My friends and I hosted a baby shower for one of our friends at The Manor. It was a wonderful experience. The venue is stunning, with elegant decor, beautiful landscape, and a picturesque pond (perfect for photos!) The interior is just as lovely, with plenty of space to accommodate the 100 guests we had. The food was delicious, with a Mediterranean-inspired menu that was a hit with our guests. The servers were friendly, the coordinator was attentive to the needs of the celebrants. We appreciated that there was a good amount of parking on site, and the suites were clean and comfortable, with everything we needed to freshen up. The manager was helpful in providing us with 2 carts to use temporarily, and answered our questions promptly. Overall, I would recommend The Manor for any event (wedding, baby shower, etc). Very scenic for weddings and with ample parking spaces. But here's what I don't like. The venue placed two wedding ceremony too close to each other. Since our group was second, we had to wait until the first group finished their ceremony. Didn't do sound check before ceremony began, causing additional delays. And the only loudspeaker was pointing into the lake, away from the group. Half the group could barely hear the speeches. Food for the reception was great but could use more portions. Main course and dessert came out slow because there were two dinners happening simultaneously in the building. read more

The Manor, operated by Peter and Paul's, is the banquet facility at Carrying Place Golf & Country Club, near King City, Ontario. I've attended two weddings here in the past, over twenty years ago, but I don't recall Peter & Paul's involved in those events. Maybe different ownership back then? This time around, however, it's hard to miss their involvement. Their logo is plastered on every door, at eye level, and almost every employee uniform. You can't miss it. It's actually partially blocking your view of what's on the other side of the door. Now, there's nothing wrong with branding but this looked overdone. Every glass door, and there are many, had their logo on it. Events should be about the event, not the venue. That's just my opinion. On this occasion, I was attending the wedding of some friends' son and his lovely bride. I also had the privilege of attending the rehearsal a few days prior. I was hoping to get a better idea of the big day's proceedings so I could effectively take better pictures. Unfortunately, the rehearsal date changed at the last minute and things didn't go as well as I had hoped. The actual ceremony site was being used by another event and they didn't have another site prepared for us. It was a bit awkward but we got through it. On the big day, the weather was perfect and the venue was lovely. The ceremony took place on the lower terrace, with the guests under a large canopy, and the bridal party in the sunlight on the edge of a large pond. Beautiful! Immediately after the ceremony, we were ushered back upstairs to the reception area and banquet room because there was another wedding ceremony scheduled right after in the same space, with their reception taking place in the lower banquet room. The reception area, in front of the bar, was a bit cramped for the number of guests but we all made it work. The passed hors d'oeuvres looked tasty but I didn't get a chance to try any of it because I was busy trying to take pictures, a request from the groom's parents, some dear friends of mine. The dinner, the main purpose of this review, was okay but could have been better. The first course, Lobster Bisque, was poured at the table, French style. I'm allergic to lobster so I had what tasted like a Roasted Red Pepper soup. It was very tasty but a tad on the salty side. My dining companions said their soup was also a bit salty. The second course, a salad, was very attractively presented. It was dressed with what tasted like a sesame dressing and accompanied by a deep fried crab claw. I suspect the crab claws were provided by the hosts, not the venue. This course was perhaps my favourite of the evening. The main course featured Steak, Chicken Breast, Potatoes, and Veggies. First impressions? It was salty! Very salty! My table mates said the same thing and some couldn't finish their meal because of this. The steak was tender but tasted like it had been sitting for a while. The veggies were the best part of this dish! Dessert was a trio, featuring a Tart, Chocolate Mousse, and Creme Brulee. They were all a bit on the sweet side but I managed to finish the creme brulee and most of the mousse. There was also a late night station, featuring do-it-yourself regular and sweet potato fries, pulled pork, melted and grated cheese, gravy, and a variety of toppings. I tried a little of everything. Despite the pork being a little salty and the fries being soggy, this wasn't bad. Overall, the wedding was lovely! The venue was beautiful, the banquet servers and bartenders were very good, friendly and efficient. The event staff were constantly communicating with the wedding coordinator, a friend who sat next to me. I even noticed a distinguished gentleman, wearing a tux, sweeping the floor. A supervisor, perhaps? Kudos for doing whatever was necessary! If the communication for the rehearsal, and the food at the wedding was better, my rating would have been higher. That's too bad because everything else was good, very good! Disclosure: I worked on the banquet side at one of the top wedding venues and golf courses in the GTA for over ten years, ending in 2016. I've been here a few times for weddings and large family get-togethers and special occasions, and though renovated, it doesn't seem like it's changed very much in terms of decor over the last couple of decades. I was here most recently in the fall for my cousin's wedding reception of 250-300 people. One of the areas downstairs was reserved, the banquet hall for the dinner, dancing, speeches, etc., with doors that lead to the outdoor terrace/patio area for photos, the cocktail hour, and appetizers prior to dinner. There was an oyster bar and vodka shot station set up outside, as well as the open bar, appetizers were passed around, and later at night, this was an area for those who needed fresh air, smokers, and a midnight live BBQ and crab legs. For dinner, there was an appetizer, choice of meat or vegetarian main course, and dessert, plus water and wine at the table, the wedding cake, fruit, and late-night specialty coffees and more desserts, with live cannoli preparation. I found the chicken breast really dry, my steak overcooked to medium-well/well and wine reduction was too salty, and the crème brûlée was cold, but much of this is to be expected with the volume they had to prepare within a short time frame, and often typical of wedding reception food. I was stuffed either way with everything else that was served, so no real complaints here. Tons of guests, tons of food, and service was quick and accommodating. The dancefloor seemed quite small, considering the size of the hall, but again, there were so many people, and most of us were the dancing type :) Overall a great night! read more

