As tasty as it was unhealthy though I'd imagine from the thick rich taste, but nonetheless, amazing. The decor is great and I enjoyed sitting in for a few a people watching inside the restaurant and through the window. I really like the concept here, but reading other reviews indicates that maybe they don't use it to the full potential. I absolutely love American Diners as they take me back to my glory days in the states, so I do hope that when I come back to try the food they've made a few improvement as I would love this to become my new spot when I need my Yank-fix. Come on Infamous Diner, step up to the plate.

I popped back last week to try them out at lunch time and to see if it was as much fun as the launch night. I ordered a red pepper houmous, avocado and montaray jack cheese toasted sandwich, or 'grilled cheese' sandwich as the americans would call it. It wasn't as cheesy as I had expected, maybe my mind has been warped by that of Northern Soul Grilled Cheese, just around the corner. My friends ordered a hot dog and a burger, both of which were good. I like this place, and will be back to try their American breakfasts, but compared to so many other eateries in Manchester and in the NQ it just wasn't as great as the hype. But, still worth going!

All I wanted was chicken and waffles. I'd been reading about them a lot (okay that sounds weird --…read moreit was related to my job and not some strange, niche interest) and it brought on a huge craving. To salve this, I looked up restaurants in Leeds that might serve them -- enter Rosie's! It's good to have friends that cater to the last minute, oft-weird whims of a lady and her oral desires. (Don't be rude.) My good pal Laurie was up for the jaunt, and so we adventured across town to the Kirkstall complex that houses this joint. It's almost a fun experience. I like the bus (you can sit inside it) and I like the booths and I even like the ultra-cheesy, very-nearly-Pulp-Fiction feel of the decor. Except, once the shine has settled, you feel very much like you're in a TGIFriday type of chain. (I wasn't so keen on that.) That said, the staff were very lovely and accommodating. I loved the fries -- this sounds silly, but I really think they can be hard to master. These were every bit of your filthy, greasy-but-crispy, desire. The burger was solid. It tasted like a solid, greasy, stodgy affair, although by no means was it at Shake Shack levels of nirvana, and the like. Mac and cheese: I've had better. The chicken and waffles: so, those weren't on the menu any more. Sad! However, I asked the waitress if I could order a waffle with maple syrup to come with our mains, and good ol' L-town ordered fried chicken, and so I was able to create my own. Plan worked a treat: whilst the fried chicken was almost certainly from a packet (it did not taste/appear to be made from scratch) it absolutely scratched the itch. Chuck a couple of those b-boys on a waffle, lather it -- nay, suffocate it -- with maple syrup, and you'll get a little closer to the kind of disgraceful treats you can get across the pond. Nope, it's not authentic. But it was what I wanted! There you have it, folks. And, I'll say, of all the eateries in the complex (bar Five Guys, because BURGER HEAVEN) this one's probs tops. Enjoy!

I got mixed feelings about this place, I went with a friend of mine that she grew up in America and…read moreshe was quite specific of what she wanted to eat. So why i got mixed feelings about it? I ordered a Pug hot dog and she ordered a steak and egg. My hot dog was decent (i must say though putting the cheese between the dog and the bun was a bit weird instead of on the top) and the size was very good but my friend on the other side wasn't as lucky as me. She asked for a medium steak and got a well done with an over easy egg on top and got an over medium. The steak looked a but dehydrated and she had to ask for some lemon to give it a boost to the flavour and she made a comment as she was eating her side of corn on the cob that the corn wasn't very fresh. I'm not sure i would go back to try something else unless is FOR SCIENCE!!!!

Funny fact: the Humanities building is where the Architecture course is based (or it used to be)…read more This is funny because the Humanities building is one of the single most ugly buildings on Campus, and is now mercifully masked by the slightly-better-but-still-shit Arthur Lewis. OK, so maybe you're not amused by the fact about the Architects learning to build works of beauty in a building that looks like a concrete version of the crates veg comes in. I'm not a comedian, fer gawd's sake. I used to have film studies seminars here. Film studies was my favourite thing, and as a result I was usually early for these seminars. Once I discovered Kaffe K, I began to arrive a good half hour early, to have a coffee and do last-minute reading on secret gayness in the Lion King or the vagina dentata. Muc like the rest of the Tiki franchise round Campus, the coffee here is solidly good, and will get you through even the most boringest lecture. This cafe also does some decent panninis, but I find that once they've been in the press, you're left with a sort of anaemic, flat submarine, dripping melted cheese and tomato-water. Best to plump for a chilled sandwich or a jacket potato, then. The cakes on offer are from Wicked. Which means that although they look lush, they are basically a bit gross. But fresh fruit's only 40p, so ditch that chocolate *flavour* muffin for a nice 'nana. Quieter than Lime Cafe, and with a nice (ish) fishpond to gaze out at, this is a good place for a quick lunch or an in-between-classes caffeine pickmeup.

