No matter what time of day the staff are consistently polite,efficient and friendly. The coffee is always fresh as is the food. The washroom has been recently renovated and is always clean. It is a great place to meet up with a friend or a large group of friends. In my opinion the owner of this lovely place is doing everything right. It was exactly the insult I politely asked her not to use just minutes before. I felt so angry, hurt and humiliated. And she waited until AFTER I had paid my bill to insult me so I would have had to fight to get my cash back (didn't use credit, no record online, could have fought over the cash receipt). She said she did this "to everyone", but she hadn't done it to the man right in front of me! Then she claimed she had a right to talk to me that way because she didn't know everyone's names, and then she went silent when I said "YES, but you DO know my name". I was going to give her a 25% (large) tip (usually I give a cash tip after I get my order) but I gave zero tip and also am giving this lower than average rating because of how she treated me. Usually I give service this bad one star, but this place gets three stars because the food is good (prepared I believe by someone else other than the counter person). Also, I have hundreds of colleagues and associates, and many of us drive that road often, so when they ask for a suggestion, I won't recount my bad experience at Clifford Snack Shack, I will just tell them to go to the Pizza Place next door or the Cedar Rail in Harriston.