This place is a standard, cookie cutter banquet hall for weddings. It's pretty, but it's also over an hour outside Toronto, and most of your guests, unless you are all from Newmarket, will have to travel far to get there. The nearest hotel is a thirty minute cab ride, so options for that are pretty limited as well. I thought staff here were great, the bartender (only one at a time, but rotated who it was behind bar) was always fast and friendly. Some logistics of the food on the table; the salad was served family style but only was given to one half of the table, so the other half never saw it. It would have been nice to have a menu on the table so we knew what we were eating. This could be a comment on the venue, or the couple, not sure. Coat check was on a different floor than the room we were in, so that was a bit unhelpful if you wanted to grab something from your coat. I don't like when the bar is outside the room with the dance floor, either, I think it breaks the party up and makes people less likely to dance. Food was edible, but nothing special. If you're looking for a pretty standard wedding venue, this might be a good choice. I think location really docks a lot of points from me. read more

This was a beautiful spot for a wedding: pond, gazebo, waterfall... just really nice. The wedding was outdoors and the reception was inside. One of the bartenders was the friendliest, most excitable person I'd ever met. He was fantastic, quick and made a ton of jokes. The space inside was also quite nice. Our only issue was that we were right at the door to the kitchen and we could hear everyone inside talking, to the point where it was hard to listen to the speeches. At one point, a guy yelled "EVERYONE, SHUTUP!" which worked for about 2 minutes. Food was average and service was fine. read more

I attended a wedding at the Manor, realizing later that I had my prom there as well. The venue is quite large. The outside is very picturesque with a large pond, gazebo, and waterfall. It is well suited for a summer wedding. The reception is held inside, where they have a number of fairly large banquet halls comfortably seating a few hundred guests. The staff are attentive and professional. The dance floor in the banquet hall seemed a little too small. By my guess, it could accommodate only 20% of the guest. This left me confined to a limited area always being careful not to step on people's feet. Another pet peeve was the noise from events in neighboring halls coming through to ours during the quiet moments like during speeches. read more

This morning my family and I attended the Sunday Brunch at the Manor by Peter and Paul's. I truly love coming here as the drive up to Kettleby is beautiful and the grounds are so well manicured you truly feel like a somebody when you pull up. The main hall you walk into for brunch is massive and overlooks the large man made pond on the grounds and the golf course. Wide windows let in not only the scenery BUT also the days sunlight. Prepare yourself when you walk in however because the buffet is truly something to behold What a spread! 1. Antipasto table with an array of grilled veggies, sea food, salads, cold cuts, cheeses and more 2. Breakfast table with freshly made mini Belgian waffles, pancakes, an French toast. Also has all your traditional breakfast staples in abundance (bacon, sausage, hash browns) but the x factor here is the made to order omelet bar. 3. Meat table had a pulled pork baked pie, roast beef carving station, tandoori chicken, rice, roast potato and a made to order pasta station. 4. Last but not least is the famous dessert table which you first hit up for some freshly squeezed Orange juice upon arrival. After your meal (or mid way through of that's how you roll) there is a selection and pastries, cookies, cakes and pies that would send even a healthy person into a diabetic coma. Not being a huge dessert person I tend to lean towards the milk chocolate foundation and fresh fruit. Wonderful! Food, scenery and sophisticated ambiance aside my favorite part of brunch is the roaming accordion player who moves from table to table playing a seemingly limitless selection of tunes to ear or by memory. He's a sweet old gent who has a twinkle in his eye and and a warm smile and with a wink makes you feel like family. For $29.99 a person i am more than Happy to make this place my 100th Yelp Review. Well deserved and highly recommend it as one of best hidden brunch spots in the GTA or other. read more

I was continuously praising The Manor during our planning process with regards to how responsive and detailed everyone was. With no surprise, even on our Wedding Day, the service SURPASSED our expectations: the level of organization, attentiveness and professionalism (from coordinators to bar tenders to servers) - all our guests were super impressed. We went here for a wedding reception and the place is very nice. Beautiful pond, nice fountains overall great place. The food that we had was ok, eggs, waffles, beef, chicken were ok. The halls are very large, good service. I wish there was an elevator as walking up the stairs in high heels was hard but the views made up for it. read more

