Hey kids... would you like your mail lost or stolen? Then, the Wood River branch of the United…read moreStates Postal Office is for you! I just spoke with Shannon, who is the supervisor, about a missing "delayed" package that was sent to me for Easter. It was shipped out of their location, yet, no scans are officially listed as leaving their facility. She went from saying that the first scan shown, besides when it was accepted on the 12th, was on the 14th "to next facility". Then, when I continued to ask why Wood River was not shown or scanned, backtracked and said that it was scanned and shipped out to St. Louis on the 12th, yet there was no scan in St. Louis. She wouldn't answer my questions, and instead gave me the runaround... unable to answer which facilities the packages were scanned into on the 14th and 15th. The package was not heard of again until the 24th in Memphis. She could not explain anything and just kept saying that there is a whole system and things are all sent out in one big bunch. Cool... but how did my package suddenly go from Wood River to St. Louis with no scans or tracking actually showing? Where is the accountability that the package was wrongfully handled between Wood River and St. Louis? All I could get was that she is "guessing that it was scanned in St. Louis"... WHAT??? Finally, she said that she was leaving a message for the Post Master to call me back. This is not the first time that I have had a problem with their office. I have had mail go missing quite a bit from there. When I asked her to please look into how they operate and handle their mail, she blamed the other locations and the "entire process". She also would not help in refunding my mother's money. If an accident happened, apologize and own it. Work on fixing it. The biggest sign of weak leadership is denying any responsibility and refusing to fix it. Offer solutions, not excuses. Shannon needs to go based on her inability to apologize and problem solve. The rest of the staff needs to be looked into. Seriously... bummer summer. You are an executive branch of the United States Federal Government. Do better.

Does size really matter? When it comes to moving trucks, the answer is yes…read more I recently was moving from STL to Godfrey and need a medium sized truck to move my larger furniture items. All of my boxed and smaller accent items had already been moved. To be pro-active I stopped by here to make a reservation for the truck size I needed. Before going in, I looked over a couple of trucks that were in the parking lot and I knew which one was best for me. When speaking with the young lady, I told her which one I needed in the lot and pointed to it out the door. I now realize that would be like going to a car dealership and a telling the sales professional, I'll take that one as you point out to the salesroom floor. There's a lot of grey area there and opportunities for misunderstandings. I don't fault her, she asked all the right questions. She asked if I was moving appliances and I said, no. She asked how many rooms and I told her what I had left to move was about a one bedroom apartment. She agreed, the size I selected would work. When I showed up with my cousins on the day of the move, the truck they pulled up front for me was not the size I imagined, It was much smaller. I told the young man who was assisting me that morning, that I need a much bigger one and again pointed to the one I wanted on the lot. Lucky for me, he had one available and easily made the switch. My cousins and I got the move done in record time and we're all over the age of 60. So I was surprised that I received a price adjustment on my rental by returning the truck earlier then anticipated. I was impressed that all the necessary paperwork was mostly done electronically. Which was nice, since I was doing this during the pandemic. I also bought a variety boxes in different sizes, while I prepped for this move and each time I visited I was impressed by the friendly customer service. They also took COVID precautions seriously by having tape markings on the floor to encourage social distancing and staff wearing mask. If you need a rental truck, moving supplies or a storage space in the Riverbend area, I highly recommend this place. When: October 23, 2020 Why: Fleeing the big city to small town life.
