We used the Moreno Group to sell our Los Feliz townhouse in early 2019. Having grown up in the area I had seen their signs scattered around town for years, but had never met George or Eileen. As the time approached for us to consider listing our place, I decided to drop into an open house to see if they would actually be there, ask questions, etc. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that George was there (not some assistant), and he was very friendly and eager to answer any questions. Our home sold for 400K over asking! As first time home-sellers, we had long been apprehensive about the process. George and Eileen are the original owners and very professional albeit transactional. Make sure you ask for them specifically. Their newest partner (Laura) is much younger, and provides very much the millennial experience. Looking for a quick deal, and when it's done, it's done. She "handled" the other end of a real estate transaction. Was stand-offish, very different than Eileen (hands down the best of the 3). Closed the deal on behalf of her client but then when her client turned out to be irresponsible, Laura was completely hands-off and very much adopted the attitude of "I closed my part of the deal. Not my problem." I suppose that's true, but no respectable retail establishment would sell you a lemon then wash their hands of it--much less a lemon that costs several thousands of dollars. I can buy a pair of Lululemon leggings and get better customer service if there's a quality issue, than from Laura when she delivers a poor quality transaction to me. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars and not zero (or 1 star) is because her parents (George & Eileen) are much more knowledgeable, responsible, and personable. Bottom line: if you are looking for a quick transaction and don't care about the experience or are confident the transaction won't have any issues afterwards, this is an okay way to go. I'd recommend being careful about which one of the 3 you are working with though. The newest one is unfortunately stereotypically apathetic. read more

We knew from the outset that we would select The Moreno Team to sell our family owned quadraplex in Los Feliz. We met them years ago at an open house in the neighborhood and immediately knew they were the professionals we would use in Los Feliz. It took us several false starts over a few years to finally let the building go. I say this, because each time we THOUGHT we were ready to sell, they were there for us, and with patience and no pressure, let us make our decision to finally sell. When we did, they met with the 8 of us to outline their very thoughtful approach and within weeks (and guidance from the amazing Laura) helped us ready our four units for sale and it was on the market. It sold for WAY over asking in the first week. They worked with us to schedule times that were convenient for everything from inspectors to photographers to showings, no easy feat since we had renters to consider. So Disappointed! We tried to lease a house and were told initially that the owner had accepted the amount we were willing to pay. Then after we wasted time and energy, filling out paperwork, etc....we were asked if we could pay $200 more per month, do a longer lease....and more. Then they said the house had been leased. Later we find it is still being shown! I talked to George who told me the owner was never going to accept our offer in the first place. SHAME ON YOU, GEORGE MORENO! And to think you've been doing this to people for 30 years. In this case, I feel sorry for the owner of the house, because their home could have had tenants living in it right now. I think my favorite thing about Eileen Moreno was when she told me I probably couldn't afford the house she was showing. Was it my yoga pants that made her say that? Felt like a real "Pretty Woman" moment. They've also been very negligent about a home they sold nearby that had an alarm that was going off for weeks. After weeks of being asked about it by all of the neighbors, they finally hopped in to action when they found out they were not being spoken favorably on the Next Door App. There are so many great realtors in the area - do yourself a favor and skip these guys. read more