Truthfully, this was just another banquet hall style place for me. I went for a wedding last night and I thought the food was of very good quality. My whole family went here for a big Sunday brunch celebration on Mother's Day and we had a great experience. There was a wonderful spread with many stations of food being prepared fresh in front of you. For $40 each there was lots to eat: Seafood, pastas, salmon and prime rib, antipasto, fresh waffles and omelettes, and a room filled with delicious desserts. I think The Manor did a great job of staggering the start time of guests so there wasn't a big rush all at once. That being said, it was nice being part of the first group in and getting first dibs on everything! The only disappointing thing about the food was that after I discovered something I loved, such as the vegetable lasagna, and decided I needed one more taste of it, when I got to it a new dish had been put out and it was not nearly as yummy as the first. It tasted like it was made completely differently and lacked the quality of the first one. Besides this detail, we were all very happy with the variety that was offered and we really enjoyed trying a little bit of everything - or maybe a lot of everything. Too much actually. All the staff were very friendly and they all made a point to wish us all a happy Mother's Day - something it seemed they were all instructed to do. A nice little included extra was a photographer taking pictures of the guests and their families and all the mothers received a copy to take home. This was a nice memory to have of the day and something I could tell everyone loved. Overall, the Manor put on a fabulous brunch with beautiful scenery and welcoming atmosphere. In reading the previous review I've got to say that this isn't the perception I have after attending a Wedding at the Manor in February. The wedding we attended was an Portuguese/ Canadian wedding and even the European guests (myself included) at our table found the food to be in abundance. There was no butter on the table but our server explained that they typically set out olive oil instead but they would get us some butter from the kitchen. A guest at my table was lactose intolerant and the server went out of their way to ensure that they received extra portions of the pasta in a red sauce, I found portion sizes to be very good, and our friends had a 6 course meal so no one left hungry. We actually loved the dessert we were given-a trio of three smaller desserts all very well presented. Our friends also chose to have the Seafood buffet-and I have got to say that I was surprised to read the previous reviewer found it sparse. I had at least a whole lobster, 10 mussels, crab cakes, shrimp etc. Far more then I could eat and my husband had at least that even though he went through the buffet almost an hour after I did. I found the service to be much better then I expected in a Banquet hall. I would agree that the service staff looked young, mostly University or College students I would guess but they were incredibly professional. I found the 'hovering' mentioned in the previous review more so to be that the staff were attentive to our needs. Our server even made a point of introducing himself at the beginning of the meal and asking if there were any allergy concerns at the tables. We live in the South end of Vaughan and so gave ourselves some time to get there, but we didn't honestly find the drive that bad. It was snowing a bit but the roads were clear and it was right off of Hwy 400. The setting is very nice, I imagine in the summer it would be even nicer. Came here for a fundraiser and really liked the venue. Great views outside the windows of the banquet hall with excellent staff. Food want too over the top but still had excellent presentation. All in all seems like a great venue for big parties and weddings. read more

I was here for my company's Christmas party last Saturday and I had an awesome time! The food was so good with a delicious juicy prime rib main course cooked to perfection. They had a good selection of beer and liquor and the bartender, Nik, was good at recommending what to have. Our company usually changes places every year for the party but I hope we come back here. read more

Attended a wedding here last night...the food was terrible. 200 guests, I spoke to at least 50 guests who felt the same way. How a company of this size could produce this quality of meal is beyond me. Absolutely unacceptable. ...2 times I've been here and both huge disappointments. Meat came out cold, pasta overcooked with tomatoe sauce that tasted like it came out of a Heinz can. Coming from an Italian upbringing, this was an embarrassment to my culture. I would absolutely never recommend the place to anyone!!!! And we won't even talk about one of the ladies (Lin) serving at the bar treating guests at the bar quite rudely. Harassing guests in the dining room for I'D and taking drinks away from the table insuiating they were underage drinkers was a joke. What a S..T show this was!!!!!! read more

My family treated me for Mothers Day brunch at The Manor. Our family photo was taken and given to us during our meal. Brunch was delicious with so much variety. Everything from salad to personalized omelettes to a hot station and yummy desserts. Service was friendly, prompt and non-rushed. I will have to remind my family to reserve a spot for next year. I love love love the Manor. We had our engagement party, my bridal shower and our wedding at this venue. The stag was not here, but also at another hall by Peter & Paul's. Amazing food, fantastic service and beautiful scenery! The staff had such attention to detail. They are so organized and plan every detail and ensure that decisions are made ahead of time so that you can enjoy your special day without sweating the small stuff. Special mention to Rebecca and Diane who just went above and beyond... from bringing me a comb and can of hairspray before making our grand entrance to make sure I didn't have a hair out of place, to ensuring a selection of our favourite food from the antipasto bar was waiting at the head table for us, to a ziplock bag of ice and rolled towel waiting for me at the head table to apply to my sore feet. WOW! The servers were all great including the bartenders. I received compliments all night about the staff, food and venue from my guests. People are still talking about it. Thank you to the Manor and staff for the beautiful memories that will last a lifetime! ...and as a previous reviewer complained that the food wasn't up to "Italian" standards, I too have a large Italian family, and the pasta was fantastic at all 3 events, lobster was perfection, steak was delicious, antipasto bar was above and beyond expectations and my family shared the sentiment. We had both bars inside and outside, and a martini bar, FANTASTIC SERVICE! A few of my husband's friends also came to find me to ensure we knew how happy they were with the service.
