So I will start with the receptionist she don't know how to smile or greet maybe a norm for her but felt rude. My appointment was set for 7:30 and I was there before 5 minutes however Joseph called me at 7:50. What a waste of time This place was clean so they deserve one star Speaking of Joseph Sarno he is extremely aggressive man. He was super nice to the guy who was sitting before me but when I sat no conversation no smile and felt very arrogant He cut my hair in less than 15 minutes and I had Signature cut which includes eucalyptus infused hot towel which he never cared of While cutting my hair he was busy in talking with others watching game and checking his phone. At one point when he said "purpose" he ducking rain showered me with his saliva (pretty rude) and worst part is he didn't even recognized that. He was pulling and pushing my head like a ball game for him In the middle of hair cut he was asking his boss for pay maybe he is not getting paid on time so he was disappointed I would recommend to go any place in the world other than here. The past reviews didn't disappoint. Been 2 years since my last haircut (my hair dangling well past my shoulders), and I wanted something different. Looked into the hairstyle that I wanted, brought in a photo, and called in to schedule an appointment for 3 hrs later on a Monday afternoon. I figured it would be dead since it was 4:30 on a Monday, but all the barbers seemed to be occupied with customers (a good thing). Very clean and tasteful atmosphere, definitely got a city vibe to it. Comfy lounge fit with phone chargers of all sorts, flat screen tv, and a water fountain was a nice touch. I like the plethora of price options, you know what you are getting when you pay, whether it be a touch up, shave, buzz cut OR buzz and hair cut. Didn't wait for my appointment to start, and didn't request a particular barber. They set me up with uncle Ramon. I showed him the picture of style I wanted (today's trend of an undercut), we worked together on the alterations to suit my face/skull shape, and got to work. Started off with cutting off a good 10 inches of hair (no going back), then got a shampoo and conditioning. I was asked if I had a particular preference on the length i wanted left, and with me not having popped my haircut cherry in a while, I let Ramon take the lead. Great place across the board. Clean, stylish, comfortable, friendly staff. Flat screen TV's and great sound system that plays good music. Top notch. The stylists are fantastic too. Award winning stylists. Too much to say on here. It's a really great place that i suggest you try. I tried once and never went anywhere since. My stylist is Jimmy the barber. I always hated crappy haircuts and I'm glad i found a spot that can cut long, short hair in a variety of ways that look amazing. A full cut is $25 and well worth every penny. Traveling from Cali to NY/NJ every month makes it hard to get in for a cut sometimes. I'm super particular about my hair and was trying to hold out until I flew back home. Did some research, read the reviews and decided to put my fate in Man Mades hands. Walked in, was greeted and seated by Sal, one internal sign of the cross (by me) later he began cutting. All I can say is I think I'll now be waiting until I fly back out to NJ for any future cuts! Beginning to end, Sal was more particular about my hair than I was. No detail was spared and every movement had a reason. I've gotten compliments on my hair before but this cut had more heads turning and brought more smiles than usual. I heard a lot of good things about this shop, I made an appointment for my son, he got there 5 minutes before and didn't get called till 40 minutes later. After showing Nelvin a picture and explaining what he wanted because he has very curly hair Nelvin's reply was "Ok I got you". My son walked out of there almost bald. This was my first time at this barber shop and expected it to be like a regular barber shop, but i was wrong. I had my haircut with Luigi and he did a damn good job at it. He is the owners father and was just filling in for couple of barbers who were on vacation. He was friendly and didn't rush to get me out of there quickly. He took his time and made sure the haircut looked good. I was happy with his work. Though i liked the haircut and service, i was surprised at the pricing. It would have been better if they had pricing either on their website or in the shop. I would have been prepared for it. It cost me double than it usually costs me at a barber shop. It's expensive for me since I've to get a haircut every 2-3 weeks. I'd still like to return for a haircut with Luigi, maybe once in 2-3 haircuts. read more

Had one of the worst cuts of my life at another shop. I called Mad Man Barbershop right after and Gianfranco was able to salvage what was left of my hair. You can tell by the way he was teaching one of the apprentices that he really knew his trade well. Highly recommend. I don't live in town anymore but will be back soon. read more