Much much better than Lime Café. Largely the same average food and drinks. Admittedly they do a few…read morenicer cakes, but they don't do the range of hot lunches that is offered at Lime. However, rather than feeling incredibly stressed out in a horrible, busy, sweaty canteen with rubbish and food scattered everywhere, this place is quiet and relaxed. This makes it a great place to have a proper lunch break, or even sit down and do a bit of studying. Rebecca is right about the building, it could be the ugliest in the UK, and it is home to some architecture students. However, I would like to put forward the conspiracy theory that they have deliberately and cleverly designed an exterior that repels the populace, so as to maintain the tranquillity and peace at this little café.... ....No? No, probably not. Sorry.

If you still…read moredecide to go after reading this I warn you to wear layers as even on a hot day it's freezing in there if you sit anywhere near the air conditioning. We had a look at the menu and the waitress came over to take our order. 2 diet cokes with no ice, bbq chicken wings to start, crispy chicken burger with twister fries and 4 onion rings on the side for me and a classic burger 10oz with cheese no tomato, fries and onion rings. We waited a while for our drinks when they came there was ice but the waitress just dumped them and ran off before we could say anything. We just drank them. Our chicken wings came, they were very hot but tasty & crispy. Soft drinks, tea & coffee are refillable. When our meals came my chicken was hot and crispy and fries were tasty. My partner was trying to work out how to eat his burger and he went to cut it in half to make it easier to eat. I spotted something red on his burger bun. I poked my fork in and fished out a very thin slice of tomato. He can't eat tomato due to a medical condition and itches like crazy for days after eating it. He was not happy but the waitresses were the other end of the diner. He asked the grill behind the grill to change it. I think she was just going to change the bun but he asked for s fresh one. She said it wasn't on the ticket but we had asked. I carried on. This was unacceptable to forget two things. We didn't see our original waitress again and another waitress then came over to give the new meal. When he finally tucked in he said it wasn't very nice. So he only had the chicken wings, a couple of bites of a burger and few fries. The second waitress came over to ask how his burger was and he said not nice. She apologised and said she would take it off the bill but before I could say I had an OK Rocks Club card (15% off food) she'd gone. So when she came with the bill she had to redo it to take 15% off. Left very disappointed. Used to love a cheeky burger and a pancake stack and maybe a dollar shake but will think twice before coming here!!

It started almost immediately when we came to order. We asked for another five minutes to read through the menu and after the time had passed we waited, and waited and continued to wait. Dispite trying to get the waitresses attention again and again. Eventually, just before we were about to leave, we did get seen by a different member of staff who took our food order and drinks. When the drinks arrived we had been missing milk from our tea for two so we tried to get the waitresses attention, at first we thought she would come and check to see if everything was alright and bring us the milk for our teas. She even passed us several times dealing with people on tables around us and we kept asking for her and trying to get her attention and eventually I had to go to the bar with all the staff "hanging around the bar" to ask for some milk to now add to our now lukewarm teas. When the food arrived, most the chips fell off from my daughters meal onto the table and my wife's cutlery was thrown on the floor. The waiter just said it wasn't his day and went to get a new knife while we scooped up the chips off the table to put onto her plate. On my own meal the ribs were really nice however the chicken was pink inside and not cooked properly and the plate was covered in grease. We tried to make the most of the meal but the overall attitude of the staff seemed to hang over our meal and my daughter has a disability and felt self conscious about the staff waiting at the bar looking over and talking. Although she didn't know that the conversation was about her it didn't stop her feeling like it. Overall I couldn't recommend this restaurant to anybody and it is a real shame because I believe with decent staff that cared about their customers this would have been a completely different story.
