This is my go-to spot in Alexandria. I am not baller enough to stay at the Hotel Bently but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. Actually, that isn't true. I actually stayed at the OG Holiday Inn across the street from the Hotel Bently and found this bar by happenstance. So there I was, at the Holiday Inn for work and the bar was closed. Apparently, the bartender didn't show up for work and although the manager said I could tend the bar for the night, I was not about to start a new job. She recommended the Mirror Bar, located in the basement of the Hotel Bently. After assurances that I wouldn't be murdered walking the block to the bar, I set off. The Mirror Bar reminds me of a classy joint from a bygone era. Yes, there are mirrors. No, it is not some sort of weird place. I mention that because when I told people I went to the mirror bar they looked at me as if I was some sort of perv and I want to set the record straight. Back to the review. This is a nice bar with a nice selection of bourbon. Weeknights are pretty dead but don't let that stop you. In addition to bar seating, there are tables along the wall with comfortable chairs. Comfortable chairs in a dark classy bar? Yes, please. Prices are pretty standard for a hotel bar. Will I be back? of course. If you see me there, say hi and buy me a bourbon. read more

I've only been there once, but let me say the food is amazing!! My boyfriend and i had oysters along with our entrees. All food was up to par. the bartender was alone, but he was quick & didn't get orders wrong! I loved the lounge environment, fancy & private! read more

Tim the bartender was an exceptionally great team member when I asked him about the hotel and it's history per a ghost hunter show that I want to include them in. Myself and a coworker were traveling in the area and he was more then informative and courteous. ASY Tv absolutely should film the paranormal events here as it is quite an interesting hotel with tons of great history and ghost haunting stories ! My husband and I go here. The staff are always nice. I love that we can order food....cause sometimes you wanna eat when you drink. They have a DJ and themed dance parties occasionally. And, there is plenty of room to lounge on comfy couches! Always a good time! read more

Excellent place for food service, and atmosphere. The Mirror Room is located o the ground floor of a historic hotel. Entering feels like a doing into a secret speakeasy. The hotel itself, The Berkeley is worth a visit in itself, with a cavernous lobby stone columns and WWII memorabilia. The menu selection has heartt choices of American favorites that are well prepared. They are flavorful and well presented. There is a wide selection as well. The bar had one of themes charming and competent bartenders I have met anywhere. Even though the Mirror room is n a hotel, the customers struck as being locals. As a dining experience, the Mirror Room is worth going out of your way for. The speakeasy atmosphere continued as the band for th night was setting up. I heard what I the was their setup crew having a good time. The focus was on fun not artistic expression at this easy stage. I'm from DC so the drinks were cheap in comparison. The staff were friendly and the bar was clean. They had a large fruit plate and cheese platter that the guys loved. We definitely won't be back to Alexandria, Louisiana considering it is a ghost town but great bar! read more

Came into town for the weekend. The bar had only just opened the week before, but it was running smoothly as if it had been open for ages. Staff was polite and friendly. The bar was absolutely beautiful. Drinks were fairly priced. Would recommend to anybody. read more

The atmosphere is for people who like a more quiet and relaxed style of night. Dress appropriately. It's not required, but it should be done because of the feel of the place. The drinks are well made and service is pretty quick, regardless of the night or amount of people. read more
