After a diagnosis of pancreatitis of my senior bichon/yorkie, I did the research of what type of food and treats she was allowed and where to find them. Ren's has the most extensive variety of all natural treats, catering to all specific diets. In my case, I needed low fat and Ren's had the best to offer. Ren's in St. Thomas is a pleasure to visit. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable and if they are not able to answer any questions, they will go out of their way to do the research and help us out. And most impressive.. they remember our name and ALL of our dogs names when we come in for our weekly shop.

We will be back again. Maddox was extremely helpful and great with my dog. She was also very helpful in explaining both the grooming services and possible veterinary services if we choose to change veterinarians. This edit is for a later visit on August 21, 2017: Our dog, Frodo, developed cancer. The staff, particularly the two vets and vet techs, we so wonderful to both him and us through his ordeal. They gave us options and worked with us within our financial means. We had do eventually do what was best for him and they helped us send him over the Rainbow Bridge with such grace, dignity, and compassion that we felt they loved him as much as we did. We will be forever grateful to this clinic for all everyone did, even after he was gone, to comfort us. Many vets are only about the money they can get from their clients, but North Neighbourhood Vet isn't. They deeply love animals and it shows.

I didn't believe them but you would think a vet would know best. Still months had past and it wasn't healing when I moved back to Toronto two days later it opened up again and I had to bring her to my vet here. My vet was mortified to see that neighbourhood pet clinic just kept sending her home in this state. I had to pay for antibiotics and now she might need to get another surgery to fix what they did to my poor girl.

The staff is incredibly kind and wonderful with the animals--even the aggressive ones. My cat Jiro is an absolute angel at home, but he has strict boundaries and gets very aggressive when the vets try to do their work. This had been a problem with previous vets, which resulted in Jiro receiving very little treatment. Matthew's Animal Hospital was willing to work with us and took extra effort to ensure Jiro stayed as least stressed as possible so he could tolerate much-needed exams and treatment. You can tell they genuinely care about every animal they treat. I know veterinary care is expensive everywhere--but for good reason. If they could make it cheaper, they would. Matthew's Animal Hospital's quality of care is well worth the price, and I don't think they're more expensive than any other vet. Bottom line: I couldn't recommend them more. 10/10!
