I eat based on a Paleo diet. Hubby suggested eating at The New Whyalla Hotel. I of course asked him if they had a Gluten Free menu and he said "Google it".
After Googling it and finding it contained a Cafe Primo I no longer wished to go out. He advised me it was no longer a Cafe Primo but it's own restaurant. If we did not like the menu we could go elsewhere.
We pulled up outside and there was nothing I could see that indicated they had a restaurant.
Once through the doors to the lounge we were met at the bar by a lovely man who showed us the menu, understood about food allergies and intolerances and gained clarification for us on our food choices.
We were then shown through to our table.
We declined the free soft drink option for our daughter and also the free ice cream for later (great for those that want it). We just had filtered water.
Hubby ( not Paleo) chose the fish of the day with chips and salad. Daughter had chicken tenderloins grilled, salad and gluten free chips, they even made her a fresh serve if aioli to ensure no gluten. I ordered the Lamb salad.
All meals were lovely. So much so hubby stuck his head into the kitchen to thank the chef.
We will be back, thanks for providing food items for finickety customer read more