As a males when it comes to getting great skilled haircuts we often resign ourselves to seeking services at a hole in-the-wall shop or some cheap chain. Let's face it the fact: Central New Jersey does not have the skilled barbershops that NYC does. Or at least that was my presumption until I got my haircut at The Made Man Barber Shop. First outside the shop there was ample free street parking. The outside of the shop looks fresh and contemporary ( I may want my hair to look like my grandfather's but I don't want the shop to look like it was my grandfather's local barbershop). Inside is bright and there was plenty lounge chairs in the waiting room. I was greeted by Jimmy, the barber I had an appointment with at the shop. I was guided to his station, which was immaculate in appearance and did not present with signs of customers of past that you are used to seeing in barber shops:a concoction of locks of hair, follicles, and talcum powder. Jimmy listened to what I wanted and offered some suggestions. He was skilled and as I sat in the chair I observed the other barbers skillfully working on customer's hairs. Though there were about 4-5 barbers on the day I went the attention was on the customers and kept intra-dialogue between themselves to a minimum. This made me, the customer, feel important and prioritized. Though the shop is not down the street for me, it was however, well worth the trip for me and I wouldn't entertain the notion of going to a chop shop. Go here if you appreciate: skilled experience barbers, looking fresh and contemporary, outstanding customer service. Finally, I learned Barber Jimmy recently went into NYC and through a non-profit organization that provides services for the homeless helped 30 homeless people get a haircut. Truly amazing to find a barber that contributes to improving the quality of life for those less fortunate. read more

Never having tried a "styled" look before, consistently committing to a half all around and a 6 on top, I was hesitant to venture out of my comfort zone. Set an appointment with Jon who with this 10 years of barber experience and artist's background, took one glimpse at the style I was looking to achieve and he hit the nail on the head from every angle. I am satisfied, giving a rating of 11 on a scale of 10. He was very meticulous, and because of his work I am committed to revisiting this barber at this shop time and time again. This place seriously impressed me. I brought my nephew here for a haircut while he was visiting from Michigan. Initially, the experience was disappointing. The female barber who did the haircut rushed through it and didn't bother to style his hair. I was annoyed given what I was paying but he didn't want me to say anything. Gianfranco overheard us discussing this and quickly apologized and redid the haircut. My nephew LOVED the new haircut and left feeling great. Gianfranco also gave us a gift card to make up for us having to wait. My nephew asked me to use the gift card to get his dad a makeover and, after some prodding, we convinced him to take a chance. My brother basically looked like he was fresh out of the wild. Sal did a fantastic job of cleaning up his beard and styling his hair. He walked out looking about 5 years younger and ten pounds lighter. I actually caught him checking himself out in my passenger mirror multiple times on the drive home. Now, my nephew and brother are arguing over who has the better haircut. I was so happy to find a place that clearly stands by their work and does a fantastic job. read more

I am selective with my barbershops and drove over 30 minutes to this location after a lackluster experience at a competitor. Luis was ready when I arrived to the appointment and took time in understanding what I was looking for. We discussed my expectations as far as services were concerned and he got right to it. I normally get my beard and haircut done at the same time. I definitely look forward to returning in order to get my beard taken care of next week and I was very pleased in hearing that they use 2 hot towels followed by a cold towel during the shave. First off, I am an older man who had a scraggly beard and unkept hair due to the enjoyment of recent retirement but I had to groom up for a wedding. I looked at several spots but this one kept my interest so I called to make an appointment. When I walked in I felt a bit out of place because of the younger men and the topics they were talking about but then my barber, Ramon, came and introduced himself and made me feel welcomed. I told him what I was looking for and he asked a few questions then he got started. Long story short, between the great conversations, a few laughs, soothing lotions, hot towels, cream applied with a brush, a cold towel, his attention to detail I was impressed! You would think a place with such nice ambiance would know how to treat and value customers and you would think they would properly clean and sanitize their tools before every use but jokes on you. Briefly, I had an experience that was unsatisfying, and the owner Gianfranco totally took ownership for the mistake, and even went as far as offer a refund as a gesture of goodwill to set things right. That one incident aside, I've had two haircuts (latest one today) with my man Bryan, and he took solid care of me. Bryan knows his stuff, made it a point to remember certain nuances about my hair from last time, and left me looking like a million bucks. Bryan is definitely my regular barber moving forward.
