The place is gorgeous. Thought I was on Fifth Avenue in nyc! My stylist was nice enough I guess. No smile when she greeted me. She seemed quite competent but not personable and you ask why that matters? Well as a senior citizen and having grown my Hair down to my booty, it was kind of a big deal to me to have it cut it off up to my shoulders. But I guess her caring was my expectation, not hers. I also wanted to get a pedicure but that easy money sitting right there in the salon was not even considered because I didn't have an appointment which is not good business practice cause a customer in the hand is worth two in the...you get it. Did I tip her? Certainly! Was it memorable? Yeah but not in any good kind of way. So if you want to get a haircut without a shampoo, just a spray of a water bottle and with a somewhat uninterested stylist for $30 plus a tip then Madison's is the way to go! I had the best experience with The Madison. I was coming in from out of town for a wedding and needed hair and makeup for me and my sister- I did call around a few places to no avail- until I called The Madison. Amy took my call and went through the details of time, place etc- I was thrilled when she told me she could travel to the resort I was staying at since it was 30 minutes away from the shop. I highly recommend Amy - she did a wonderful job- our hair and make up turned out beautiful! She was even flexible in adding on my aunt for both hair and make up. We were all very happy with the results. Getting your hair and make up done by someone you are not familiar with can be very scary but our experience with Amy was great!!!!!!!!!
