Not sure 'Resort' is an accurate description here.
Of the 6 'lakes' only the 3 larger ones are fishable (despite the description on the website) on day ticket. There's also a decent stock of silver fish (mainly rudd and roach) which are fun to catch.
Despite good growth of marginal reeds in places the waters still have a 'raw' feel to them, and pegs are set-up for bivvies laid out bark on gravel instead of grassy banks. A few more trees on the banks would soften the edges and provide good cover to fish against.
This is not a cheap fishery, but the ticket price is probably justified if you're looking for its unique aspects - catfish and (controversially) sturgeon. But in terms of the carp fishing, there are more attractive mature waters within driving distance which offer fishing of equal quality (some, arguably better) for the same price or less. That said, if you want some gauranteed winter action, Lake 5 will produce runs, albeit from mainly small carp.
It's also worth pointing out that the on-site lodges by Lake 6 sometimes have noisy (non-fishing?) residents I could hear most of the hot-tub action on a recent visit! read more
