Flat iron steak salad
Marge S.

Very disappointed, won't return. We ordered the baked feta appetizer which had been left under a heat lamp so long is was a congealed mass of salty cheese that was burned to the pan. This dish is just a bad concept. I had the salmon with roasted rosemary potatoes and grilled vegetables. The salmon was nicely cooked but over sauced. The vegetables were swimming in oil- such that there was a pool of grease on the plate. The potatoes were sliced very small almost like a hash brown, overcooked and not seasoned well. They had an interesting drink menu that showed promise. I had a cucumber muddled - green goddess. But even this was overly sweet. The chef here is relying on lots of oil, heavily sauced proteins and over salted food to appeal to the palate. It didn't work!

We went yesterday (in the rain) for my birthday 9/4. We enjoyed everything. The decor and were really cool. Our server, forgot to write her name down, was amazing and really attentive. The owner/ manager walked around and greeted all the tables which I always appreciate when we eat out. Now to the food, my steak was cooked just the way that I liked it. The spinach was sautéed with lots of garlic which I loved. My husband had the ahi poke bowl and loved it. The girls has burgers that I didn't get pics of and they liked them. It was nice to not have to drive out of town, which we usually do, to celebrate my birthday. Will definitely be back and highly recommend.

This is my go-to spot in Alexandria…read more I am not baller enough to stay at the Hotel Bently but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. Actually, that isn't true. I actually stayed at the OG Holiday Inn across the street from the Hotel Bently and found this bar by happenstance. So there I was, at the Holiday Inn for work and the bar was closed. Apparently, the bartender didn't show up for work and although the manager said I could tend the bar for the night, I was not about to start a new job. She recommended the Mirror Bar, located in the basement of the Hotel Bently. After assurances that I wouldn't be murdered walking the block to the bar, I set off. The Mirror Bar reminds me of a classy joint from a bygone era. Yes, there are mirrors. No, it is not some sort of weird place. I mention that because when I told people I went to the mirror bar they looked at me as if I was some sort of perv and I want to set the record straight. Back to the review. This is a nice bar with a nice selection of bourbon. Weeknights are pretty dead but don't let that stop you. In addition to bar seating, there are tables along the wall with comfortable chairs. Comfortable chairs in a dark classy bar? Yes, please. Prices are pretty standard for a hotel bar. Will I be back? of course. If you see me there, say hi and buy me a bourbon.

It was my colleague's turn to choose the dinner location and he decided on Mexican food. Now, I am…read morefrom Arizona, which has the best Mexican food, so I wasn't exactly excited about eating this genre in Alexandria, Louisiana. Here goes... I wanted to play it safe so I ordered the carne asada. To my surprise, it wasn't horrible. Had good flavor and was cooked perfectly. It's served on a bed of grilled onions, which was weird but whatever. This dish also came with my choice of corn or flour tortillas. The rice and beans on the side tasted like they came strait from a can though, but who's there for the rice and beans anyway? Pro tip: save yourself a few bucks and just order the steak fajitas in lieu of the carne asada. The fajitas are served almost identically to the carne asada, except your meat is cut for you already. Both plates come served over grilled onions, both come with tortillas and also with rice/beans and toppings. EXACTLY THE SAME! Weird thing is, the carne asada is $2 more? Give Pedro's a shot, it won't be the best Mexican food you've ever had, but it won't be the worst either. One thumb and a high-five for Pedro's. Happy eating, my foodies!

I made…read morethe drive from my hotel room to Pedro's which was somewhat of an adventure because the GPS kept sending me to the wrong place. I ended up getting my fried ice cream to go $6.99. I commend the staff for being really nice and helpful. Everything was still intact and hadn't melted by the time I got back to my hotel room. The ice cream was still firm and the shell was still crispy. Before digging in I had to take some of the whipped cream off of it. A little bit too much sugar was sprinkled on the outside but overall this was really good. I may come back and visit this place again before I leave. I just know to ask them not to put any whipped cream and not as much sugar. The staff was friendly and very helpful.

I traveled home for the weekend and decided to check out a local establishment that was rumored to…read morehave great crawfish. Unfortunately, it was a hot mess. We couldn't order crawfish inside due to a staffing shortage and were advised to use the drive-through, which took about 23 to 30 minutes. After placing our order, we returned inside to eat, only to be told there was a $5 entry fee. When I spoke with a young lady and explained that we had just left to order crawfish because we couldn't do it inside, she stated that it was now a door charge. As we waited for the manager, the entry fee increased to $10. The owner eventually came over and confirmed the $10 cover charge, saying that the place was expected to be packed to capacity. This was very unprofessional, and the setup was poorly executed. To make matters worse, I later heard that entry was supposed to be free from 4 to 9 PM. Not only was he unprofessional, but there was also false advertising involved. I will add the crawfish were good

And downstairs there was a Dj and decent size bar area and dance floor. And the music plays upstairs as well. There are so many different daiquiri flavors to choose from and i dont know how they make it so cold but the daiquiris almost gave me frost bite they were so cold. Very tastey and you for sure know there's alcohol in there. And the prices are also the star of the show. I got 3 large daiquiris and a few beers and my tab was only 45ish dollars. Im still here for another week or so for work and i hope we visit here again.

I decided to sit at…read morethe bar for a solo lunch and to take advantage of their current wing promo: buy 6, 10, or 15 wings and get the same amount FREE when you sign up for their rewards program. The vibe was laid-back with just the right amount of energy, and the real MVP of my visit was my server, April. She was kind, attentive, and super quick -- exactly what you want when you're hungry and short on time. She even whipped up a strawberry margarita that was honestly better than a few I've had at full-blown cocktail bars. (Not pictured, but trust me -- it was GOOD.) My only gripe was not receiving all flats, even though the restaurant charges extra for that option. For some reason, the promo doesn't allow you to request all flats or all drums unless you're paying full price -- which feels a bit off, especially since they already have a system in place to accommodate wing style preferences. A small detail, but one worth noting if you're particular about your wings. All in all, it was a great experience. The wings were crispy and flavorful, the service was excellent. Looks like BWW just made its way back into my rotation.
