This is a very luxurious Hyatt property located inside the Maçka Palas in Nişantaşı. The building…read moreis gorgeous and was built in 1922 by Italian architect Giulio Mongeri on the former site of a Sultan's palace. The architecture is Milanese style and originally part of the nearby Italian Embassy before opening as a luxury hotel in 2008 after a long restoration. It's located a few blocks from a huge and beautiful park, in the most luxury shopping area of Istanbul, with lots of high-end shops like Gucci and Hermès nearby. But what I really like about the area is it also has many cool little indie shops, ice cream parlors, fruit stands and fun neighborhood coffee shops nearby as well, so it has a fun local character as well. The crowd in the surrounding neighborhood is young, upscale, hip and diverse. After waking around Nişantaşı (where the hotel is located), one of my local friends said to me, "Now you know what rich Istanbul is like." :D The staff make this hotel absolutely incredible and Ibrahim at the front desk is great. Also, Leyla Kiper with guest services is exceptional. She was so wonderful when she greeted me at reception and is funny and caring. Leyla is a real asset to the hotel. Some of the hotel rooms even have their own private hammam in the bathroom with a steam shower. The beds are extremely comfortable. Rooms also feature a special faucet with filtered water. The hotel gym is exceptional and is very glitzy and high-tech. I really enjoyed using the beautifully maintained equipment. Breakfast is one of the best hotel breakfasts that I've had in Turkey with traditional Turkish dishes offered as well as fantastic pastries, and healthy juices. Basically anything you could ask for. The pool is more of a lap pool and looks pretty but it's definitely usable. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel, especially if you enjoy upscale modern luxury hotels, like high-end shopping but want to be in an area that feels affluent and local but not very touristy.

They were able to upgrade our room to a premium king suite - it did not fall short of its name! The room was spacious. The bed felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. The bathroom included a full steam room, hamam, tub, and shower. We were stocked with le labo products (the best)! Now on to the breakfast - where to begin. Everything tasted so fresh and fantastic. They have entrees to prepare for you as well as a large buffet spread. Fresh juice and coffees brought to your table! There is a lovely park just a block away that we walked through twice. If I'm ever back in Istanbul, I'm staying at the Park Hyatt.

There are Marriott hotels that are wonderful to stay at. This one in Sisli is one of them…read more My boyfriend had already checked in to this hotel a day earlier. I flew out and had a horrible experience sitting next to a nervous passenger who kept on bumping into me during the entire flight. My taxi ride from the airport to this hotel was long. It took two hours. My taxi driver apologized for the delay, as traffic seemed even worse than being in the greater Toronto area! As soon as I got out of the taxi, staff were immediately helping me get my suitcase to the front desk. When I got there, I asked the person to call my boyfriend to come downstairs. Security is fairly tight at this hotel. There is security personnel outside. The front desk asked for my passport, to make a copy of it. After all that process stuff was taken care of, we headed up the elevator. We were on the 32nd floor, which also happens to be where the executive lounge is. I basically put down my computer bag, tipped the bellhop, and headed over to the lounge. I was hungry! You get lounge access when you are a gold or platinum elite member. I was neither at the time. However, my boyfriend was a gold elite member. The lounge is cheerful, with a beautiful view of the city. The food choices were great and complimentary. Beverages are free, including alcohol. Snacks are available late at night, too. Our room was amazing. The bathroom is marble. There was a toilet and a bidet. The shower had a huge marble bench if you felt like sitting there to get a sauna effect or just relax. The closet had motion sensors that activated the lighting. Our king bed was comfortable. It was a fancy room, with a spectacular view of the city. I can't say enough about staff here. One day, I went downstairs to ask where there was an ATM. The helpful woman personally took me over to where the machine was. I just wanted instructions, but she went all out to help me out, which I appreciated. The ATM was also where the business centre was. I spent an hour one day using the Turkish keyboard (so different and difficult to get used to) to check my e-mail. You can also read there, as there is a mini library with some comfy chairs to lounge in. I loved my stay here. You get complimentary white robes and slippers. Housekeeping kept our rooms clean every day. This hotel is close to the subway, the mall, and plenty of restaurants. (51)

The restaurant was empty( literally) when it opened, however the hostess said we couldn't enter as it was all booked for a special iftar menu. At least put a sign up saying it's closed not to waste customers time! And so rude too!
