(Now empty) oyster bar and vodka shot station
    Amanda B.

I've been here a few times for weddings and large family get-togethers and special occasions, and though renovated, it doesn't seem like it's changed very much in terms of decor over the last couple of decades. I was here most recently in the fall for my cousin's wedding reception of 250-300 people. One of the areas downstairs was reserved, the banquet hall for the dinner, dancing, speeches, etc., with doors that lead to the outdoor terrace/patio area for photos, the cocktail hour, and appetizers prior to dinner. There was an oyster bar and vodka shot station set up outside, as well as the open bar, appetizers were passed around, and later at night, this was an area for those who needed fresh air, smokers, and a midnight live BBQ and crab legs. For dinner, there was an appetizer, choice of meat or vegetarian main course, and dessert, plus water and wine at the table, the wedding cake, fruit, and late-night specialty coffees and more desserts, with live cannoli preparation. I found the chicken breast really dry, my steak overcooked to medium-well/well and wine reduction was too salty, and the crème brûlée was cold, but much of this is to be expected with the volume they had to prepare within a short time frame, and often typical of wedding reception food. I was stuffed either way with everything else that was served, so no real complaints here. Tons of guests, tons of food, and service was quick and accommodating. The dancefloor seemed quite small, considering the size of the hall, but again, there were so many people, and most of us were the dancing type :) Overall a great night!

This was a beautiful spot for a wedding: pond, gazebo, waterfall... just really nice. The wedding was outdoors and the reception was inside. One of the bartenders was the friendliest, most excitable person I'd ever met. He was fantastic, quick and made a ton of jokes. The space inside was also quite nice. Our only issue was that we were right at the door to the kitchen and we could hear everyone inside talking, to the point where it was hard to listen to the speeches. At one point, a guy yelled "EVERYONE, SHUTUP!" which worked for about 2 minutes. Food was average and service was fine.

Our friends also chose to have the Seafood buffet-and I have got to say that I was surprised to read the previous reviewer found it sparse.

I drove over here and parked at Newmarket Riverwalk Commons. It's the closest parking lot. It was busy, but I managed to nab a parking spot and walk over to this building. I didn't find Ghost Taco. The bottom level had Ground Burger Bar and the main entrance to Eventmrkt. I decided to walk up a couple of ramps to the second floor. It looked like office space and was locked. Although the sandwich board said that Eventmrkt was closed for a private eveent and there was no entry, I did the opposite. I was a tourist in this area with inaccurate information. I walked in. Eventmrkt is an event space. It looked like a wedding reception was about to happen. Two women were there. I started off apologizing. I said that I was looking for Ghost Taco and couldn't find it. One of the women who came over was extremely helpful and nice. She pointed at the bridge that you could easily see from this venue's window. She let me know that I could walk across the bridge and hang a right. The business is there. She also gave me some inside history. She said that Ghost Taco used to be where we were standing. However, the business found a new location on Main Street, so it's there now. I thanked her for steering me in the right direction and wished her a good evening. She reciprocated. So, I kind of crashed a wedding that hadn't started. I am glad that the woman was understanding about my dropping by when the sign clearly said that it was a private event. Yes, I made it to Ghost Taco. Unless I'm here for a private event in the future, I'll stay away from Eventmrkt. (197)

The hotel has a lounge, restaurant and a rooftop to hang out and eat/drink at. There are also a lot of options on main street just out from the hotel. The hotel use to be a post office, originally built-in 1914, and they incorporated that nicely into little touches inside the hotel. When you walk in you are in the lobby/restaurant area. The front desk is right there. During my whole stay I received great customer service. I surprisingly arrived on their grand opening day. They had a soft launch open two months previous. For being a new hotel my stay went smoothly. If you walk in from main street you are on the second floor. There is a parking lot/garage on the first floor. It seems that this option is the only accessible option since the second floor/main street entrance has stairs leading to the door. I stayed on the third floor - room 305 to be exact. I looked out onto main street. The elevators on each floor have their own room, so to my knowledge there are no hotel rooms next to a noisey elevator. The door leading to the hotel rooms is a heavy door and slightly loud though. My room was away from the elevator room door so it didn't bother me. One thing I love about this hotel is they used thick doors and the walls were thick and made well. I didn't have a problem hearing any hotel neighbors. I did hear noise from the street below, usually from the nightlife, but it never lasted too late. I do sleep with a white noise app so that helped. My room was done very well. I loved the decor and ambiance. It was high quality. It took me a minute to figure out the blinds haha, but I was very happy with it. My favorite part was the bed and pillows - it was so comfortable. Usually hotel pillows (even high end hotels) aren't that great in my opinion because they sink or her squished easily, but the Postmark hotels are the perfectly confortable. I slept super well here. Last note - they have a water station on the second floor down the hallway of the rooms. They supply pitchers and ice buckets. I loved having pitchers of water for my stay. I would definitely stay here again!

From walking into the lobby, the left side was for the bridal party to take their pictures. Free to the guests to take pictures after the ceremony as well. Gorgeous, I wish I had a better camera on my phone to capture the realness of it all. Right beside the garden was another garden where the ceremony was held. It was so beautiful, green and fresh, lots of lighting and just truly a sight. Take a good look at where the reception was held. The venue held the wedding event so perfectly.
