tree that needed to be removed as it was to close to the house and deck. Called five other tree services and only Lumberjacks actually showed up to do a quote. The gentleman who came out was very thorough and walked the whole property to see if we had any other tree issues which I thought was great. The quote was less then I expected so I accepted. He explained that they would give me a day notice before they would come do the job which they did. The guys who came out were very professional and explained how they were going to proceed. Work was done in a very timely and proficient manner. Clean up was great and overall it was as good of experience as you could expect. I'm actually glad the other tree service never followed up. They removed six 30 ft pine trees, ground the stumps and moved the debris in about 2 hours. Very nice professional service. Only complaint is that they could have called or confirmed they were coming-- they only said "next week" and showed up on Monday at 3. Glad I was home. read more
