We had the Construction Marketing team bid and do the work on our dock at Smith Mountain Lake. It…read morewas a major renovation with a lot of different aspects that included electrical, woodworking, and cabinetry. We had the ceiling installed, removed the boat slips, replaced the decking with Trex, boxed in the columns, lighting, and fans installed and a bar with appliances and kegerator put in. They were the most expensive of the bids we got but based on our interactions and seeing some of their other work, we had confidence in them and decided they would be the ones we went with. Due to the COVID crisis, it took longer to get materials and crew in place than our original schedule, however, the work they did was fantastic. The decking required a lot of precise cuts and detailed work and the project foreman, Jason, and his team did a great job. Of particular concern was the integration with both our irrigation system (the pump is in the attic of the dock) and the wireless system for the speakers and they offered creative solutions which have been well-implemented. Throughout the process, they were very sensitive to avoid damaging landscaping and grass and always cleaned up after their work each day. Any issues that came up were dealt with quickly and efficiently. For example, when materials were delayed and wouldn't make a schedule deadline we set, the job foreman, Jason, jumped in a truck and drove to the plant in North Carolina where they were being stored and brought them back himself. I was pretty impressed with that. Jason played a key role in making sure everything not only met my expectations but exceeded his own high standards. I can attest to the fact that Construction Marketing made every effort to make sure the job was done the way we wanted it. I'm very happy with how it eventually turned out.

They were more reasonable when they installed our 3 units in our home. We put in Trane bec we had…read morethat brand for 35 years great service. Trane has dropped some of their quality and we had to pay for labor 2 years after on one unit bec Trane manufacturing dropped the ball on welding. Wasn't happy about that. We also had a commercial unit installed around same time and that too was poor workmanship for Trane. We found Air Tech to be more reasonable on their pricing.

They installed a whole house HVAC unit from scratch in our 150 year old house. The work was done quickly and the workers were polite, respectful of our home, as quiet as they could be, and nice to our dog. We really appreciated that they weren't yelling across the house, there was no cursing (which in my experience is pretty common). We also really appreciated that they were careful not to damage our belongings, despite my house being in utter disarray at the time, and they even vacuumed up the dust from the drywall when they cut the necessary holes in the ceiling. When we had a small problem, the owner was quick to respond and fix it himself. I can't say enough good things about our experience with this company! We are hoping that this system will hold up well and all of the installation was done properly, but so far so good.

I was initially told the project would take 14 days at most and it turned into a two and a half month project. All the while the project manager ghosted me and would not provide an update unless I called. And just when you think the project is done, turns out they used untreated wood for an outdoor deck. After finally calling someone above the project manager I was give a discount for inconvenience I guess but at these prices this is simply unacceptable. I had another project lined up but did not move forward with using F&S. I am looking for a new contractor.
